Amongst the negativity... I thought Johnson CH was exactly what we have been looking for, some great first touches, holding up balls that stefan Payne would have lost. I'm more hopeful now than I was before today's match. Lines seems to have lost it and Partington is def not a right back, needs to be right side midfield or not at all. Felt sorry for reilly and tn as they had zero service and was surprised we didn't change the midfield instead of strikers. Id like to see Johnson CH and Nicholls start. Cannot understand why JCH didn't start the game.

He was more effective today when holmes-dennis appeared to push further forward and sercombe seemed to more central. We went 5-3-2/3-5-2 at half time to match Shrewsbury formation. Today proved Sercs can't play left wing, which is a concern as we don't seem to have anyone else who can on the wing. We didn't change formation at HT, after Ogogo was fortunate not to be sent off in the 2nd half he swapped positions with Sercombe (I assume to reduce the risk of him being sent off).

Not quite sure why it was so absurd to send Bonham up in the final minute of the game. It was clearly a risk, but putting an extra body in the box could have possibly resulted in something happening. Our goal difference isn’t really a major issue currently so one more conceded isn’t exactly a disaster.

The most important thing last night was getting a vital 3 points, and whilst it wasn’t exactly beautiful football we perhaps got a little of the luck that has escaped us in some of the other tight games that we lost by the odd goal.
That being said, we were all over the place for the first 20-25 minutes, playing Ollie Clark as a No 10 ahead of Sercombe was a bizarre decision as he offers very little creativity. If OC is starting (and I would personally prefer Lines alongside Upson), he has to play deeper and was much better when the two were switched.
What doesnt seem to have been referenced so far was the fact that DC had Payne stripped and ready to come on after 13 minutes which would have been purely for tactical reasons - we need to be making better starts to games if we are serious about picking up points against some of the better sides.

Slightly left field suggestion but I wonder about TL playing a defensive midfield role sat in front of the back four, allowing potentially Lines and (a fit) Sercombe to push forward.

Slocombe Locks Broadbent Clark Leads J Clarke Upson Sercs O Clarke Bennett Nichol I can't see how we can afford not to play Broadbent as otherwise the whole team is under 6" apart from Locks. O Clark will give us some bite in midfield over Matthews. With Reilly not being fully fit we can't risk him from the start as we'll be knackered if he only lasts 15 mins or so as we'll have no other strikers on the bench so Nichols will have to start. A real backs to the wall performance needed I fear. O Clarke is suspended

Have tried a couple of different VPNs (that worked fine last season) today without success hoping that I will be able to watch the game tomorrow. Anyone had any joy?

SC may not have helped the situation but it's a bit strong to suggest he was behind PT not replacing Elliott & Dish whilst bringing in the likes of Bright & Regan. The fact PT has failed everywhere else as a manager suggests that management is not cut out for him. True. A lot laid at PTs door that year. But to refuse to play for Dave Penney because he wanted the caretaker gig until the end of the season himself instead of getting behind the cause and actually doing what he was contracted to do and actually play for the club was unforgivable.. The 8 or 9 games Penney had was spent fighting the Trollope club in the dressing room. Danny Coles and Byron Anthoney also being part of the toxic bunch leading the coup. When Cams did get the gig, the football was no better, there was no more leadership than there was before and he ultimately got us relegated. Chris Lines was a young footballer far better than the L2 we dropped to and he got a move to a championship club at the end of the window. Buckle also refused to play Lines in his opening 2 games! The performances were much better when Campbell took over (Yeovil away stands out) , personally I believe if he had taken over a few weeks earlier we would have stayed up.

It must have been hard to work under Buckle but to sabotage the club in the way that he seemingly did was an insult to the fans and hugely arrogant. I'm surprised anyone would consider bringing him back to the club in any capacity. What absolute nonsense.

If it was most improved, it would be Ellis by a mile. If it is for the best player over the course of the season however (so far), it has to be Sercombe.

Anyone for a sweepstake as to what time the game will be called off? I would guess a local ref will be called in to assess it at lunchtime ish - my bet will be 12:30 postponement.

Been our best player all season by a long shot. Better than Sercombe?!? No chance. Ellis works hard but his output isn't good enough to put him in that category.

DC clearly doesn't fancy him, so I expect to see him going out on loan to free up space/wages to bring someone else in. So why did DC sign him, Panic buy at the time ? Maybe, he wasn't getting in the Port Vale team but clearly DC felt he was worth giving an opportunity to.

An alternative view is that the team (which DC has built) are performing poorly which has understandably attracted criticism, and comments like this at this time (which I personally don't disagree with) deflect the attention somewhat...

I'm abroad currently but when trying to purchase for the game only I can only get the UK monthly or annual option? Nothing for the €6 match rate?
