Thanks for that twerton.Just goes to show the club know what they are doing and know where they are going with this. It appears to me the new owners are further ahead with their plans for ground improvements than many of us give them credit for. Still won't be good enough for some on here. It's a nice new stand, but.... It's not nice enough, It's not a new build, It should have been done years ago. 🫣

Unless you were one of them. The link states that the restrictions did save lives, I guess it depends on what level is acceptable, even these figures aren't insignificant. Shelter-in-place (stay at home) orders in Europe and the United States reduced COVID mortality by between 1.4 and 4.1 per cent; Business closures reduced mortality by 7.5 per cent; Gathering limits likely increased COVID mortality by almost six per cent; Mask mandates, which most countries avoided in Spring 2020, reduced mortality by 18.7 per cent, particularly mandates in workplaces; and School closures resulted in a between 2.5 per cent and 6.2 per cent mortality reduction. Of course, and that's the debate isn't it. The message from our leaders to justify the interventions didn't return the results, plus had a huge impact on the economy. Added to this the increase in nhs waiting lists and the mental health issues for kids and stressed adults is likely to turn any small % benefits upside down. Protecting the most vulnerable was obviously the way to go, plus self policing and common sense. To lock down the healthy, and stop kids and people without symptoms contributing to the country was foolish. The elephant in the room is excess mortality which only Bridgen is shouting about. That mortality % over a longer term will show that previously healthy people will suffer way more that what covid could ever have done. Excess mortality isn't necessarily that useful as a number of other factors would skew the figures. Death from other flu like illnesses were down offsetting the covid numbers, for example, or the effect of long covid.

Yeah, but added weight by the bloke down the curry house. I find it hard to believe that any intelligent person would actually write that and not be embarrassed. Real life story. Anyway, you've been kind enough to tell me on many occasions how unintelligent I am so your jibe is a bit odd! As for the link, is that less valid than Bojos daily updates..hmm, I doubt it. I dont think there's a strong argument to justify the damage to the economy. Ave age of mortality at 82 with a 99% survival rate doesn't make it sensible to shut schools. Unless you were one of them. It became a Gaschat fact once Pirate suggested that Wael had been given the task of finding the new manager. My source also said back on 2nd November that Wael was in Jordan for a couple of weeks, so might explain part of the delay? Although with modern communication it should be too difficult to start negotiations remotely. View Attachment The use of "apparently" is interesting, not a primary source?

Did anyone hear JRM on Radio 4? No need to import migrants for fruit picking, just import the fruit. 🙄 Or alternatively use our own unemployed, there's plenty of them! That isn't what he said though.

So energy bills will go up again in Jan by £100 a month. Strange, I thought the economy had taken a turn, we were in complete control, and the government is the sole reason for inflation down to 4.7%? On a serious note, this is terrible timing for all and the timing on this is real eggs on faces of the Tories if inflation goes up again in the new year because of this Price cap guarantee goes too doesn't it? Even bigger jump.

Amongst the stats bandied around, it's the highest tax take since 1948, the biggest drop in disposable income since 1955.

No need, it'll be dismissed as just an OBR forecast.

"Chief political correspondent Jon Craig, who has been speaking to MPs this afternoon, says Tories are "convinced" the national insurance move means we're set for a May election.
Jon says it's still likely, in his view, that the nation will go to the polls in October.
But he says the chancellor has got Tory MPs talking about a May election now."

Loved the way Jeremy Hunt said at the start of the Autumn Statement that inflation has come down since he and Sunak came into office. Completely ignoring the Truss days. 😃

I just have this small concern that we are doing the same at the quarters as the rugby club did at the Mem. Sell off a corner of the site where the team train only for years later to wish we still had the land for our own development This is a huge site and it makes sense to me that they sell off what they don’t need to fund the building of a state of the art training facility. I understand the site covers almost 28 acres - almost double the size in acreage of the Bristol City training facility. Interesting this started with SGC before the new owners took over. City also have overspill with the nearby school, don't they? I suppose we could utilise WISE in that regard. My concern is twofold, one is that we need to do this in the first place when it should be used to house all our needs under one roof. There are certain facilities required for Cat 2 academy status and if you look at the original rugby plans, space and shape only really allows for the equivalent of 6 full sized pitches, some of which has been taken with the reservoir and landscaping. And two, it sets a planning precedent similar to Tesco buying part of Eastville with us needing to sell more or even all of it a few years down the line.

Warmley residents are concerned, citing the Northern fringe is more suited to housing and jobs. Perhaps they'd have preferred a modest football stadium to hundreds of houses. 🙄 "Speaking in the council meeting on 13 November, Mr Bromiley warned that the villages of Warmley, Shortwood and Siston could merge." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-67472617

Okay then, oh sorry, misread. Needs glasses. 😉 You’ll do . What’s best Stupot ? ( probably the wrong person to ask as you only watch bbc4 🙄) Oi! It's not just BBC4, I also fit in the odd Select Committee on BBC Parliament. Breaking Bad was a more consistent series whereas Better Call Saul had probably better individual episodes and because of the background and experience gained, had marginally better acting and production. But truth is they have a very symbiotic relationship and are better series for both existing.

That was mentioned by Gaelgas so just giving one other option. Probably the scoreboard, though. I’m sure that was originally the plan That's what I remember too, although not sure if it was confirmed or just a Gaschat 'fact'.

Sorry put wrong number down. The .59 was a plot in Stoke Gifford on sale at £1 million, extrapolate this out to £3.8 for the 2.25. There's a suggestion that 70 homes could be built by on the site, working out what each plot could be worth probably gives a better idea of the value of the land, whatever it is it's a few £m! Have you factored in build costs and ancillary expenses for the house builder?

Wrong sort of Brexit - should have been low tax, low regulation 'Singapore upon Thames', but it'll just take time and be okay.....eventually. 😃

Can anyone tell me the plans for the very left of the stand where the seats don’t go all the way to the back of the stand?? What’s going there??? Or why have they left it blank?? Scoreboard? Media suite? Security control room? Hospitality? Pitch view restaurant? Or wheelchair user viewing platform? Getting up there may be fun. 😀
