I think we can do better than jcs. He isn't fast and not strong enough for league 1. See the goal at peterborough where he pretty much jogs back when sinclair is last defender or 3rd goal yesterday when all he does is run alongside the winger- no presence to force the player wide. Left footed isn't enough to justify his place.

Out of interest why was JCS considered lazy and uncommitted but Locks not, as they were both useless yesterday? JCS can't really help not being able to cope with a strong in the air CF, that's DC's error for dropping Sweeney.

That team selection yesterday by DC tells me that we will have JCS next year and not Sweeney? Just keeping Chelsea sweet me thinks?

Well the last couple of games in particular, his attitude has looked rather questionable. Lazy and uncommitted. Why does a poor game seem to equal lazy and uncommitted? JCS was bullied by Morrison, clattered in the face and roughed up. I am sure thats what he had in mind when he apparently decided to be lazy and uncommitted yesterday and he just let it keep happening because he couldnt be arsed and wanted to be beat up some more At least its not Ellis getting sticknfor yesterday. Suggest you watch the 3rd goal from yesterday. Also see the last Peterborough goal last week.

Lockyer has had many a poor game this season but can't fault his effort and commitment very often.

No dispute there, doesnt mean he was lazy or uncommitted. You just assume that because he was crap which is kind of my point

Lots of people asking why JCS played ahead of Burn. I think it's as simple as being left footed. DC has always liked a right footer & left footer in the middle. We played two right footers at Coventry & Lockyer struggled on the left. Both Burn & Partington haven't had too many minutes yet but I'm sure their time will come,I think we'll see another left footed centre back come in during the summer. dc quite happily played same footed centre-backs in the conference season and loads of centre-back combinations at various clubs have same footed centre-backs so i dont agree. Burn must be utter rubbish because clarke-salter has been a very poor loan signing in my opinion and is mercilessly targeted in the air especially every time we play. I didn't say I agreed with it just that imo that was the reason. DC has openly admitted in interviews he likes the balance of a right/left footed centre back partnership. I'll agree JCS has been targeted in the air & without a doubt yesterday he was bullied. Lockyer seems to struggle without a dominant centre back alongside him so think that needs to be a priority.

Did anyone notice how many times JCS held his cast on his arm. I know at my level of football, bandages were marked as a prime area to kick and would not be surprised if a street wise CF grabbed his arm time and time agian to try and hurt him and put JCS off his game.
Sweeney appeared to have a slight limp on the walk around the pitch afterwards so maybe was not 100% to play.
You might not have noticed but DC tries to play different sides for different "projects". Macca played against the big lumps but at this level was not very often. JCS did well against smaller players and as a three so if we get him, he will play in those games and Hartley against the bigger players.
We would all like Sweeney back but he is most likely going to a championship club.

Fair comment,i was expecting hartley to be dominant but he wasnt im afraid.

The thought of him playing alongside Lockyer next season, doesn`t fill me with confidence.

TBH both JCS & Locks could have both done more, the former to stop the cross, the latter to stop the cross reaching the goal scorer. If you look at all 4 goals conceded somebody could have stopped them ie what the hell was Leads doing trying to head a ball a foot off the ground.
