A lot of people don’t like him but if I was a Boro fan, in the position they’re in, I wouldn’t have wished for anyone different as an appointment. I can't stand him, but then he's not there to be liked.

The Bristol Post (Bristol Live) commented on the new stadium in an article this morning : "Speculation is rife on social media that something is imminent, but Bristol Live understands that not to be the case, though the outlook is a lot brighter than it has been for several years." Bristol post is probably the only source that is less reliable than speculation.

Wael has been slatted on this forum many times so apologise should be given by certain posters Now the doubters need to back Ben Garner-he was brought in by Wael so time for all to get behing the GAS for a definite roller coaster I think most true rovers fans on here would gladly do so. For my part I can't pretend I haven't had doubts about where Weal was taking us. Though I've never doubted his intentions I wasn't convinced he was capable of taking the club forward. This amazing statement proves Weals commitment if it was ever in doubt and has given us real hope, after so many false dawns. That we can finally get a club that our support deserves.

For me Ellis Harrison almost every time he came on as substitute. He was the ultimate supersub, I can't think of another player who could have such an influence coming on as sub. Halifax away is one game that sticks in my mind where we were two down and heading for a big defeat and slipping a couple of places. Ellis came on and ran their defense ragged and we came away with a point and were back in the promotion race.

I think I would go for Matty Taylor, he knows where the goal is and most of those mentioned above would be too old now anyway. He was ok but missed a lot to, his misses nearly cost us promotion v Daggers, but entitled to be chosen, also bit of time travel involved in this thread and players allowed to be 'magically ' transported to present age ! That is harsh, much as I will never forgive snakey. I have to admit we would not have been in a promotion position without his goals.

Very sad to read this Norman was a hero of mine and part of the great Leeds United side of the 70s before he joined that lot. He was probably the reason they survived 4 seasons in the top league. Another sad loss to this awful disease. RIP Norman

Banister and Warboys was the best strike partnership we have ever had in my time so my vote goes to Smash and Grab.

Has it occurred to anybody that maybe all the egos, inflated personas, infighting, backstabbing, wannabe pugilists, uninvited guests at press conferences, uninvited guests at training ground, relatives of old board members, relatives of staff, keyboard warriors, egotistical old boys club members are the reason for lack of progress under the Al Qadis? They must have come in and thought, why does he want to know that? Why do they need to say that? Why is he turning up here? Clowns. All clambering for snippets of info because you think it earns you kudos. To be honest I'm finding it quite amusing watching the most self important windbags on here embarrass themselves beyond recocognition while trying to blacken the reputations of former and present servants of this club. Sadly none of this is going any way towards solving or even explaining the present situation that exists between the shareholders of this club.

Sad news a great goalkeeper and Chelsea legend. Unfairly criticized for the 1970 World Cup loss against a West German side who in truth ran England ragged in the second half. RIP the cat

Even though everyone knew he was a red. I didn't see many people at twerton not celebrating when Marcus Stewart was knocking them in. I honestly don’t believe players think like that. I think players allegiance is to the club they represent or the shirt they wear. Who a player grew up supporting has no bearing on it imo.

Haven't we got enough to worry about in life at the moment without posters trying to make something out of nothing at Rovers? Apologies, I certainly wasn't trying to make something out of nothing. Not sure what further investigation I should have done? I get a bit confused with all the different offshoot companies connected to Rovers, and thought that others might have some insight. I certainly have plenty of other things to worry about in my life, as do we all in the current situation. However, this part of the forum is to talk about things related to Bristol Rovers, which gives me something else to think about, if only for a short while. Probably best if I give posting a break for a while - whatever happened to the recent talk of people being nice to each other. Not ashamed to admit that I am in bits after your responses. You should not be apologising Topper’s post is totally out of order. I know how such responses can make you feel and I think posters should think before pressing the post button. So sorry you have been upset, but I hope the positive feedback you have had on here makes you feel a little better.

Ah one team Bristol almost happened around about 1982 happy days. Don't get me wrong I can't stand the runts but with hindsight one United city/rovers team would surely have had more success than either team has done in the forty plus years I've been watching. I'm afraid I don't agree. I think a city this size should have two succesful football teams.

Which brings me to a subject i have often had, what say in the 1960s city and rovers had joined forces, one team, one forty thousand stadium, great away support, and im sure top class football would have been played here many seasons ago, along the lines of norwich, swansea, cardiff etc, whats your thoughts? That is a disgusting idea whats the matter with you ?

There’s one I can think of, but can’t remember his name. What was the name of that player? I can’t remember. Didn’t he end up at oxford on loan? We could have done with him for our promotion push a couple of seasons back. snaky McSnake.

Can honestly say the thought has never entered my mind. Their players are city players I know they have had good players and some great players, but while they are with them I just see the red shirt and not the player in it.

What will be the financial impact of playing games behind closed doors for efl clubs? Could the loss of.matchday revenue and sponsorship threaten the survival of some? No one knows.......................................................
