yes - it's not yours Its not "for sure" then, just your opinion. Glad we cleared that up. Well I'm a season ticket holder and so have a better idea of what we need and what we already have

We struggled last season and I've said it before - we have only as it stands strengthened IMO one position, RB. There is nothing at the moment to suggest we will do anything other than that again this season. Can't say that I'm over impressed with the signings so far - and there are still rumours of signing another CB - bizarre. I'm not kidding myself, because we have made half a dozen signing we are any better than we were last season. The one real positive is getting shot of Payne. After GC came in our record from those 25 games was 37 pts - mid table or higher form rather than struggling. W 9 D 10 L 6. Good players already in - Little, Jaakkola from the championship with good reports, Smith a young striker from The Prem - with a good scoring record; and good experience at L1 level with Davies and Leahy. Massive clubs like Sunderland and Ipswich have signed only 1 or 2 in comparison - check if you don't believe. GC will get a couple more attacking players in but has to bide his time like those clubs mentioned above and is probably keen to offload a few ( Bennett, Mensah) to also help make those signings happen. If you compare it to beginning of last season - we'd already lost Ellis and Gaffney and only replaced them with - the one and only Stefan Payne on the last day of the window !! A PANIC BUY if we ever saw one.

great - can't wait. Although GC must be worried about JCH and THD's injuries - 2 of our best players. But squad looking stronger than last season for sure. Squad looking stronger in your opinion. yes - it's not yours

You seem to have a shortlist of players you want for Rovers. Do you have shortlists for each of those key positions? So say a shortlist of players you deem would be quality strikers and would be realistic? Folarin Balogun (Arsenal, loan), Tyreece John-Jules (Arsenal, loan), Marcus Forss (Brentford, loan), Ryan Cassidy (Watford, loan), Sam Winnall (Sheffield Wednesday, loan), David Nugent (Derby, released), Gary Hooper (Sheffield Wednesday, released), Will Keane (Hull, released), Jonathan Afolabi (Southampton, released), Martell Taylor-Crossdale (Chelsea, released), Josh Bohui (Man Utd, released), Niall Ennis (Wolves, loan), Adam Idah (Norwich, loan), Aaron Connolly (Brighton, loan), Elias Sorensen (Newcastle, loan), Bobby Duncan (Liverpool, loan), Troy Parrott (Tottenham, loan), Kieran Phillips (Everton, loan), George Hirst (Leicester, loan), Joe Gelhardt (Wigan, loan), Morgan Whittaker (Derby, loan), Ched Evans (Sheffield United, transfer listed), Valmir Suljemani (Waldorf Mannheim), Manuel Fischnaller (Catanzaro). you missed out the Villa forward Database must have gone haywire !!

Pleased with this one, young hungry player looking to prove something is exactly what we need. Managed double figures at only 19 years old in the Vanarama National already so plenty of ability if we can just get that out of him. Welcome Tyler. yep. He's already had a taste of L1 with top 6 Donnie last year. Quality Loan signings can make the difference. Last season Charlton loaned Bielik from Arsenal and Cullen from west Ham for the whole season and that quality helped get them promoted. I wouldn't be adverse to another Prem loan coming in for the season either at Left midfield or up front.

The last thing I want to do is write any of our signings off because they all look decent on paper but I can’t help but feel underwhelmed by our transfer business so far. All bar one of our signings have been in defence and while we may have a couple of decent right backs now, is anyone expecting Jaakkola and Davies to be an upgrade on Lockyer and Bonham? Tyler Smith looks like a promising youngster and I think he’ll be decent for us but it’s still only a loan, if he does well for us, he’s not ours and if he doesn’t get played often like Telford and Jakubiak it’s been a bit of a waste of time. From Coughlan’s comments about Marquee signings and getting rid of Payne in the manner that we did, I must admit I was expecting us to get someone a little bit more tried and tested and on a permanent basis to partner JCH. Still a while yet to go in the transfer window though and I do feel like we are steadily building a basis of a good team but I wont be feeling confident going into the new season until another Winger and ideally an attacking midfielder is added as it is obvious the goal scoring burden needs to be removed from solely JCH and distributed elsewhere in the team, if we are to even contemplate having a successful season. How about we see them play in the quarters for 10/11 games ? On paper I'd saying getting Champ experienced players like Jaakkola and Little, sounds promising, what do you say ?

Lucas Tomlinson is the one !very ,very skillful and can leave defenders dizzy, but he is still a lad physically and may get pushed around to easily at the mo,certainly worth a sub place though ,to bring on and create chances, once he beefs up reckon he will be some player!hope he gets chance as dont think we have shown enough faith in young players recently, dont want Russe to go on loan ,he is good enough for squad now,IMO! Tomlinson The boy's got some oomph in him shots !

Let’s just enjoy the current goal fest. See you all at Kiddie Kiddie beat an Aston Villa XI tonight with Ed Williams scoring a nice goal. One I hope we are keeping an eye on. Yeah, I've heard we're keeping a quarter of an eye on him. UTG !

Hoping for one more on the left of midfield - a left footer with experience ideally. Mensah was told he can go, hopefully Bennett going to. Matthews now injured (but just didn't look L1 level for all his nice dribbles etc).

Well I have moved my ST from the Thatchers to the West Terrace. The over 65 price was £170. Paying on the gate would cost me £409 now. Massive savings!! wow - big difference.

Pirate, what do you think of other business in our league? Think Fleetwood have made some good signings but thought that last year. Not sure Barton is the right man to get the best out of them! Fleetwood's business looks very impressive. Shrewsbury, Lincoln, Gillingham, Blackpool, Coventry, Peterborough and Portsmouth have made some good signings. so basically all the teams who've made loads of signings Rovers destined for mid table with 5 signings and Sunderland for relegation cos they haven't bothered to

There has been. GC, wants more pace and height in the squad, especially the starting 11. I think if you ask any regular-attending Gashead what problems we've faced in the last couple of seasons it's exactly those - not being able to cope with stronger/taller teams and not having the pace to out-smart defences on the counter. GC is spot on. When are these quicker, bigger and stronger players arriving? some have, or can defenders not be quick ?

I would have taken scales and kitching over little and davies any day. I just think thats the way rovers should be going, pushing hard to get young players into the club and playing them. Little is on his way down and davies is 27 years old but hasnt achieved very much in truth. You can keep ched evans or leon clarke as well imo. We already have experienced useful and useless players at the club we should be trying to bring in good young players from anywhere we can find them. I wouldnt be surprised if forest green's offer of a 3 year deal at an ambitious club is what clinched the deal for them. We need a radical rethink at the club but there is nobody around to bring that about. All were doing is competing with wycombe and wimbledon by signing mediocre trundlers who happen to have been around for a while. Ps im glad we signed hare at least. There has been. GC, wants more pace and height in the squad, especially the starting 11. I think if you ask any regular-attending Gashead what problems we've faced in the last couple of seasons it's exactly those - not being able to cope with stronger/taller teams and not having the pace to out-smart defences on the counter.
