Most people can use contactless technology. There’s still some who struggle with it. It’s baffling for those of us on an Internet forum how something so simple can be such a battle. However these people are out there. There are also people who can understand it, and use it, but prefer not to. Many because they don’t trust it, don’t feel they can budget properly with it (especially at this time!!!), some because of tax / legal concerns. For me if I could Apple Pay everywhere in the stadium or even use my season ticket card to make payment then I’ll celebrate that progress. However, I’m concerned there are many that will see this as a backward step that represents a kick in the Mitre Deltas. Amazes me the lack of empathy on this matter. Would people celebrate bank branches, post offices being closed in this manner? I would imagine there's lack of empathy as it's such a simple and trivial matter. It's basic and straightforward, and if you've not got a bank account, and deal in 'cash only', as you want to 'play the system', then that's your fault, no one else's. My old man is as luddite as they come, but at 78 years old, even he knows how contactless payments work.

It would be nice to have freedom of choice. No doubt this will put some older fans of purchasing anything. Get ready for forum meltdowns as the system goes down. Just my luck, I'll finish work early v FGR, get my 50/50s around 12 and then the system will crash and no one else can buy one. I'll win, but still lose half my stake! On the plus side, maybe more people will buy 50/50's etc as I, and a number of friends barely bought one last season, as always forgot to bring a quid with me as not actively used cash, or even carried cash with me since lockdown.

Problems are: it wasn't at the end of the match; it was the second week running; and the goalie was assaulted. Onwards and upwards
Was he, so it's gone from 'rumour' to cold hard proof now has it?? Where did you get this evidence from?

This thread is hilarious.
Whilst not condoning those than ran on when the seventh goal went in, can all those who are sat at home 'worried' about the consequences please list all the teams have had a points deduction for an end of season pitch invasion over the last 5 years??

I’ve got nothing to add, other than our manager is the biggest tosser ever to manage this club. Hoping the jury relieve him of his services during his next court case.

Get the fecking useless idiot out of the club asap. If the upcoming jury can't be trusted to ensure he departs, Wael needs to grow a pair, and get him out the door asap.

Won, lose or draw the sooner he’s gone the better, and I still flicked the V’s and told him to sod off at the final whistle. UTG

I don't want us to lose, but win lose or draw, I still want 'Barton Out', and if we lose, hopefully it's one step closer to him leaving.

My nan who’s been dead for over 30 years had more footballing tactical know how, than the fraud that is Joey Barton. #BartonOut

Blimey, thought there were a few Rovers fans that talked out of their arse on here about football, but it seems that some are just utter tw*ts in general.

I noticed that there were a few ‘crying’ on Twitter that we’d signed such a ghastly human being, as he’d also got a few red cards, along with his ‘where’s your caravan’ misdemeanour.
I think we need to open an area in the ground for all the Benedictine monks that now apparently follow the team!

I thought having the Gascast chaps doing the commentary was a refreshing change. Were they perfect, no, did they waffle on a bit when there was action happening on the pitch, yes, BUT, it was their first time of doing a 'proper' match. It was never going to be perfect, the same way any of us do something for the first time, it doesn't always go to plan. Keith knows his stuff, and great bloke, but his 'summarising' or whatever you want to call it, is as dull as ditchwater at times. I'm not saying have the Gascast lot on every week necessarily, but I would certainly like to see them on a few more times this season, 'practice makes perfect' as they say.

I won £50 in vouchers a few months back. Had several of those over the years, and also won the 'holiday' about 8 years ago. What did the holiday package consist of? It was a £500 voucher to spend at Thorntons Travel. Used it to takes the kids to Disneyland Paris on the Eurostar for a few days.

I'm happy to comment phillistine. The club statement I'm referring to was made on July 8th and this said that BRFC 1883 Ltd had allotted shares to capitalise the Dwane Sports debt and this action had been processed at Companies House. On September 15th Martyn Starnes effectively acknowledged that the earlier statement was not true when he said the share allotment by BRFC 1883 Ltd to capitalise the Dwane Sports debt would take place immediately after the AGM on September 28th. Since the filing of the document with Companies House only takes a few minutes my question was why, by early December, had it not been filed at Companies House bearing in mind the law says it must be filed within 30 days of the allotment. And my point was that it was better for Rovers if the club was transparent about this rather than saying something had been done when the evidence showed that it had not been and then choosing to remain silent about it. The form SH01 is dated September 28th so before anyone comes up with any conspiracy theories about why it took ten weeks to be filed here is a possible explanation. One of Martyn's colleagues comes into the office on Monday morning this week and says "Hey Mart did you see that some Gnome from Zurich has been on Gaschat rattling on about the loan not being capitalised". So Martyn gets straight on to Taylor Wessing about it and they start scrabbling through the BRFC file (which has grown quite big over the past six months). Eventually Taylor finds the form SH01 right at the bottom of the pile and within a few minutes Wessing has scanned and emailed it to Companies House. Seems a bit of a long winded way to say 'I was wrong' ?

Not fussed that he's gone. Good money for a bloke that looks 2 stone over weight in pre-season, and can 'breakdown' at any moment once the season starts. Yes, he got us some important goals, but fingers crossed the replacement can do the same. That said, the style of football we seem to be trying to play this season, hopefully the goals will come from all over the park, and not just the old 'lump it up to JCH to see what he can do'. UTG.
