Blimey! You know how to make a bloke feel his age, Stu. You were still at school then? I am guessing it was your last year? Did my GCSEs that year, before 6th Form in the September 👶 Guess the clue is in the username :-)

Dont want to sound arrogant about us, but having watched us water the league since December playing with some quality football. This is a very poor game to watch. Just speaking the truth I'd say. Forest Green, Exeter and ourselves were far ahead of the rest of the pack imo.

After the 7-0 win to secure promotion Barton's stock is as high as it's likely to get with us at the moment. If the Burnley opportunity is offered to him, I'd expect him to take it.

Remember this? It felt like he had completely lost it at this point. Fair play to the bloke for turning things around. That interview was so strange, we went on to best Carlisle 3-0 that weekend Watching that back now, I think it's a fantastic interview. At the time I probably thought what a load of old b*llocks he's talking!

Josh Grant did have a few dodgy touches against PV, but he's a really good player that always gives 100%. To single him out for criticism after being part of a good away win is a bit ridiculous imo.
As the OP said - he's just back from injury - I predict he will benefit massively from that 90 mins and put in a storming performance this Saturday!

I've sat in the East Stand - which I think is Poplar. Nice view, but despite the roof the wind blows the rain in and you still get soaked. On sunny days you end up having the block the sun from your eyes.
Stood on the East Terrace - not for me, totally exposed to the elements, and the dugouts obscure the view. You do get to hear the managers etc., which can get interesting.
Sat in the South West Stand - view not terrible if you're on the left side when facing the pitch, but not great anywhere else. The tent has struts holding it up which can get in the way. It's pretty sheltered though, but on windy days you can feel like your life is at risk being in there.
I don't like being behind the goal, so have rarely been at either end.
My favourite place is where I currently stand - on the west terrace. Nice and sheltered from the wind that always comes from behind the west Stand. Get high up on the terrace around the halfway line and the view is great! The singing often spreads across the terrace too.

Th simple fact is too many on here antagonise others, tbf yous are one ggmi, I’m not having a go or judging cause I don’t do that but if folk purposely try to upset others what do yous expect? But yous don’t just lose those who are attacked yous lose many, many more who just avoid th place because it’s not a place that’s fun ta view anymore. Tbf it’s been goin on a few years now. It’s why I rarely post. Ye can go to a pub an enjoy debate an banter an a few laughs , but when everyone’s arguing an winding each other up lookin for trouble….we’ll that’s when yous leave an do something else. No disrespect meant ta anyone. This is absolutely why I rarley post - well said!

Wow, I never knew Bristol Rovers fans were such a bunch of racists and sexists. Glad times are better and everyone can go to football matches without fear or ridicule. Some of the older fans are on here, I wonder what made them chose a path away from bigotry towards the enlightenment of today? With respect, ridiculing me and posting sarcastically won’t mean it never happened. And no, Bristol Rovers fans on the whole are not racist or sexist or for that matter homophobic, but believe me we have a few who are, it is getting better thankfully but if you open your eyes you’ll still see it rearing it’s ugly head now and again. I heard both racist and sexist remarks last night against Sutton. "It's a man's game referee!" may seem like an innocent enough comment, but not when I'm with two impressionable girls who both play football. It would be easy for them to feel marginalised and like they don't belong in such an environment. Some guy thought it appropriate to shout "Get back to your own country" at one of the Sutton players - I assume he knew the player wasn't English? It's not the first time I've heard stuff said just because of the colour of a player's skin. I find it interesting that the racial diversity on the pitch is in no way reflected in the crowd. The crowd is predominantly white male partly because comments like the above make it easy to feel marginalised.

Congratulations to the gas girls, definitely the best team in the league and deservedly crowned champions.
It was a poor first half performance today which ended 0-0, but they came out more determined after the break and in the end were worthy winners.
It will start to get tough next season and they are unlikely to have it all their own way. Fingers crossed they can keep progressing.

Try and get to the fruit market location by car and you will realise it will be a nightmare, I'm happy personally to drive anywhere, but would pefer it was not there unless they fundamentally improve the traffic problems there and the Brian parkin. Not a fan of renting anything. I do that drive most days and you are right. The core support from East Bristol, would find it difficult so I’m hoping there would be a park and ride or something similar. Horrid drive and rat runs are packed too. I live in Yatton and my current 40 minute drive to the mem would be replaced by a 20 minute train journey - much nicer! So I guess it's swings and roundabouts for all. I used to live in Kingswood and driving the ring road to the Brislington park and ride is not too bad. From there just jump on a bus straight down the Bath Road - should be pretty easy for most.

Let’s not forget UWE was not only leased, but gave away matchday and non matchday revenue. So hopefully a world away from what leasing at FM would mean So for everyone asking what's the difference between Fruit Market and UWE - it has to be this^^

How many leagues would they have to get promotion from to be in the same level as BCFC women ? It's not that many - 3 or 4 I think. Currently Portishead, Keynsham and Brislington are all closer to BCFC than the Gas Girls, and have more mature setups in place.

I watched the game as my daughter plays for Weston Mendip.
Gas Girls are the best team they have played this season by a country mile. They should definitely see another promotion this season!

Problem is we are from the microwave generation of instant gratification. People don’t do waiting anymore. Just be patient. But the pastry on a microwaved pasty is terrible. Much better to wait a bit longer for it to do in the oven ;-)

Personally, I like the Mem and will miss it when it's gone. It holds some really great memories for me of good times spent with my family (I tend to forget the bad stuff as time passes). A stadium has been the major talking point for Rovers fans ever since I first went to Eastville with my dad in the early 80's. Therefore I can understand the high levels of scepticism amongst the fan base that anything positive will every happen. However, it is my firm belief based on a cast iron source - that is not from within the club - that the fruit market is a goer. Yes, it may still not happen, but I think we are as close - possibly even closer - than we were with UWE. As for why we don't hear anything, I would say there are a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is a very delicate situation. The Fruit Market employs hundreds of people, all of whom will be wondering what the future of their jobs are. Will they have a job? Will their job relocate? What redundancy might they get? If their employers do not yet have the answers to these questions, they are hardly likely to want public announcements to be made by any party. Doing so could have a serious adverse affect on their business. Secondly, I think there are less people with loose lips within the club. Those people have been moved on which means confidential information stays "in-house". Thanks garystash, I have always trusted your information on here, going back years. Obviously you can't say too much for the very reasons you've described, but do you have any inkling for what sort of timescale we might expect before we hear any further information from the club or other parties? This would ideally be announcements of actual plans? Are we talking months or years, or simply the length of a piece of string? The only timescales I know of are a 3-5 year estimate for planning to go through. That is for the regeneration of the whole area, not just the stadium. I'd love to know when we'll hear something concrete from the club. I hope not too long, but I honestly have no insight into that.

A bid for the Fruit Market has been accepted. A stadium for Rovers is only part of a huge redevelopment of the St. Phillips area. All the planning for the rejuvenation will take 3-5 years to go through, so you won't be able to pick your seat just yet 😂 Have we not been told the same thing, a number of times now?? Have you heard this from a good source? Or is it guess work?? It's a good source. I don't expect anyone to trust or believe what I say and that's fine. I deliberated for about a week over whether to post anything. I decided there's been so much negativity around lately that we could all do with some positive news.
