Not sure if been already said but this Gas team is a team of history makers. No team in football league history has ever had to score so many goals to beat another team to promotion. Also, this is the first time in our history that we have won a league game by a seven (7) goal margin. So, Joey Barton’s history makers.

Hope those who thought the board made a big mistake in taking on Joey Barton are eating their words. Joey will now be known as the miracle worker in getting us promoted. Will we ever recover from this incredible result. Talk about being in 7th Heaven! Has there ever been a result like this on the final day of the season in league football?

Ahead of the important fixture with Scunthorpe this weekend, we would like to provide a number of reminders for supporters prior to the game. Firstly, we are aware of concern amongst fans that tickets were purchased with a view to being sold on for a profit. The club will be monitoring social media sites and anyone selling tickets on these will have the tickets cancelled with no refunds issued. All supporters are reminded that tickets are non-transferable and it is a criminal offence to sell tickets on. Those found to be doing so may be prosecuted. Given the match is sold out, if there are any season ticket holders that are unable to attend the game, please let us know. In these scenarios, we are able to cancel your tickets and make them available for supporters to purchase. Any supporters without tickets will not be permitted onto the site. Random ticket checks will take place. Supporters with tickets for the South section of the East Terrace will need to gain access to the stadium via turnstiles 24-46 and are to exit the stadium next to the Club Shop. We’d encourage all supporters to arrive at the stadium as early as possible as additional searching regimes will be in place prior to entry. We expect the Thatchers Bar to reach full capacity so we’d advise all supporters to arrive early if you are planning on using that space. Once we reach capacity, no further entry will be permitted. Those supporters with car parking are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to secure their space. Access to the car park will not be permitted after 2.30pm as we are expecting congestion with vehicles and pedestrian traffic due to the scale of the fixture. Any supporters attending the match and wishing to make use of the Fanzone pre-match are not permitted to bring any alcohol onto the site or any bottles or cans. There will be additional checks prior to entry and any items brought onto the site will be confiscated. There will be additional bars installed in the Fanzone to help meet demand. Supporters are reminded that anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated. Every supporter in a seated area must sit in their allocated seat as every area is sold out. Supporters in a terrace area must remain in the area where their ticket is purchased. Supporters are not permitted to stand in any stairways at the stadium. The club has a zero-tolerance policy on the usage of any pyrotechnics on site. Those that are found in possession of or using any pyro will be identified and sanctioned. Visiting supporters attending the game should access the stadium via Trubshaw Close. All of the above guidance has been produced in cooperation with our Safety Advisory Group, with a view to ensuring that the day is as safe as possible for all supporters. We’d like to thank all supporters for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you all to The Mem this weekend.

WOW….Mansfield just draw and Port Vale lose…what a fantastic day of League 2 football we will have on Saturday. Can FGR win or draw at Mansfield. Will Barrow beat or draw with Northampton? Willl Port Vale get a result at Exeter? And Bristol Rovers? Just play a normal game to beat Scunthorpe. Let’s hope everyone got nerves of steel for a nerve racking final day.

Agree with most on this - if player caught spitting at an opponent then it’s a straight Red Card. It can also be classified as an assault. There’s an huge health and safety issue as well. It’s just a vile thing to do at someone.

Let’s hope we beat Rochdale as they got decent home record. 3 points is a must or else it’s the playoffs.

Bkackpool '90 all over again. Blackpool was really great with over 7000 gasheads. Be great if we could get close to 4000 at Rochdale. But of course, everything hinges on Saturdays result against FGR.

To take 3,000 plus to greater manchester would be really fantastic. So let’s do it…all roads (well M5 and M62) lead to Rochdale.

FGR are top of the table and have been most of the season. Yet, they struggle to get a crowd of 3,000. Even in League 1, they might get over 3,000 only because a larger away support then league 2. FGR will not be able to attract new fans from anywhere. Up the road you have Cheltenham and down the road you have us and the reds. Even with their new 6,000 capacity stadium, FGR will struggle for fill it.

If Rovers attain promotion and do well in Division1 there could well be a number of fans unable to obtain match day tickets at limited capacity ground. Potential new fans will soon lose interest! I’ve said this a couple weeks ago, but at this moment in time, the current state of the memorial stadium is holding the club back. The stadium is not fit for the crowds we would expect when we are doing well. Once again, talk of a new stadium is non-existent. At this rate, we will never ever leave the memorial stadium and we will be left behind by clubs who believe in their future. Can this be said of our present owner and the other people running Bristol Rovers Football Club?

How many advance tickets have we sold for today? And how many are expected to pay on the Gate?

What ever people say, it’s no doubt that the Mem as it is at present is holding back our football club. We need a new ground now as a matter of urgency. If no land can be found in the next 18 months to 2 years, then we need to completely rebuild the Mem starting with the East (centenery) Stand. Maybe keep the thatchers terrace and build a seated stand above. The current capacity is not fit for purpose. We need action on the ground NOW.

With a virtual full house of 9,700 expected tomorrow, the Memorial Stadium in its present condition is holding the club back. It’s at times like these when the teams doing well that we need a bigger capacity stadium.
