www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/17578965.swindon-town-manager-richie-wellens-will-decide-whether-or-not-to-try-and-sign-kyle-bennett-on-a-permanent-deal-in-the-summer/SWINDON Town manager Richie Wellens will wait until the summer before deciding whether or not to pursue a permanent deal for on-loan midfielder Kyle Bennett. Bristol Rovers player Bennett was one of three additions made by Wellens on the final day of the January transfer window – the other two being Cameron McGilp and striker Theo Robinson. The 28-year-old joined on loan from Rovers until the end of the season, but Wellens hinted he may be keen to extend his stay at SN1 further after being impressed by his performance levels in his 11 appearances for Town to date. Robinson’s County Ground future appears a little vaguer, though, with the Town boss simply stating the 30-year-old is not his player. Wellens said: “I’ve known Kyle for a long time, I know what a good footballer he is. “He wanted to get that spark going, because sometimes players don’t quite fit into a certain team system. “Kyle wants to get on the ball and make things happen. I wanted to get his love of football back, and I think I’ve done that. “We’ll revisit him in the summer and see if we can keep him because I think everyone will agree that he has been a great addition to the squad.” With Town’s play-off hopes looking increasingly unlikely to turn into reality – and with only four League Two fixtures remaining – Wellens is starting to turn one eye onto his recruitment over the summer months. He plans to recruit players that will complement his current squad, and said replicating the club’s hefty turnover from last summer – which saw former boss Phil Brown add 10 players to the club – is not something he plans on doing. He added: “Recruitment is going to be the most important thing over the summer. “We have got the basis of a really good team so now can we recruit the right characters and the right players to come in and complement the players we have got and have a real good go next season. “In parts, both home and away, we have shown we are a really strong team and I believe we can be even better next season. “Can we get the right players in, people that fit into our system and also be good in the dressing room. “Over the last couple of years, I don’t think the club has had that and if you haven’t got good characters in the dressing room, you aren’t going to breed success. “Good players get you promotion and success but good characters keep you there.” Great news, we want him gone, he wants to go, and the club he's now at want him. Everyone wins. Just need a similar announcement from Shrewsbury Town now!

Bonham 7
J. Clarke 6 despite his mess up for the first goal, overall good game. Lockyer 6 needs to hold the line further away from our box when defending, just asking for trouble. Craig 6 Holmes-Dennis 6
Upson 4 Slow and wasteful, first thoughts appear to be get rid of the ball either in the air or backwards. O. Clarke 5.5 being brought down to the same level as the rest of our midfield Ogogo 4.5 slow, caught out, occasional good tackle, no drive to go forward. Sercombe 2 was not happy with what I saw from him, looked disinterested, when he lost the ball (which he did a lot) there was no desire to get it back, did play better once he switched sides, but too late to change my mind about his performance by then.
Nichols 6 not bad performance, should of had a shot or two, but trying to pass on the responsibility, was at least putting on pressure and tracking back. Clarke-Harris 9 Our best player by far, angry when he or any other team mates loses the ball and never gives up. The exact attitude I want to see from everyone else.
Subs: Sinclair 6 Rodman 6 Jakubiak NOLE
Crowd 8 far more cheery than I was, got me singing even though I was appalled with our performance. Ref 6 Bradford 6 Showed them far too much respect, where shakey on the few occasions we stopped.

Keep - GK - Bonham & Andre Defence - Lockyer, Craig, J Clarke, Kelly, Kilgour, Menayaise & Holmes-Dennis Midfield - O Clarke, Sercombe, ogogo Attack - Jonson Clarke Harris Get rid of - GK - Solcombe & Smith Defence - Partington & Leadbitter Midfield - Sinclair, Lines, Upson, Bennett, Mensah Attack - Payne Not sure - Midfield - Russe, Matthews & Rodman Attack - Nichols & Reilly Recruit COMPETENT - Right back, Left wing, 2 x right Wing, defensive midfielder & attacking midfielder, 15 goal + a season Attacker Play confidently at home, don't invite pressure/take ages on the ball, don't be afraid to drive the ball forward when there is some space. Personally agree with most of that I'd keep Upson, Rodman and Nichols (as a back up). He has his moments I agree, but it's just not often enough and he loses the ball and doesn't help out on the defence enough for me to keep him. I'd sooner have Lines back, but 5 years younger

Bonham 6 J. Clarke 6 needs a winger/anyone to pass the ball too on the right hand side. Lockyer 5 slow decision making/invites pressure Craig 5 slow decision making/invites pressure Kelly 5 Upson 4 slow decision making/ slow in general O. Clarke 5 slow in general Ogogo 5 slow in general, but good tackles Sercombe 3 Slow all round and poor distribution. Nichols 4 no strength Clarke-Harris 8 passionate, strong and willing, 10 more of him on the pitch and we could compete in the champions league Subs: Jakubiak 5 no impact Reilly 5 no impact Crowd 6 Ref 3 Luton 5 didn't look that impressive for a top of table team, could of beat them if our players didn't show them respect.

Think you'll struggle to find anything other than Ifollow for teams in league one.
You may be able to use Ifollow for Saturday matches if you use a VPN to redirect outside the UK, but not sure on the success of this. Whilst the VPN might work you may get caught out on the payment which will link to your UK address.

Be nice to have even just a half decent clock, view-able from the west terrace, I've just got to make a guess on how long's left from the thatchers regular clock.

Good listen, thanks for taking the time to organise and ask the questions Tommy,
not necessarily the answers we wanted to hear in places, but it's good to fully understand the positions, club and owners.

Instant (assuming whole of Jan window) - Youngsters out on loan (check) - without naming names to upset some people and in an ideal world i'd sell two of our strikers, one of our CMs, one of our LMs, one of our RBs and one of our goalies. - Recruit two new strikers, a RM, a Rb & a LM - Football on the floor to feet to try and resolve the height disadvantage - Stay in league one Long term
- Understand the plans from the owner, if its not going anywhere get out before I'm dragged down with them!

Jakubiak 5 Payne 4
Subs: Lines 4 Reilly 4 Matthews 3
Crowd 4 Ref 2 Wycombe 2 Same old Wycombe, always cheating.
Lumping the ball forward from the back will achieve nothing, we need to start playing the ball on the floor, to feet, players need to be making runs forward when their is space and when some momentum has been built up keep it going instead of turning and passing it backwards!!!

Rumors of Smith being transferred in January window (Bristol Post), if Bonham goes too we're left with only our youth keeper! Don't really want to be throwing money at signing keepers when we need some goal scorers. Wonder if Slocombe's move to Lincoln will be made official too.
