Whatever became of that Jamie White guy ? I think that is his name. The small so labelled super striker that played under "dazza" at Salisbury That was feckin odd that. I saw the one interview where he called DC Dazza then never saw him get a game. Did he play or was that when I was going to watch Liverpool instead ? Doubled

He played but didn't look after himself well enough. Thanks muck. He just seemed to disappear and tbh I wasn't in the right place to watch the gas. Personal crap and all that plus a couple of our own that I was angry with. Thought white was supposed to be the next big thing. He certainly talked the talk

Do you really think we lost out ? From the very small amount of gossip it seems DC wasn't interested as is what Steve Hamer basically said after snake went slithering to his new piece of tin to hide under. I have a feeling DC already has his top targets and is ready to go as soon as the club have the meeting in mid May. Is it me or has anyone else felt that DC has been pushing and even tetchy is a couple of club interviews ? I'm really glad he can habe a break. He's newly married and needs some time at home then get back properly refreshed. I was always a fan and wanted him to take over a good while before it was forced on him. I have full confidence in him and don't think he will be leaving us this season but I guess it's now time for the owners and Mr Hamer to give him the backing. I don't expect any big names but I do expect younger players. Ricky who ? Maybe smudge will want back here now that he seems lutmof favour at posh. WYHHB ? Smudge wanted back in January - but remember - he left us when we were relegated - others were more loyal Totally get it and agree but not sure if he left as in deserted. I think probably more a work decision. None of us really know, do we ?

Four pages of thread and I don't think anyone has identified realistic targets to fill the striker role...just shows getting a brace of strikers this summer who can score goals will not be easy. Who can we realistically afford who is likely to knock say 15 goals a season? There used to be a guy who was on the old official forum who had reams of Intel on non league players. I think he got so much stick that he jailed on and had enough. I was always a reader rather than a poster but that guy had phenomenal knowledge or it certainly seemed that way

I don't think the Miller to Peterborough rumours are 100% legit and therefore we should be fighting to get him. Ridiculous scoring record, far outscored a lot of players that have stepped out of the conference to be championship standard. Whatever became of that Jamie White guy ? I think that is his name. afternoon people. I don't know if you are aware but KP is my uncle and he is the guy who has the sh** disease that is slowly and persistently knocking the crap out of him. He has asked me ( my name is Rob Jordan) if I could post to say a big thank you to all of you and that he would like his self imposed ban to be lifted so that he can thank people himself ? Hugo he mentioned you and that he would be in touch. He is genuinely touched but I've to,d him that years ago lol by the donations and comments of his justgiving page. I've been keeping an eye on him as has my sister Shelley but he is a stubborn bugger and still tries to push himself too much. His has only recently come out of hospital and signed himself out so he could be at the last game and that didn't end well with us taking him back to A&E next day. Anyway, I have done as he asked. He has had Wael be in touch and say he would help him. His twitter message said that he was the first gashead he followed and you should have seen him when he read that, talk about over stimulated. Maybe too many of his special smarties. He has had many of you donate and leave messages of support and I can tell you it's made a massive difference to his mood. I will share this though he won't like,it but if he hadn't have forgotten he lended his rope to a mate to,tow a car then I'm pretty sure he would not be with us to see this. It has lifted him over that hump and a donation by DC has also had him really excited and shocked. In his words you guys rock. Me & our Shelley are doing our best to help him, get shopping and other small but important stuff. I stayed with him for 5 months while I was working out my own sh**. Thank you all for lifting his spirits and for being so generous. I don't think most will ever know what he is going through but I see the letters and look,on his face when he gets them. It can't be easy. Thanks again and look out for him as I am hopeful he will come out of his exile to thank you himself

All this City hatred is a little bit alien to me in some respects. I am not from Bristol so I have never felt the need to hate 'them down the road'. Don't get me wrong. I want them to fail more than ever now. When I was a kid, growing up in the heart of Somerset, your local team was chosen on a whim. You either liked the colour red or the colour Blue. On those grounds could you decide which team to support. I never really got into the Gas until I was 16. Bristol was too far to go by bus so I never went to any games. My decision to choose Rovers was probably my brothers. I came home on leave from the navy and asked him what we were doing at the weekend and he said we were going to Eastville. Fair enough. His reason for choosing Rovers was probably that a mutual friend was the son of a Gas Legend (George Petherbridge's son, Terry). I sat next to Terry when he first joined our primary school and remember laughing at his strange sport shirt - blue and white quarters. It was his Dad's old one. Anyway, Rovers was chosen and I never really worried about City. I've even been to watch them at Wembley. My ex brother-in-law was a ted and I went along for the booze up. It was so memorable that I couldn't even tell you who won! The only thing I remember is two girls, fans of the other team, joined in a group photo and suddenly bared their breasts!! (much better than the 11 tits that were playing in red that day!!). Right, now to my point. Snakegate has changed my opinion about City. Not so much about the team but about their owner and manager. I am now convinced that Snakey's move to them had nothing to do with football. It was like being a kid again. We had something better than they had and although they didn't want him, they just didn't want us to have him. All that 'Welcome to Bristol' ,' Playing football at a higher standard' (yeah right, sat on the bench all the game yesterday), Pantsdown's statement that he wanted to name Bristol Rovers to disappear all point to a man with more money than sense. I don't blame Taylor totally for what he did. He is 27, probably Div 1 was his real level, and if some mug offers you a huge amount of money (knowing your career could end tomorrow) then you'd be a fool not to go. It was the way he went, at the very last moment, not really giving us a chance to find a replacement. It was a vindictive, childish, nasty way to do business and for that I hate the City setup. I wish them nothing but failure. Revenge is a dish best served cold and I am prepared to wait. All of this has made me even more appreciative of DC and Wael and Hamer. UTG Feck me, a member of the Senior Service who can post in a lucid manner ( ), seriously a good post my matelot buddy. What is a matelot ?

So how can you say he has no idea when in fact you yourself don't have a clue what you are talking about For all WE know he is right and you are wrong and there no way you can prove it Clearly not the point I was making. Naming rights and owning the freehold of the land are two distinct matters. To say we might as well not negotiate owning the freehold if we're going to call it the UWE stadium anyway is quite obviously a confusion of the issues. Like I said no one on here knows what anyone else on here knows but if he does know anything it's obvious he doesn't understand what he knows, in which case what's the difference? I don't need any insider knowledge to know how commercial property deals are negotiated. So my question again: so what? This reminds me of the takeover thread where you made up a story.

Well, I just broke a promise never to go on their site but the venom towards not only squeaky but also SL is incredible. I do understand the anger at managers as they are the sharp end of the stick but to be so vile to a bloke that has bankrolled ( autocorrect wanted bankrupt lol) them and got them a new stadium is out of order as I see it but this is the 82. I was genuinely shocked at the rage at the owner. Wehad stuff with Higgs but we had many back him still whereas they don't. They want him gone too ffs. Just when you think you have seen them at their worst

I was in my local pub in shirehampton a bit drunk with a terrible band playing,i was with some friends a rovers season ticket holder and a city season ticket holder. At the end of the night i loudly requested "irene goodnight" to the band. im 58 but my job is physical and im 6ft but when i made my fun request a city fan who i have never met threatened me and stalked me back to my friends verbally abusing me,i wasnt intimidated but i despaired at the hate coming out of this guy, which got worse when i suggested it was possible we could be playing them next season! I turned the other cheek and my city friend explained it was just fun banter and he left. Point is why has it come to this vile situation where in many cases banter has become hatred? i know there have been hardcore hooligans for years but lately ive noticed ordinary people sucked into the hate and happy to be aggressive to opposing fans just for being opposing fans! Are they worse than us? we were always the good guys i thought but im not so sure now to be honest. If a grand child of mine wanted to wear a rovers or city fan to say the zoo i would be worried, how cra* is that? We have chatted about this and you only have to look at the threats, abuse etc at the snakey one and you have your answer. We used to be different but it's a fag paper between now. All this "banter" stuff? Well I reckon it is just a way to be vile but rationalise it. A bit like calling you a lady garden but adding a kiss and it's ok. God I feel old but in my forties, I remember times when we did have the moral high ground. Sadly not now

I disagree re Wigan and Blackburn, bigger clubs than city, and Burton are a well run club. If city go down not only will it be hilarious but they will be in a right mess. Bring it on, although I'd love it even more if we leap frogged them. Come on Wigan. All about opinions my friend. Good debate. Blackburn - last 25 years, yes bigger than City. Similar for Wigan last decade, so 'bigger' maybe. However we are in the present not the past and both are in my opinion in decline with Rotherham/Burton punching above their weight. Looking at attendances this season though and interestingly Burton 4900, Rotherham 9,800. Wigan 11,600, Blackburn 11,900 would suggest in todays money City are in fact the biggest with an average of 19,200. They also have access to the largest fund pot. Of course on a personal level seeing City fail is always a good sight, but unbiased i see them as the club out of the four of them that will improve next season. (sadly) Decent & balanced post m8

Assorted points: - Mem only gets loud when more than the blackthorn sing. I sing, I'm on the dribuild terrace for the view but my heart is in there with the fans. Young ens and old uns also mean dribuild better for me. - I feel standing encourages singing. You can all pack in together. I will miss that. - Swansea is a good example BUT I have been to Cardiff new ground many times hospitality. It's good on a big game but very quiet on a normal Saturday. Ninian, as I remember it in the 90s, was always an intimidating and dangerous cauldron. Totally different now. - my heart says Mem, old school but I have been won over by other arguments on here for a new stadium, if seats, so be it. The way I see it we have a choice. Either continue with the current level being the highest possible, with 82 stealing our best players, or compete. Competing means a new ground. Private time warp, however comforting, or beating City in the same league. No contest. - all I hope is the board give us one thing, a say in how seating etc is organised. Priority to helping real fans group together, under the radar allowing standing in the "melee" behind goal. Safe standing, even if just a "plan for SS at some point". Let us fans have some say in the one thing we really are affected by. Allow us to maintain the vibe and sing, and we will help you create a fortres to spur the club on. "Ninian, as I remember it in the 90s, was always an intimidating and dangerous cauldron." The only ground that I've ever been to, and sh!t myself was Ninian Park. In the "nearly season" we only had to draw and we'd be in the play-offs, yet we still lost to an already relegated Cardiff... After the game we were getting into the coach when Cardiff broke through the police cordon and started beating anything in sight! I honestly sh!t myself. I hope I never experience anything like it again. Intimidating..... and some... Most frightening game I have been to. Never before or since have I seen such outright venom.

Take a trip to trashton if you really want to see what happens when everyone is sat down. I was there V Blackburn and it was dire. They have tried very hard to get a section of the ground where they lead the singing etc in an attempt to try and do it like the Poles and others who have ppl who do nothing but have their backs to the game and lead the chants but it's awful. If you think that any UWE type ground can ever recreate the atmosphere of terraced grounds then I think you haven't really had the experience. When a goal comes then there is a brief rising from chairs and some clapping. Then, I'm not one who actually likes the idea of the UWE and loss of the pubs and pre match preamble. I'd be happy to see the mem redeveloped. Did you go to Fulham in the FA cup a few yrs ago ? We were all sat down there and the atmosphere (we) created was amazing. There's plenty of examples of good atmospheres at seated ground. Your counter argument of the teds is redundant....... They're the teds and it's always been a library Having been there a fair few times, as my dad was a ref at a low level and got free tickets I can't let any hate cloud the reality that they can be loud and have always had bigger crowds since I was born and my grandad said it was always like that even in his day. Not denying they are vile but they can create noise ready for incoming lol
