Will Martin be back next week though? Lines was out for 3 games when he got his red card.
Agree that Kelly did well today, better in defence than offence but that's the main thing. Would be happy for him to get the nod over Martin anyway.
So pleased to have a decent goalie once again. Made some decent saves and had command of his area knowing when to come out. Saw him barking orders at his defence at time too which was good to see.

I like it! Good to see Lines back and Matthews & Bennett on each wing cutting in.
Glad Rodman & Upson have been dropped from the starting line up, they have not shown enough to date.

What kit do you think they will wear?
Proper quarters!!! They're not proper quarters unless they are blue & white!

After what happened at their gaff last season I hope we absolutely batter them.
Probably be a very tight game though as both teams will be desperate not to lose, but I do back us to win. 1-0 gas. Payne to score.
Let's just hope we get a fair ref or preferably one that is biased toward us lol.

I used to argue with city fans about which team was better. Now I just avoid the banter because there's genuinely nothing I can say back to them. Our average away support is about as good as yours? Rickie lambert played for us? We could potentially be as good as you? There is no argument we can make. The club is a complete embarrassment, and if Darrel left I can't think of a single nice thing to say about the club. The fact we haven't broken are transfer record since 1996 is completely insane in these modern times. We have tents instead of stands. We invite back club legends but no one can hear what they say because the speakers don't work. We have terrible run out music. We haven't got a training ground. That scoreboard is embarrassing and pointless and looks like it's broken already. The club is in like a conference club I think out of all the grounds I've visited Alsershot is the most similar. Genuine question guys, who else in the football league has a ground as bad as ours? Well I'm certainly not embarrassed of Bristol Rovers, I'm proud to call myself a gashead even if we are a bit rag bag, although personally I believe we are shaking that image off albeit very slowly. This thread is embarrassing, not because of the OP because I liked what was written and fully agree with the sentiment of it, but most of the replies come across as "woe is me" and have a sense of hyperbolic despair, despondency and self pity. We really need to try and keep a sense of perspective. Are things all rosy in the garden, well no of course not but it's hardly the worst position rovers have been in is it. For me the only area I can try and make a positive impact is by lending my support to DC and the lads on Saturday to help them get a win on the board. If we do that and start climbing the table then everything will feel much better. UTG!

It's almost as if they say dates that they reckon are far enough in the future people will just forget about it. When we're the 9 weeks up on the training ground application again? Assuming we sold any then what's happened to the season ticket holders who bought tickets in new Family Stand, have they been re-seated in the South/South West stands? Me, my lad and dad are ST holders for the new family stand. I can confirm that for the previous home games this season we have been given tickets in the South Stand (along with complimentary pasty & drink vouchers as compensation - which i think is a nice touch btw) for each game. So far this week I have not received any communication from the club to say we won't be sat in the new stand on Saturday. That's not to say we won't as the week goes on but at this point we haven't. The club said the stand would take 3 days to put up so I assume it's still possible as long as it's starts tomorrow. But if there's a delay tbh I'm not that bothered as I know they will find us seats together somewhere for the match as they have not let us down so far. I really don't understand why some people are getting so worked up about this. It will be sorted soon I am sure, let's cut the club some slack shall we? I listened to the Gorringe on Gascast last night taking about all the projects they committed to this summer and I think they've actually done really well to get as much done as they have in the timeframe. UTG!

Seems to me we've been inconsistent with it performances so far, sounds a familiar doesn't it? But I'm certainly not hitting the panic button yet.
I think we've actually got a decent squad when everyone's fit or not serving suspensions.
It seems a number of players are also currently out of form or low on confidence, that's something that can and will change imo.
I look at it like this:
We take last season's squad that achieved a mid table finish. We sell Ellis but bring in Payne, seems a decent replacement. We sell Bodin and bring in Matthews, not a direct replacement by any means but the lad has shown that he has talent and he may be able to fill Billy's boots in time. We sell Gaffers and bring in Reilly / Jakub. We sell Browner and bring in THD, as yet unproven for us but everyone believes he could be one of the best LB's in L1 so who am I to argue. The rest of the squad have more or less remained insitu and certainly been added to in midfield areas.
Based on that logic I think we should be fine for at least another mid table finish if not better.

We archived consecutive promotions with him missing the majority of the 2nd half of each season, you have to sense it's more hope than fact that he'll ignite our season. I'm not sure that's any real proof results are any better with him in the team than not. I still don't get why DC doesn't give Russe a game given that he seems a younger version of Sincs and was MotM in his only 1st team league start. It's because he hasn't got a beard yet, he's still got bumfluff lol.

Really looking forward to having our very own terrier back on the pitch, I think we have missed his energy as well as the ability to annoy the f**k out of the opposition for 90+ mins.
Hopefully he'll be back real soon and can set a good example to some of our more lack lustre midfield players.

He's got my backing for sure.
I still believe he'll pull this squad into shape before too long.

Have to say that based on the performances so far, I'm disappointed in our new signings Rodman and Upson neither of them seem to have improved the team.
I'm really looking forward to some of our injured / missing players being available:
Parts in for Leads Lines in for Upson Sercs in for Rodman THD in for Martin
Not forgetting that Sincs is also coming back soon, I think we have been missing his bite in midfield.
It would be good to see Reilly given an opportunity to show us what he can do.

Lockyer, Sercs and Martin all out for the Plymouth game then. Also James Clarke,The Beard,New full back from Huddersfield and Partington.Squad which genuinely lacks quality on to-day's performance is painfully thin and Locks is on International duty so that's at least seven not available. For once we might be able to predict the team next Saturday as it will more or less pick itself lol

Only listened on the radio today but...
Positives:
- We've stopped the rot with a draw.
- A point away from home and I would take that for any away game tbh.
- Keeper sounds like he made a number of decent saves, if Smith had been in goal I've no doubt we would have lost.
- Defence did much better, especially in the last 30 mins given the circumstances.
- Ollie Clarke seems to have regained some form.
- Lines is back next week.
Negatives:
- We don't seem to be able to pass the ball.
- We don't seem to be able to create many chances.
- We don't seem to be able to score.
- All of that when playing against a poor Shrewsbury side.
- Yet another wan*er of a ref today who managed to ruin what was already a sh*the game.
- Another player has been sent off.....
....and we've still got our bloody LB problem!
UTG!

Fair play to the gasheads who travelled up in support.
