There are some pretty stupid comments in this thread condoning going on the pitch. Wankers all of them. A large portion of the crowd had had a drink or two including myself. I and everyone else got just as excited as the arse holes who got over the hoardings but even in our drunken excitement managed to stay in our spots. And to those doubting wether those that got onto the pitch had had a drink I can confirm some had had a skin full and some were 50+ including the tosser who was nabbed by the stewards and ejected. All should be identified and banned. were you near the back though? Doesn't matter where he was stood! No matter how much you have to drink, you know what the rules are and you now the potential punishment! I totally agree with you Sean!! What would those wankers think if they then found that we've been deducted points and missed out on promotion, either automatic, or by playoffs? Anyone defending them cannot call themselves a supporter of my club!

Got that same feeling, but then I've had that feeling for the past 58 years, every time we play! Forever the pessimist! Glass half empty! It's never been as good as it has been the past few weeks.......I guess it'll take a few years to change the previous mentality!

Wimbledon v Portsmouth 0-0 Barnet v Luton 2 -1 Cambridge v Oxford Utd 1-1 Carlisle v Bristol Rovers 0-1 Crawley v Exeter 2-1 Leyton Orient v Hartlepool 2-2 Mansfield v Northampton 0-2 Newport v Accrington 1-2 Notts County v Wycombe 2-1 Plymouth v York 0-1 Think the last two are wishful thinking and perhaps even the fourth, although the optimist in me keeps hoping!

Just watched this on Sky and TBH, I don't think we would have anything to fear if we go up via automatics, or via the play-offs. Both those teams looked no better than we have been through the season and I've seen most of the good and the bad games. Burton are not quite runaway leaders like Northampton, but I suspect they'll go up and think they might struggle in the Championship (A La Sheeds!), whereas I don't think we would struggle in League 1, provided we don't lose Lockyer/Taylor (and with perhaps a couple of additions?). Thoughts???

No, this is far better. You can win decent money, but not enough to put one over the other lot. Just feel so sad about good lads I remember from the Tote End days who have missed this, not to mention two people who helped us survive to see this, namely Denis Dunford and Ron Craig. God bless em all, and those close to you guys that you have lost. I know exactly how you feel! My dad and my uncle who first took me to Eastville in 1957, for my 5th birthday would be gutted. They only lived to see us at Twerton and not at the Mem, but I remember their constant comments about not having a decent ground. After many 'false dawns', I'm still reluctant to believe that the UWE will happen and I was beginning to doubt you about the takeover, but you were right and I apologize for any/all of the doubters on here! My Dad knew DD well and said that he would be the man to save us. Unfortunately, he never lived to see that happen. I'm sure he's 'up there' today saying "I told you we would get a proper ground eventually". I do hope he's right!

Thought he came over very well in his interview, felt it was a slip of the tongue and he meant to say five months. In fact he was involved in brokering the deal to bring the new owners in. As regards his time at Swansea, as he said they were promoted from League Two when he was there, but added he was running his own business in Piccadily at the time and was not easy shuffling between the two. He added he now had no other fulltime commitments and was going to be a putting all his efforts into the task ahead. In summary I personally think we have two great blokes at the helm and am quite sure we won't end up on the rocks. Agree with you. Good talker and much more comfortable in front of the camera than NH ever was! Seems genuinely keen to take on the challenge. Time will tell whether he prefers watching the team to playing golf on a Saturday!

None of us would actually be on this forum if he hadn't closed down the OF back in 2014! We've at least been able to criticise, complain, argue and abuse (occasionally) without fear of any comeback from the club (as long as it has not been libellous). I thank him for the money he's put into the club and the fact that he got the UWE project ready to go, but don't thank him for the way he ran the club and managed to get us out of the league. I'm sure he's getting most, if not all, of his money back from the deal, or he wouldn't be much of a businessman. He is/was always a gashead at heart, but I bet the head took over in the end! Thanks Nick!
