Is the Fruit Market site ample size for new stadium? Yes, more than enough and considerably larger than the Mem footprint.

The ideal sector is one which would promote sustainability in a city area or would benefit from that kind of presence. For example the motor vehicle industry is a revolutionary sector at the moment with the switch to Hybrid and EV technology. If you could convince a manufacturer or a large dealer group to partner building an EV showroom and workshop base in and around a football stadium, then you would have a market for that. I know from experience that dealer groups hate real estate around their necks as it ties up investment in product and expansion. They usually fund the build then sell the finshed asset back to an investment company with a large lease. That sort of model would work perfectly for us and its already had great success with The Benz stadium in Atlanta. Now we dont need 80k arenas for ourselves but if we are looking at building at the FM site in central Bristol then these are the types of partner to look at. Good insight there 1981, sounds good to me. I hope that Wael has his head screwed on with this stuff, as if we cock up the stadium situation half as badly as we cocked up our footballing strategy, then it will be extremely costly!

To be clear nobody is saying people shouldn’t post apart from LPGAs who’s on a wind up. There are really good valid points why people are concerned and a forum is the place to air it but the old arguments that we finished bottom it was his fault etc have been done to death and are baseless. Same with off the field stuff a handful of one off incidents and suddenly the blokes a criminal. What I will say is people on here were saying back him or stop suppprting the club F off to Ashton etc but that was at the beginning when he arrived and a lot of the people who that was aimed at have now gone. I wasn’t one of those posting that and never would were all gas heads at the end of the day Did he go to prison? If he did, that may well be the very definition of a criminal. #justsaying Wirralgas has openly admitted on this thread that he has been on a windup.

Probably that muppet on this thread who'd have them still at Boothferry Park if he had his way. That would probably be me but at least I can take comfort in not being a half witted bore…and I have never said Hull didn’t need a new stadium, I have said we don’t for one for three very simple reasons, we would rarely if ever fill it, we can’t afford one and we should have other, very obvious, priorities. Ah this old chestnut. The old "we have to be successful and sell out our stadium in order to justify a new stadium" thing is ridiculous. We'll never be successful while we're stuck at the Mem, and any success would only be fleeting as we are massively unsustainable where we are. To become more sustainable and to raise our ceiling to cultivate more success, we need a new stadium. Your second point is probably valid though, sadly. Also regarding Hull's move from Boothferry Park to the KCOM, maybe you forget that Hull were languishing in Div3 (L2) when the KCOM was being built and when it was first opened. Funnily enough, they got promoted soon after that and again in quick succession. Under your logic, they didn't need a new stadium then, but they've proven what a new stadium can do to a club. Hull City at Boothferry Park would never in a million years have gotten to the Prem.

My prediction for the Euros...Portugal. They've got a lot of talented players again now, and they often seem to be overlooked. They're a much better side than the side that somehow eked their way through to winning Euro 2016.

£2.5K according to salary sport. Zain Walker is on £500 Salary Sport is nonsense. It amazes me how these websites are allowed to be out there. Making up random salaries for players and publishing it online doesn't seem right to me?

And who has the money? - not the current owner that is for sure. You'd be a bit more credible if you posted anything else other than your sad agenda against Wael.

Yep, worth persevering with both of them, especially as they'll be performing at a lower level. It could give them the springboard they need to really kick on. I have been massively critical of Hanlan since Christmas, he was absolutely dreadful, but I'm hoping that a rest followed by a good pre-season will do him the world of good. He showed in glimpses last season that he can be a good forward in L1, so hopefully he can replicate those glimpses over the course of the season in L2. Unless Hanlan is on about 500 quid a week I'd get rid ASAP. Don't get me wrong, I've never gotten so angry with a player constantly as I was getting with his going to ground and tripping over his own feet every time he was anywhere near the ball! But when he was fresh at the start of the season, he wasn't a world beater but certainly miles better than in the 2nd half of the season. If we can get him back to full fitness, he might be worth having in the squad. Emphasis on the "might" there.

Amazes me that people talk about keeping Zain Walker and getting rid of Hanlan. walker didn't look likely to score a goal during any of his appearances. hanlan had a reasonable record until he became a spent force from playing through injury. One of our own is not a reason to keep a player. Walker is 19 and experiencing his first season in pro football. Hanlan is 23 and has played for five different clubs. No point really comparing the two, I would keep both. Yep, worth persevering with both of them, especially as they'll be performing at a lower level. It could give them the springboard they need to really kick on. Is there no limit to how many different ways the lower league clubs are getting f**ked over? This is ridiculous. Limit the squad size, increase the number of games with the EFL Trophy, prevent emergency loans, academy players snatched for peanuts. What am I missing?

Should just scrap everything below the first team.why do the hard yards just to be turned over I tend to agree with this, only out of principle I would not want to give in to the scandalous system that screws over the lower league club academies.

EPPP strikes again. I can imagine it wouldn't scratch the surface of the cost of running the academy. Happy to be proven wrong on that though.

Interesting stats there mate. Without using the stats we did look better under Barton. A little more organised with a little more aggression especially from kick off. Whilst Barton took over when we were 2 points adrift of relelgation, it is an absolute certainty to say that had Tisdale had 2 more games we would have been in the zone anyway. By the time JB took over, the squad was lightweight, injury ravaged, bereft of confidence and the one thing that was out of his control that constantly happened were insane individual errors, poor decision making or absolute moments of madness. That cannot be coached, that is about ability of the individuals and their fit into the team at the level they are playing at. Sadly we had too many individuals that were unable to play at L1 level and relegation became a certainty, regardless of who was in charge. All I will say is I have far more confidence in Barton than I ever did with Tisdale and Garner. Agree with all that mate. And happy to be shot down with the points per game stats by anyone but I truly believe that the system that Barton will play will yield dividends once the correct/quality components are added. I mean he had to bring in from the Dev squad and play young Martinez out of position to cover DM despite having Hargreaves and Liddle to choose from so something strange behind the scenes has been happening. Love him, like him, not bothered, dislike him or hate him... one thing we all must agree on is that this window is bloody important to get right and get the players in that can make all of this work. I am optimistic for sure and just want to see a couple of signings over the line so we can get a flava of what to expect UTG Good post. While I was bitterly disappointed with how we went down, I will still naturally be excited once we start bringing players in and hopefully we will start to see much more effective football moving forward. I hope that once we do have players to play in a certain style, that if for whatever reason we do have to change managers at some stage (emphasis on the IF) that the board learn from their mistakes and hire a manager with a similar playing style philosophy, so we can have some continuity that we so desperately lacked since GC left.

Umm, I'm confused? Are you saying you've catfished the forum? Jomo, i said he called relegation early and was proved right, and that this was good management and proved he knew what he was doing. 6 people liked it I believe I insinuated you were a WUM for that comment, then backtracked and apologised when you said you weren't, but now you're saying that you are? OK!

I think most people probably realised Wirralgas is an idiot and a wind up. I’m not a comedy writer so he did overstep the mark but all the points he made and laboured were points made by others - just enhanced slightly. I used to be quite active on both forums. I was against Barton’s appointment, but was disappointed to see the cult like status he was achieving while destroying our season. I left both forums as any criticism of him was being thrown back in our faces and yes, I was told to **** off to Trashton after saying I wouldn’t back him. Arguing the point was futile so I gave the parody a go, after all, the trouble with arguing with an idiot is you stoop to the same level and he’s better at it than you. Some of the arguments Wirral has put forward are illogical and non sensical but are just a regurgitation of what we’ve had to put up with from others. From “it’s Barton or relegation” to “shut down the threads”. But what has been great is the amount of likes I’ve received. There are posts I’ve read back and I have no idea what the hell I’m trying to say, it’s barely English, yet there are 5 or 6 likes presumably because I’ve got in some buzz words like “just back him”. It’s bizarre and cult like - a bit like Donald Trumps presidency. He was able to destroy his own country while people chanted his name. Needless to say I don’t back Barton and I’m not happy with the way he, um, led us to the end of the season. I do hope he’s successful and brings Rovers back up as I’m first and foremost a Gashead, but I support the club and not the man and I won’t be jumping on this blind faith bandwagon. Next time we see arguments like “we went down because other teams started winning”, or “statistically he improved us”, I promise to keep my gob shut though Umm, I'm confused? Are you saying you've catfished the forum?

In a time when things to be proud of about our club are fairly few and far between, things about the club that make us stand out from the crowd for the right reasons, really do stand out! For me the current crest is one of those. I think it's a cracker and I'd be really disappointed if we changed it.
That said, I do like the skull and cross bones design for merchandise etc.

I see our red friends across the river have released 11 players anyone we fancy from this lot? Hakeeb Adelakun Nathan Baker Famara Diédhiou Rene Gilmartin Jack Hunt Henri Lansbury Adrian Mariappa Jamie Paterson Tommy Rowe Liam Walsh Marley Watkins I'm surprised at some of those names they've released, thought they'd have made money on some of them? Ah well, here's hoping they smash it elsewhere and leave City wishing they'd kept hold of them!
