Morning 'gasheads'. Welcome to the conference. I know, like us, you want to be a couple of leagues higher than this hellhole of a league but you may have to be patient. I think the last time a team got promoted in their first season down here after relegation was 1989 or 90. Teams struggle to adapt when down here initially, as much with the mental side of it as anything else. It can't be easy playing in front of 500 fans at some of these village grounds with no atmosphere. And you lot will no doubt be expecting your team to walk over the part-time teams you've never really noticed before like Braintree, Dartford, Welling, Nuneaton and Alfreton. And you will inevitably lose to some of these small teams. In our first season down (and possibly beyond) when we lost to some of these small clubs plenty of fans had the view of "We're Grimsby Town, we shouldn't be losing to the likes of.......". We've probably come to accept now (generally) that we're in the same league as these teams on merit, and although there is still an expectation of us to beat most teams, there isn't the uproar when we don't. There's plenty of historically FL clubs down here now, but we are the scalps for the rest to take as they raise they're game. The standard of football can be mixed. It's been said by many that teams get it down and play more in this league than in League Two. But you also get some very direct, physical teams. One thing that you will pick up on, and will infuriate you, is the timewasting and slowing the game down every time the ball goes out of play tactics that many of the lower sides employ. And the refereeing is worse than anything you'll have seen before, they let them get away with it as well as being shocking. There's always plenty of games postponed in the winter months, and that combined with the FA Trophy games being played on Saturdays (thus causing a lot of league games to be re-arranged) means there's always a fixture pile-up in the last few months. Wenger, Mourinho and co wouldn't be able to cope with the 4 games in 7 days you may have to experience. One of the good things about being down here is being able to visit some decent places. Plenty of new grounds for you to go to with really friendly atmospheres where the fans mix well before and sometimes during the game. Like us, no doubt you will travel in good numbers, but it will not be reciprocated by most. It's a regular sight at Blundell Park seeing 10-25 fans in the away end. Only a few break 100. Anyway all the best, apart from Saturday. I cant wait to go back to Sunny Cleethorpe to see and smell the might Grimsby. Been long time, 1974, when i went for my only time to see the Gas play Grimsby. I bet the grounds not changed much in all those years. So i look forward to going again.

Im sure that after a long journey the Bristol Room at the Mem will give you a hearty welcome....not unless the spoilers who run the clubhouse decide to stop away fans for this game..but i say let ALL away fans in..we need their money!!!!!

What have we got to do to get our brand new stadium? Why are so many obsticles being put in our way? Are the people out there who want to destroy Bristol Rovers. Why oh Why does it happen to us? If UWE doesnt got ahead, then our club will slowly die!

There are a number of unallocated units. The banquet hall as mentioned by 1883. This can host boxing etc. They have licence/pp for 3 events off season-shows/concerts. The bar is open year round. Gymnasium open to public. Rovers store. There is an unallocated space under one of the stands, again touched upon by 1883. TW sounded confident that the door will be knockiing once building starts with interested parties for the units/space. Sorry if this sounds sarcastic but do you think this sounds like a "gold mine" ? UWE Already have a bigger and better Conference and Exhibition Centre on their campus which has been open since 2010 and which they obviously have experience in managing. UWE also have a large modern gym and sports centre on their campus which is open to the public and again which they have experiencing in managing. Who are the customers going to be for Rovers facilities when there are bigger and better established facilities right next door ? Why would students traipse across to an empty stadium building to use a convenience store or have a drink when there are already subsidised facilities on their campus. And how would Rovers compete with these facilities ? Do they have innovative ideas which UWE have not thought of ? Or would they have to slash prices below Student Union levels and so hardly make any profit ? Which leaves the Rovers souvenir shop ! Again I'm sorry to say it but Mr Watola's remark about people "knocking on the door" sounds like typical Rovers arrogance. I am doubtful if any real homework or market research has been done to discover who will be the customers for these facilities and what financial revenue can be achieved. We can brush these issues under the carpet and tell ourselves "the directors will have it all covered" but that would be ignoring the lessons of our recent history. Have to ask this, but has all this been brought up at the recent Q&A session? If not, why not? All i hear on this so-called forum is doom and gloom. Has the new BRISA said anything to the Football Club regarding facilities already being used at UWE? Is there a bigger agenda somewhere? Surely this subject should had been top of the Q&A agenda. So please, when there another oppurtunity to ask questions to the board, make sure this subject is top of the list!

I just been having another look at the new kit for next season and think we may have a slight problem with the away shirt. If im correct, Forest Green Rovers and Grimsby Town play in black & White stripes? If so, could the be a colour clash with both our kits? would we need a 3rd kit to be on the safe side if someone degrees we cant wear either of our new strips?

Hopefully this is a good signing and possibily what we want in the conference. With the season getting ever closer, things are taking shape. Roll on August 9th i say! I just wonder.....will the club change their Sky package so we see BT Sports in the Bars?

Yeah i suppose it good that our game with Grimsby is on BT Sports....however....if im correct, i dont think BT Sports is on the package that the football club has. So unless the club changes its SKY package, we wont be able to see any of the build up to the game in the bars!

I think it time to put this baby to bed. There is noting anyone can do now. We got releagated because the team of players wernt good enough. Darryl Clarke is assembling a new team and soon we get the fixtures. So, instead of upsetting the Bod with yet more questions that have already been answered, lets all just get behind the new team. We are where we are. We dont want any more disruption. Just except we are in the conference Premiership. So come on guys, give it a rest!

Next Wednesday's game at the Mem is going to be a bit of an anto climax. Bristol Rugby was hoping the ending of rugby at the Mem would coincide with promotion to the Rugby Premiership. But after losing 27-8, a deficit of 29 points, to London Welsh, the dream of premiership rugby next season has all but evapourated. And as quite a few rugby fans dont relish the idea of going to Ashton, i can see them having lower gates next season then they have has this season. Could be very worrying times for Bristol Rugby!

Think a run in the FA Trophy might be a good thing. Gives us the chance to win a Trophy at long last!
