Pity Easter's off. Got to be down to wages as he offers a lot more than Harrison, James and Gaffney together as a squad player. Moore showed today what a good footballer he is when played with other good footballers like Bodin and Easter. Was disappointed he got the nod over Montano but his second year of his contract must have been the clincher.

Why play JCS as a CH today when surely he's best as a CB in a 2 or 3 man central defence? Today showed we desperately need Sweeney back or a similar CH signed during the summer. Why did we not play Burn today, he cost a fair bit of money and i have yet to see him play Does seem strange not to play Burn...how much did DC pay for him? Can only guess it was to please Chelsea and give us a change of a loan again next season.

Yes two odd signings if DC is so reluctant to given them game-time?

Easter put in a very good performance today ...guess age and wages come into it as you say. Best I've seem Moore play. If Newport stay up then I guess Easter will move across the water and good luck to him.

I posted on the match thread that Burn should have replaced Clarke Salter at half time. The young lad looked totally out of his depth and not strong enough physically to cope with the likes of Morrison. If Sweeney does not return would prefer to see Burn and Partington given more game time to prove themselves rather than bring JTS back. Not forgetting Hartley who was the only one of our CB's who could score goals.

Moore played well today but how many goals and assists did he get this season - only a squad player for me.

A lot of people were disappointed with letting Monty go but I probably agree with it. If we're going to improve then we need better than Monty and Moore on that left. Hopefully we can get a better replacement with Moore as backup.

Assuming he's given sufficient backing then this summer will be a big test for DC, as he'll need to bring in a goalie & CH at least as good as Lumley & Sweeney, a decent left winger and a couple of strikers who can score plus 5 or so other players of decent Div 1 quality. As far as Easter's wages being too expensive if we are competing against the likes of Newport why can't we match what ever they can offer?

They would have both been on their bikes for a lack of consistency, Moore was saved by virtue of having a contract until 2018.

Lots of people asking why JCS played ahead of Burn. I think it's as simple as being left footed. DC has always liked a right footer & left footer in the middle. We played two right footers at Coventry & Lockyer struggled on the left. Both Burn & Partington haven't had too many minutes yet but I'm sure their time will come,I think we'll see another left footed centre back come in during the summer.

I think people are far too quick to write players off after a bad performance or two. Clarke-Salter has shown real promise and ability earlier in the season before his injury and is very highly thought of at Chelsea and by the England teams he has represented and captained. He obviously has loads still to learn but I would be very happy if Chelsea deemed it fit for him to spend more time with us next season.

Burn must be utter rubbish because clarke-salter has been a very poor loan signing in my opinion and is mercilessly targeted in the air especially every time we play.

I agree, you dont need to worry if a CB is right or left footed, the same as you dont with central midfielders. What you need is a strong dominant SOB who doesnt leave the opposition free in the 6 yard box for starters.

Most of his games before his injury he played well but was prone to the odd bit of naivety, as you would expect from someone of his age learning his trade in a physical division. At his age and with his ability, he'll learn fast if he has the right attitude. And if he's here next season, knowing what we know about DC, it will be because he has the right attitude.

Well the last couple of games in particular, his attitude has looked rather questionable. Lazy and uncommitted.

JCS was bullied by Morrison, clattered in the face and roughed up. I am sure thats what he had in mind when he apparently decided to be lazy and uncommitted yesterday and he just let it keep happening because he couldnt be arsed and wanted to be beat up some more At least its not Ellis getting sticknfor yesterday.
