The Liverpool team was good and as you said lucky lucky Liverpool but we could be facing fabregas and Pedro with more honours between them than probably that entire Liverpool team

Yes the 4 0 beating of Man United babes was before my time but they sadly never got the chance to win trophies.

Could this Chelsea team be the best we have ever faced with multiple European cup winners and Europe championship, World Cup winners in the possible starting line up. Can anyone name a better one.

A player who scored 20+ in Div 2 should surely be able to hack it in Div 1 but until we've seen in him play a few games I can't see anybody can have no doubts he'll do well. . Richard Walker didn't. In fact he looked totally lost and it was Lambert who kicked on. Taylor has far more of an all round game than walker had. Taylor's pace will make him more of a danger than walker for a start.

Didn't we score 75+ goals last season? How many of those goals came from players with recent League Two experience? No idea why people are so scared of League One that we suddenly need superstars. We've are where we are on merit, just relax. Interesting. When does this notion become unacceptable? Would it be ok to start the championship without experience at that level? The prem? How about dropping into the conference without some know how of the way it is down there? Why is LG1 any different? Is it fair to assume that the players will be a bit better than those in LG2? If so, our squad will need to perform better than last year's exploits otherwise it will be a long struggle. Before the predictable polar opposite post comes my way....I'm not suggesting spending willy nilly! However, I think it would be a signal of intent if we saw a signing or 2 that proved that we aren't here to make up the numbers. I don't think that retaining all of the players who helped us to promotion over the last 2 years is wise management of a forward looking club at all. Great for loyalty but it doesn't make any sense if we are trying to climb in standard. We have had players in league 2 with championship experience in the past and look where that got us. Hard work and a bit of talent can take you a long way in football and this team/squad works harder than any rovers team I have watched.

It always helps to know where you have been to truly appreciate where you are going.👍 Well I went to the pub on Wednesday and I'm there again tomorrow. My point exactly. If you did not enjoy the pub you would not go back or go to a different pub. Hard times make the good times even more special.

Good problem to have but 5 strikers plus young Jamie Lucas are going to be hard to keep happy this season. Some of them are going to spend a lot of time on bench or out of the squad.

also, as an add on to the above thoughts, it's time we moved away from talking about the old board now.... this season truly is the fresh beginning of BRFC.... UTG It always helps to know where you have been to truly appreciate where you are going.👍

DC again showed what a great man manager he is again with his treatment of Lines. Very brave of the manager to drop the fans favorite. Lines frustrates me more than any player in the squad because when he drives at teams he can be devastating but does not do it no where near what he should. Run with the Dam ball linesey !!!

And what a day it was ! This team never know when it's beat and never give up, a true reflection of the fans and club that it represents. To often we have seen players in the quarters that have not understood what it means to wear them. I don't doubt in weeks to come we will hear we need this player and that player but let's not forget it's this squad of players that have got us to league one. We will strengthen I have no doubt but the players that are already here deserve a fair crack at proving they can cut it. I have seen some pretty dark days in my 42 years as a gashead but days like yesterday make it all worth while. I watched some young fans on the pitch afterward and I could not help but think they did not understand what a special day it was. To end this I have to give a special mention to Lee Brown. In a team of heros I could not pick a better man to have scored the winning goal. We all know you could have left with your head still held high when we went down but you chose stay and for that you will always be a gas legend.

Lee Brown is the best left back we have had at the gas since Vaughan Jones. Lee Brown is probably the best left back in league 2 and will probably one of the best left backs in league 1. Defends well creates chances for others and chips in with a few goals a season. I know you are entitled to an opinion Kingswood gas but in my opinion if you believe Lee Brown is poor then you know nothing about football. A lot of "probablys" in there? It'll be interesting to see who's the LB in the Div 2 team of the season but until we've played a few Div 1 sides you can't really judge the standard of the LB's. As far as contracts for next season I understood Easter & Gaffney along with Sinclair had already signed contracts? Only two probably,s in there topper !

Roman Glass a classic but I hope it's not a stitched on panel on the front of the shirt like 1990.
