Exactly my thinking, bit of atmosphere might spur the players on a bit. Hopefully it will be pantomime villain type booing and it won’t escalate into anything moreserious. Unfortunately when people drink on an empty head it can sometimes turn ugly. I hate saying this but it could go that way if things go bad. Say paynes scorers tomorrow and we lose. Then Taylor does the same on Sat and we lose then some of meatheads could kick right off as there is always trouble with the fans when we play Oxford. But Taylor is the most hated Shithead ever.I doubt he might even travel for the game. There might be police advice given to Oxford.

And Cog please stop with the same they're an honest bunch crap during each interview. They should be, they are getting paid well to do there dream jobs! Are they doing their dream job? The fans might think it is a dream job, and yes I would loved to have played for the Gas, but many are competent players who are just good at football and that is their day job. They might dream about doing something else. The reason motivation is important in sport is that for many it is just a job. Very few players these days play for their local club and often support other clubs. Playing for Bristol Rovers probably never figured in their dreams as a kid. We need to get away from this idea that they are devoted to the club. It is a job. How many people do you know who work for a company, it's just a job and they need motivating to get the best out of them. Most people I know have become cynical about company loyalty (probably because of age and experience) and job for life. It is the same for many footballers. That's where the like of Stuart Sinclair have a value that goes beyond talent, they love their job and see it as a dream and lift themselves above their talent level. Most football players don't. Im not saying they are playing for there dream club.I doubt even Ollie Clarke or alfie kilgour are playing for there dream club today dispite them both being Gasheads and coming from familys that support us. But Im willing to bet £100 that if there was a poll of some sort that you could do to find this answer out than over 99% of football players dream job as a kid would to have been a football player. Its one of those luxury things kids want to be growing up,in fact most wouldnt even had seen it as a job while growing up.

Does anyone else feel totally disconected with our club and totally let down? Ive never felt this way before even at some of the sh** times we've had in the last 20 years.
After years of shocking Management we fell out of the football league in May 2014.I thought that was rock bottom. But with DC in charge we made history getting back to where we are now.
The new owners came in and gave me hope. Not that we were going to be the next Man City, but that we will be finally run in a way where we could at least reach our potential and get to the championship with the foundations laid in place to maybe push for the premiership one day, abit like City can now.
DC lost the plot,or heart come the end as he was let down and could not see us moving forward. The UWE went tits up,we lost the snake,a butchers truck is now our new stand, half a year to put up a simple big screen.Debts rising...etc.
Signing avg journeyman like Upson,Bennett,Rodman - The continuation of playing our worse ever striker.. (not player) striker given his goal against games ratio.I mean WTF..
Having maybe the best two full back in L1 but both are crocks and injury prone and we will be lucky to get 20 games this season between the two.
Im not calling for Cogs to go as that is insane after 3 games. But just give us a style of play where we attack.Last year was ugly but we stayed up.But this brand of football is going back to the days of Graydon,Atkins,Mcgeeeeee, and snooze feast Ward!!!
And Cog please stop with the same they're an honest bunch crap during each interview. They should be, they are getting paid well to do there dream jobs!

Hardly the best of starts to the season but some of the comments about GC are way over the top This with bells on. There are multiple threads calling Coughlan a liar, wanting him out and being pathetic. He’s lost two away matches, drawn one at home and won a home cup match. The three league teams we’ve played lie in 2nd, 3rd and 4th position at the moment. We have two home matches coming up. Try supporting the team. So called supporters seem hung up on past glories which in itself is a joke. Historically we drift between the bottom two divisions. Why do we think we should be in the championship? No we dont.We are a 3rd tier side that has had the odd time in the 2nd/championship level. We only dropped into the bottom level for the first time in 2001/02.

It's well known Lines had personal issues last season, then got injured, so not all down to the manager but given he's already been dropped by his new club perhaps he's simply lost his way. Assuming GC's spent all his budget it's not easy to see where the money would come from for a replacement. We're really now paying the penalty for DC signing the likes of Craig, Upson, Nichols & Bennett who between them are probably taking a massive slice of the wage bill. I'd add Rodman, Reilly, Matthews, Payne and THD to that list. We probably have the worse group of players I can ever remember and the most negative manager since Graydon. Dont know about that. These players are not good enough. But worse than that May 2014 squad? I doubt it. Could be right with the manager tho.

In summary, we would be a good League 2 club. This should be obvious to everyone! We cannot compete in the top ten of L1 and the Championship is a million miles away. But it shoundn't be if we were run correctly as a club, even in the Mem. We are losing 3k- 5k off our home gates given our form and the currect style of play...So ...Please just attack and try to win! Maybe we will wake up again for 3 seasons once we have dropped back into Non league.

This report will be short because that was the amount of entertainment I took from this game. I can't think of much positive to write about the Manager, the majority of the players or the tactics (or lack of them) used in this game. Though the team was the same that beat Cheltenham so easily last Tuesday I was not one of those taken in by the ideal that this eleven would be good enough to get a result from todays game. There is little doubt that the gap between most of League 2 and this division is almost as huge as the gap between League 1 and the Championship. On the evidence of todays game it is going to be a long hard season where under GC we will be lucky to saty up even with 2 spaces pretty well taken! It was clear from the first 15 minutes that we would be constantly torn apart down both sides as Coventry were given the freedom of the park down the sides by Sercombe , Ollie Clarke, Leahy and Hare.None of those seemed to have a clue what they were supposed to be doing and both Ogogo and Bennett did little to help them out by holding onto the ball. Put it this way if all players contracts were up I would get rid of both full backs, the entire midfield and back ups Upson and Nichols. None of them are good enough to have my club anything but a relegation contender. On to individuals Gosh people have been very generous on a performance that just wasn't good enough- in truth pathetic. Jaakkola 7 Apart from one moment of madness I thought he did pretty well. Hare 3 Nightmare both defensively and offensively. A couple of reasonable crosses prevented a two as was taken to the cleaners all game. Davies 7 Solid but it is very difficult when Coventry are getting past your full backs so often Kilgour7.5 MOM A old head on young shoulders but Tony Craig did not deserve to be left out based on the Wycombe game. Leahy 3 Nightmare both defensively and offensively and directly involved in both goals conceded. One great block prevented a two as he too was taken to the cleaners constantly. Ogogo 4 Fought hard and battled but that's it. Lacks any real creativity and today a part of the worse midfield unit performance I have seen in many a year. Clarke 3.5 Apart from one brilliant run ending in a shot high over the bar he showed little in the way of awareness of what was happening all game and allowed the left side of Coventrys midfield to totally over run the team. Captain of our team -a disgraceful decision by the Manager as he cant even produce a decent performance himself. Sercombe 4 A mixed game in that at times he looked as if he was starting to get back some form but then for long periods drifting out of the game and not really knowing what he was supposed to be doing. Bennett 4 Too easily knocked off the ball and just not imposing .Was lucky not to be sent off and although his workrate has improved he did little to actually create any positive attacks. Smith 4 Terrible service to him but lacks the physicality to do the sort of holding up game he need to do for the way we play. Clarke-Harris 4 Way off last seasons form which is not surprising but not helped by so many lack lustre team mates. Subs: Upson 3.5 Much of a muchness. Was never going to give the team what it needed- a bit of pace ,power and conviction. Nichols 3 Why do we waste a substitutes place. Either play him on the wing or midfield or don't play him at all because a striker he is not. Adeboyejo 4 Tried hard but with such poor service was never going to be able to change the pattern of play. Crowd 9 An excellent following that just don't deserve to endure 90 minutes of rubbish like that. Ref 5 Well didn't really affect the result but so inconsistent with decisions. Coventry 6 I firmly believe that they aren't that good but were made to look so much better by the way we allowed them the freedom of both sides of the park. If they had been any good they would have given us a tanking. Gc- Speechless- we have three members of Management on the bench and none of them seem capable of sorting out the mess on the pitch. Was obvious after the first ten minutes that the formation and set up wasn't working and even when the substutions were made far too late they were all like for like. Three blind mice comes to mind! So we move on to two home games and though it is only early doors the Tranmere game could be one of our most important games .If it is one point out of 12 after Tuesday then we are in great danger!! UTG Lets cut to the f**king chase and not beat around the bush and do these f**king long reviews, No disrespect Stevio.👌 We are sh**e. We were last season after DC left, yet stayed up with luck. But we have not improved during the off season..In fact have got worse. Our attack is shameless, and embarrassing and will be the reason we go down if we do. Now to our Owners, the Manager - sort it, or the sh** will come your way and we will be f**ked.

Dont think any formation will work, its the personnel that is the problem. Too many players not good enough....again. The players are good enough IMO. We have the personnel to play with width and to be able to adapt as a situation fits. Unfortunately, the manager is one dimensional in his approach. Can you explain how you think these players are good enough to play with width? We have no width in our squad!!!! Bennett is an over paid, over rated journeyman.Rodman, injury prone. Our two main full backs are along with JCH our two best players but will never be fit enough to play for more than a game or two before being on the sick bed again! Again we have no width!! And this is Cogs fault during the summer for not fixing. I agree with our managers mindset tho. This is what will cost him his job if he continutes this way of playing. But we dont have any players good going forward, simple.

We were f**ked and down until JHC came in Jan when we struck lighting a bottle with him. We have not addressed our attacking play,or mainly the midfield. We are awlful. Its a disgrace that we did not make changes in this area,no excuse. Our scouting is bollocks, let’s be honest. Okay JCH was a find, fair play, but the rest are not good value for money. If we get rid of GC the problem still remains that we can’t seem to get XI decent players together, they are mostly crap. I think we may need to go backwards to go forwards to establish a long term identity to the club. But fat chance of that when you are run by people who don’t want to be here. I agree. I thought this was all being sorted when DC was in charge and Weal and co signed all these people to different roles at the club. Why else is our wage bill so high? Its going to be a long bumpy ride back to shore when the captain of our ship (the owners) does really want to go to the same coastline that our club and fans need.

In all fairness the momentum we had under DC from our 2nd promotion and then our new ownership hopes has well and truely gone! and the gates are, and will start to show that. Just over 7k home fans last week in the home opener, now this avg folllowing for a local game. Hard to get excited hearing we maybe signing a Bristol City 3rd string player on loan..Better hope this fruit market deal is the real deal!
Its funny, only bristol city fans don't count away fans in our attendance's. Oh and you.
That makes no sense at all.😄 I meant there were only just over 7k of our fans in an 7600 odd crowd.

I know nothing about the kid.But if your correct about the wage thing then as a Football club we better get our sh** together ASAP (ground/new owners) as if they are that far ahead of us in terms of wage paying ability, that they can pay three times as much for there 3rd string players - against our best and highest earners, then we have bigger problems then I first thought. You need to research the championship and the player frankly. Why? My point still stands.

I very much doubt we can afford to loan the lad, after all he has played more league one games than most of our squad and will be on 3 times the wage of our highest earners. Wouldn’t want him if he was free. Signing loan players from them is an absolute disgrace , hope it doesn’t happen. 100% agree! I dont hate City like some on here do,my best mates a shithead. But us loaning players from them is a disgrace to our club as you said, and I refuse to say anything otherwise. This weak ass and water poor mentality is the reason our club is the way it is today. Does anyone think that City fans wouldnt kick off if roles were reversed? Would they not like f**k!! - In fact thats something I respect about there fanbase, they dont take sh**. But us, we bend over and take all 12 inchs dry. No reason we should ever loan a player from Bristol City FC. Buy, or sign on a free after being let go from them maybe. But a loan... Nah!
