The part that the Barton bashers (because it has to be his fault, right?!) are missing is in the detail of what he actually said.
Sounds very much to me like Belly has a potential option for a move lined up that he’s pushing… Think JB has played this perfectly correctly. You saw the team ethic after the second goal, we don’t want that disrupted in any way.

Belly asked for a move on sat morning, a week after his agent asked on the first sat morning of the season. Not a team player according to Barton as you should support the man wearing the jersey. That’s the end of him at the club . Belly should be gone by the end of the transfer window according to Barton. If he is here past the deadline then there will be discussions. Where did you get this from fellas? Did I miss Joe on the radio? x.com/bbcbristolsport/status/1691524984085118976?s=46&t=MJRnlbItBvy9hgvab5lAIA

Don't think it is anything to do with SC. Saw it come up on Facebook, free ticket to match. Is that why the sarcasm as not a SC idea? 🤷♂️ Sounds like a good initiative to me, I’m sure there are some who would love to help, and save some money/get a ticket that otherwise couldn’t, without needing to be part of the SC crew, as it was in years past

One of the all time great commentators, not just in Football but sport full stop. Remember him commentating on our FA Cup 3rd Round game against Liverpool at Twerton. Kept calling Boris, David Meeehew🙂 Yes, as a kid, I used to watch and listen on loop to his commentary of Carl Saunders goal on my recording of the highlights. Probably the best to pick up the mic 🎙️

The proposed new pirate in the the survey made be want to cry. It was just a head and looked nothing like a pirate. Whoever came up with that should be sacked. It really is that bad. Looks more like Adam Ant than a pirate!

Let’s not forget UWE was not only leased, but gave away matchday and non matchday revenue. So hopefully a world away from what leasing at FM would mean

What about new home and away shirts alternative seasons. So each season there would be a new shirt but it would last for 2 years. Other clothing could also be rotated to maintain reasonable income streams. Yes pretty sure we did this in the 90’s.

I like his support for his staff but how can he honestly say that they are that good? Aside from the CT, which departments are really brilliant? Media team - even basic spelling and grammar errors ie Oxford shown as 7pm ko in one place and 7.45 elsewhere. Youngsters wished bust of luck repeatedly. Marketing team - even in the Graydon era we sold more hospitality, had more player sponsorship and more non football/rugby events at the stadium. ie created more revenue. Catering - was fantastic under Robert Laurance. Great hospitality food, great pasties. Now overpriced, small quantity and seemingly TG is looking to outsource to outside contractors at every opportunity. Social events organiser - Queen cancelled, one Xmas Party, one Xmas lunch. Not close to sold out yet. Shop - whilst pleasant enough, the new staff quite often don't know answers to very simple Rovers questions. Probably a bit unfair as Clare et al really knew their stuff. Programme- even with a very limited budget at Twerton, when run by volunteers, it was better than this seasons. When errors occur surely someone at the club should be proactive. Look at the ST fiasco. Only a few people had personal replies to messages they sent to Tom. Once it was discovered to be a problem, it should have been announced to everyone, with an explanation of what the club were doing to resolve it. Instead it just dragged on and on. Quite often you get more info on the forum. Same as the alleged domestic abuse and the holocaust comment. It is not good business or service just to ignore issues and hope they go away. I'm not suggesting TG should treat the rest of the staff like JB treated Thomas (imagine someone being treated like that in your place of work?) but as the man in charge TG really needs the staff to improve a lot. Sounds like somebody really misses the old guard? I’m sure if you asked Tom, he would happily explain how the changes brought in have absolutely increased our commercial revenue/sponsorship

Interesting this puts blame on the club for Two Mile Hill closing, whilst the statement at the time of closure says merchandise and ticket sales were removed as a result of the store not being economically viable…but now they are suggesting a different version to fit their narrative? www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-supporters-club-shop-1026632“However, the cost of running and maintaining the shop far exceeds the revenue generated. With that in mind, tickets and merchandise sales will no longer be offered at Kingswood beyond the present season. The Football Club is bringing about changes that will facilitate all sales at The Memorial Stadium and online.” Think about this. The SC obtained mercandise from the FC at cost price to sell in a shop and any profit that was made went towards the cost of the shop rather than the FC, a shop that went to rack and ruin. It took TG to point that out and then stop supplying the shop with free merchandise for it to close, otherwise the SC would have bimbled along costing the club money and profit on merchandise to this day probably. 100% agree.

Supporters Club Statement on 50/50 by Sam Parsons | Aug 16, 2021 | 50:50, News As you will be aware, if you attended Saturday’s match, there were no 50/50 draw tickets on sale at the Memorial Stadium. The reason for this is that the Club’s Commercial Director informed the Supporters Club that he didn’t want us selling tickets because he wanted to take the draw in house, despite the fact that the draw has never been anything other than a Supporters Club initiative since its inception on the Rovers return to Bristol in 1996. The Supporters Club has always provided sellers and workers (all volunteers), and paid for the tickets, programme trolleys and all necessary equipment under our City Council Licence throughout. The draw now provides our main source of income but the entire profit goes to the Football Club in the formof donations made regularly to the Youth Academy, the Development Squad and the Ladies teams operated by the Community Trust, all at no cost to the Football Club which would become responsible for these expenses should the 50/50 draw be taken over. In addition to taking over the 50/50 Draw the Board has demanded a payment of £50,000 from the Supporters Club “to support and sustain the training ground”- The Quarters at Almondsbury. This money was raised by us from the sale of our Kingswood shop that we had to close when all ticketing and souvenir sales were taken away leaving it economically unviable. With this money the Committee had intended to purchase spectator facilities and dugouts on a No.1 pitch, played on exclusively by the U-18’s and Development teams, for supporters who attend these matches. The equipment was to remain the property of the Supporters Club so that it could be transferred to another pitch if necessary. Informal discussions regarding this arrangement took place with the then Supporters Club Director and the Football Club, though no formal agreement was ever put in place. The Committee’s reaction to the Club’s demand for £50,000 was one of shock, as it came with no formal discussion taking place, simply a request to pay the money immediately. It should be said, at this point, that the money, if agreed, would go towards the specific items listed above, for the Bristol Rovers Training Ground, not a training ground owned by a third party. To the best of my knowledge neither the U-18 side or the Development side have yet played any matches at that venue. The Supporters Club’s decision, as a gesture of goodwill, was to offer to donate £25,000 now with a further £25,000 next year in exchange for us retaining full control of the 50/50 Draw which would continue to provide the funding. Our offer was made to the Commercial Director of the Football Club who, at the time of writing, has not responded, though he is attempting to contact all of our volunteer matchday staff to hold a meeting with them tomorrow afternoon. Quite what his agenda is I don’t know, but I felt that you should all know that it was his decision to sell matchday programmes in house and his decision to take control of the 50/50 Draw and although I have seen instances of blame being laid at the door of the Supporters Club, this simply is not true. Jim Chappell, Chairman, BRSC. Interesting (and pretty astute for non-Gasheads) discussion of PT's tenure. (Not sure what the 'outsourced recruitment company' thing is supposed to mean) As soon as he started talking about the specifics or us, BG, the set up here, it was clear he didn’t have a clue and I switched off.

TW wasn't on the board when Tisdale was appointed, he was only appointed on to the board at the same time as PT's appointment? He was on the recruitment panel he said so at the time. No reason to suggest that he’s telling the truth when he says he hasn’t been involved in the recruitment this time either. Why is everything such a conspiracy? Can’t we just let the club get on with the process? Too long, too short, too involved, not involved enough. Crap recruitment, good recruitment. Club can’t do anything right. I might be wrong but didn’t TW make a comment last night about not being sure if they were going for an interview process, or going about the appointment like last time (which might suggest there wasn’t much involvement/opportunity to grill Tisdale prior to appointment) ?

How do we know that TW didn’t present a number of attacking options to PT, and he turned them down (holding out for Stockley)?
Lots of talk blaming TW, but for all we know there could have been a number of realistic candidates scouted to bring in.
Ultimately signing a player (or not) is the managers call...
