An alternative theory is that GoA is a carpenter and the birds just long to be close to him. š Jesus was a carpenter so I can understand why you might make that association. Just to clarify because I donāt want to get bogged down in this speculation again, I am NOT the living incarnation of Jesus. Alright, have it Yahweh.

ā¦the āform filling authorisation formā and has questions like āwhy do birds suddenly appear?ā :-) Itās the swarming of insects that attract the birds, or they could be massing in preparation for migration. Twitcher in the house. An alternative theory is that GoA is a carpenter and the birds just long to be close to him. š

I just looked at the fixture list and was curious as to why there are no games scheduled in February. Does anyone know the answer? Is it cup competitions?

I think that the new recruits will force others to raise their game today so Iām confident that we will look more like the team that finished last season. Morecambe have just been on the end of a 0-4 home defeat to MK, the club has just been put up for sale and they are only one place off the foot of the table so I suspect that they wonāt be oozing confidence. Having said that they have new loans from Huddersfield and Celtic to bolster their ranks but I have faith that JB will have the team up for this one. Iām going for a slow start but 2-0 by the final whistle (Finley, Collins) with an assist from Jasper, and playing proper football! UTG

Expect him to play at least some part tonight. With Bruno G and Maximin out and Longstaff not excelling, he may even start. At least weāve prepared him for high scoring games! š

Do you mean we both have and do not have a new stadium at the same time, and cannot know which until someone looks? More that the Fruit Market proposal is both alive and dead and no one knows which it is Well that explains the site investigation if they are concerned that there might be radioactive material and hydrocyanic acid present, although it has taken longer than an hour to determine the results. š

I just watched the Danny Cowley pre-match interview and he was bigging up their support the same way JB does. He was also giving us respect for last season, Burton and particularly the Oxford result. The only cringe moment was referencing the āfirst team from Bristol to get to the Premier Leagueā aspirational quote from JB. Not sure why, but I think that we will get a long overdue result there today. UTG.

Weird song if you can call it that but does make me feel emotional! ā¦āThe greatest commencement speech ever was the one that has long been attributed to Kurt Vonnegut, but that was really a column written by Mary Schmich for the Chicago Tribune about a speech she would have liked to give to a graduating class. It includes this famous line: ā If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.ā Somebody decided to post it on the Internet as a Vonnegut speech at MIT in 1997, and it became an urban legendā. āIn 1999, Baz Luhrmann released a song called "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" in which this column is read word for word as written by Schmich, who gave permission and receives royalties. This song was a number one hit in several countriesā.

Heard a rumour Whale is thinking of jumping ship ā¦or maybe as a corporate raider he will asset strip the stadium and liquidate the playing side as a loss making entity. š

Neighbours (Brian and Nigel England if anyone remembers them) took me as a treat to see us beat Tranmere 1-0 in April 74, as I had just turned 6 and they had forgotten my birthday. I was hooked much to my old manās annoyance as heās, ahemā¦a red. š

Looking at the bench JB really meant what he said about giving youth a chance (apart from Whelan, obviously).

Tough call today - weāre lacking bodies and have a young ish defence and Burton are a typical physical and direct side that we tend to struggle against. Add in that weāve never won away at the Pirelli then it doesnāt bode wellā¦. BUT (perhaps stupidly!) I think weāll win - 3-1ā¦ I think weāll see a change in formation with 3 at the backā¦ Belshaw Gibbo Connolly Hoole Anderson Evans Finley Saunders Collins Loft Marquis 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-3 formation Potentially could take Loft out and put Collins with Marquis and then bring Jones in to play behind the front 2ā¦. I think Kilgour isnāt fully fit so expect to see him on the benchā¦ My intuition about us having a new LB available today was right all alongā¦ gonna change my line to: Belly Gibbo Hoole Connolly Gordon Finley Anderson Evans Lawrence Collins Marquis Oooohā¦.so close! š

Is this new lad likely to be first choice left back? If so, presumably back 5 of: Belly Gordon Connoly NEW SIGNING (Hoole for time being) Gibbons .... that correct? It looks like he has been given the number 3 shirt so that would suggest that he is going to be first choice.

Really gutted for Nick and his family as they have to live with this too. I was saddened to read that this form of cancer mostly happens to young people and can sometimes be attributed to rapid bone growth in tall people (Nickās 6ā2ā) and sports injuries. However it is encouraging that great strides have been made with treatment in recent years, especially with an early diagnosis, so thereās every reason to believe he can win this battle especially with the fighting spirit heās shown on the pitch.
Everyoneās rooting for you Nick, not only the Gas family but across the football community as typified by Jamille Mattās pre match interview. Stay strong, stay positive and know that we are with you every step of the way. That lamp post is waiting. You can do this!

Iāve been thinking about this for a while. Iāve always fancied the idea of designing a stadium so rather than vent our collective spleens over the perceived lack of activity, how about we come up with our own theoretical proposals? I need to get to grips with some new software and we could use the exercise to explore the fan baseās wish list of facilities. We could look at a couple of different configurations (straight sided and bowl) and for a range of capacities which I will then drop on a couple of different sites and generate a few visuals that you all crave. Interested? If so, I will start a new thread and get cracking!
