Amongst the stats bandied around, it's the highest tax take since 1948, the biggest drop in disposable income since 1955.

No need, it'll be dismissed as just an OBR forecast.

"Chief political correspondent Jon Craig, who has been speaking to MPs this afternoon, says Tories are "convinced" the national insurance move means we're set for a May election.
Jon says it's still likely, in his view, that the nation will go to the polls in October.
But he says the chancellor has got Tory MPs talking about a May election now."

Loved the way Jeremy Hunt said at the start of the Autumn Statement that inflation has come down since he and Sunak came into office. Completely ignoring the Truss days. 😃

I just have this small concern that we are doing the same at the quarters as the rugby club did at the Mem. Sell off a corner of the site where the team train only for years later to wish we still had the land for our own development This is a huge site and it makes sense to me that they sell off what they don’t need to fund the building of a state of the art training facility. I understand the site covers almost 28 acres - almost double the size in acreage of the Bristol City training facility. Interesting this started with SGC before the new owners took over. City also have overspill with the nearby school, don't they? I suppose we could utilise WISE in that regard. My concern is twofold, one is that we need to do this in the first place when it should be used to house all our needs under one roof. There are certain facilities required for Cat 2 academy status and if you look at the original rugby plans, space and shape only really allows for the equivalent of 6 full sized pitches, some of which has been taken with the reservoir and landscaping. And two, it sets a planning precedent similar to Tesco buying part of Eastville with us needing to sell more or even all of it a few years down the line.

Warmley residents are concerned, citing the Northern fringe is more suited to housing and jobs. Perhaps they'd have preferred a modest football stadium to hundreds of houses. 🙄 "Speaking in the council meeting on 13 November, Mr Bromiley warned that the villages of Warmley, Shortwood and Siston could merge." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-67472617

Okay then, oh sorry, misread. Needs glasses. 😉 You’ll do . What’s best Stupot ? ( probably the wrong person to ask as you only watch bbc4 🙄) Oi! It's not just BBC4, I also fit in the odd Select Committee on BBC Parliament. Breaking Bad was a more consistent series whereas Better Call Saul had probably better individual episodes and because of the background and experience gained, had marginally better acting and production. But truth is they have a very symbiotic relationship and are better series for both existing.

That was mentioned by Gaelgas so just giving one other option. Probably the scoreboard, though. I’m sure that was originally the plan That's what I remember too, although not sure if it was confirmed or just a Gaschat 'fact'.

Sorry put wrong number down. The .59 was a plot in Stoke Gifford on sale at £1 million, extrapolate this out to £3.8 for the 2.25. There's a suggestion that 70 homes could be built by on the site, working out what each plot could be worth probably gives a better idea of the value of the land, whatever it is it's a few £m! Have you factored in build costs and ancillary expenses for the house builder?

Wrong sort of Brexit - should have been low tax, low regulation 'Singapore upon Thames', but it'll just take time and be okay.....eventually. 😃

Can anyone tell me the plans for the very left of the stand where the seats don’t go all the way to the back of the stand?? What’s going there??? Or why have they left it blank?? Scoreboard? Media suite? Security control room? Hospitality? Pitch view restaurant? Or wheelchair user viewing platform? Getting up there may be fun. 😀

Not announced to Parliament first? Tut, tut. Other rumours include a cut in NI contributions.

This is why some of us suggested getting someone in with proper football nous and experience to help with the process. I’m still awaiting the phone call 🙄 Mobile reception in Yatton? You may be waiting a little longer. 😃

No transfer windows back then if I recall. Nope, started 2002 - 2003 season. No signings, except loans, after March/Easter though, wasn't it? I still recall a cut off towards the end of the season.

They bought into Dwane - I think Dwane ultimately owns the quarters, the football club and the stadium. Originally Dwane Colony owned The Quarters rather than Dwane Sports, although I would imagine there is sufficient crossover and they may have taken a similar share there too, especially as they are openly talking about The Quarters as if they did.

Not sure there's any need to have the Gas Girls based there when they clearly have to train and change separately, I've no idea when the Academy train but given they are mainly school age I doubt it's during the day when the seniors train? Why wouldn't the Gas girls train there? If there isn't changing rooms we ought to build them. Iirc the revamped plans had female changing rooms too.

We seem, at least away from home, to be playing completely different football and have reverted back to 4-4-2. We seem to have gone back to last season's style of play. Not in disagreement, overall we have. But we didn't in the cup and I think we'll see more patient entries into the opposition third against passing teams. If AM really wants the job then he's likely to be more cautious and set up not to lose. If he gets the gig he may well feel emboldened to play less conservatively.
