I didn't think caryol was all that consistent, was in fine form second half of the season though. Thought montano has had good moments the games I've seen him, with luck he'll find his form for the run in!

I like mine full-bodied and black, but I'm not fussed about how my women come - so long as they do.

Slippers, my girlfriend got me slippers for Christmas. Chatting last night with her about the take over etc and how it'll hopefully make the Gas less naff, she said she wanted to get me some Rovers slippers but they didn't have any on the 'naff website', just as well I thought as they would have been naff anyway.

What do people thik of Prince Ali then? I want him to win, I like the cut of his jib. Seems likely this Sheik Salaman will win, he's got the backing of Africa and Asia and will basically continue the patronage system by which Blatter controlled the reins. Ali is the wildcard and apparently his votes will decide it in the latter rounds, fingers crossed for Infantino Fifa is duct. The sooner people start buying Pro Evolution Soccer again, the better.

I took it as him being cheesed off with NH and co for keeping it under wraps to be honest. I'm sure he would have liked to meet the new owner/chairman for reassurances/planning, but I think that will be done next week going by what Al-Qadi was saying. Thought DC said they spent half hour chatting? Or maybe that was Wael on Twentyman... Nice game of golf together next week will hopefully settle Darrel's nerves. Assuming either of them play, if not a walk along Severn beach?

UWE

Don't we, as fans want uwe to own the freehold though. 900 year lease with a peppercorn rent means our owners would never be able to borrow against the stadium or sell it or God forbid, charge the club rent. I think that there are to many risks involved in a freehold. I'd be more comfortable if they just put it up as per nicks deal. After all he had the clubs best interests at heart all those years back when the deal was first negotiated. Everything else after was him chasing that dream. Good post Lulworth! As has been said on other threads the additional revenue streams a new stadium offers are obviously a big part of the attraction the Al Qadi family has with us. However, you don't need a football club/stadium to build a conference centre/hotel/retail outlet, and it would be cheaper if the club was not part of the equation. So I'm taking a leap of faith and taking Wael's word as gospel, but you're right in your caution, who knows what might happen in the decades to come! Edit - just saw your Aldi post, I'd love an Aldi closer to me! Also, I think 2017 season is a big push, more likely 2018 surely! We wouldn't want a stadia built on dodgy foundations with chinese steel would we!?

Hmm, interesting thought. Will be interesting to see if MT does go to Hearts as incider suggested and whether we do release some players we thought we'd keep.
Also depends on which division we find ourselves next year. Maybe DC knew for a while of Wael and co and has had his hands tied regarding contracts until it all went thru. It would be good now to reward the players like Brown and Lockyer who stuck with us thru the misery with improved contracts suitable for league one, but not so generous as to put us in a precarious position in negotiations with future mercenaries!

What's the problem? It's Wael al Qadi (while al ka-dee).
Sure he'll get a nickname, but it'll be an organic process and hopefully a far cry from Toni the Till.

'We've been looking at this club for five years' - Cor!
Also good to hear him pronounce Wael, sounded like 'while' to me folks!

Good deal. Said all the right things. If they wanted to f**k about and play the football chairman they would have bought 40% of some team like Yeovil. Instead they bought all the shares they could (it seems) and talked about steady development and investment in the future, and are clearly going to build the UWE (not sure how people got the impression they might not). Going on the tweets the new owners said no more than NH has been saying over the years, I fear in a few months they'll say the UWE plans are no longer viable and they are now looking at revamping the Mem. Let's see if anything more is said in the post press conference interviews. I wish. But sadly it's Frenchay for us. Oh well, lets hope the bar at the stadium is good.

I've gone yes, in the vain hope that one way or another this is put to bed. I'm not hopeful.

It also seems from the accounts NH loans are fairly minimal for somebody of his wealth, still less than £2m, even though he's built up £10m of debts during his time as Chairman. Surely a percentage of the circa £10m debt was already there when Higgs took over. Any ideas anyone?

Because my infatuation with the Gas doesn't extend as far back as 1990 I thought I'd look at Andy Reece's wiki - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Reece - Looks like a pal from the boozers been on there. "Andy Reece loves Banks's Mild. Top geezer in the Digby Pub. He now spends most of his spare time bullying a scouse twonk called Barrington Bevan. He enjoys playing pocket billiards, walks in the park on sunny days and the music of Chesney Hawkes"

A few little improvements Mark, at a cost of course, in short - restoration, renovation, imagination.
I just don't buy the 'additional revenue streams' argument we get regarding UWE, I'm not sure the board/Watola are up to it. Nor do I swallow the 'look at Swansea/Brighton/Bournmouth' argument either. Also, Frenchay is just sh*t.

This is incorrect. The board have budgeted for crowds of 7000 this season (9000 was the figure the season we got relagated) Phew, Toni is learning then. I'm a mature student, money is tight but I don't typically begrudge paying full price as I miss a lot of games due to work, others clearly do though. Next game will be the Friday night against Cambridge, in seasons past I'd expect this to be £10 and to bring along a lot of mates who favour the gas but wouldn't typically go to games because of the cost, if terrace tickets were £15 I seriously think we'd see a few hundred added to the gate at least - off setting the £3 reduction and the fiver change from twenty quid spent in the clubhouse or on a pasty etc. Seeing as the club seem to like exploiting faux-rivalries (Yeo/Exe) I suppose the Cambridge game will be £18, still drawing a big Friday under the lights crowd, but nothing like the attendances seen in the holidays and against the pilgrims. It will be interesting to see what happens with facilities in future after the UWE fate is decided, I personally think the Mem could be a great little stadium and am not excited about the prospect of Frenchay in the slightest.
