As a newby on here your the font of all knowledge by the sound of it. As you are so informed, I look forward to reading what other diamonds you unearth. Yeah that was my first thoughts as well. All new posts have been about someone telling them something & being ITK... They've even chipped in on the FM/Consortium thread. Why do these people do this to us!?

No different from the comments he made several weeks ago. We all knew exactly who he was talking about back then.
Personally, regardless of what truth lies or does not lie behind Joey's comments, I find them to be absolutely disgraceful. I've never seen such unprofessional conduct in the media from a Rovers manager, and possibly not even from anyone else in football altogether.

Garner lost 3 of his last 10 games as manager. Barton has lost 8 of the last 10 games with essentially the same squad. I think I can spot who was more effective. Think you wil find that Garner had the use of Anssi, Josh Grant, Rodman and Sam Nicholson, without injury, Barton didn't I think you will find that Rodman and Nicholson were injured for a fair chunk of the first 3rd of the season. Rodman the whole of it. Other than that, fair point.

Paul Cook and Nigel Pearson have had dire records since they took over after the transfer window. Does that make them bad managers too? No it doesn't, and I for one am not saying that Joey is a bad manager. Does that make any of these managers immune from criticism? No. In exactly the same way as players performing poorly for one season doesn't make them bad players, managers can perform poorly but that doesn't make them bad managers. Take Jesse Lingard for example. Derided as being past it already until his loan spell at West Ham, which has evidently proved that he's still a good player at Prem level. Jose Mourinho didn't do a good job at Spurs, but that doesn't make him a bad manager. Pearson, Cook and Barton have all fallen below their typical standards prior to their most recent jobs. That means they've all performed poorly, but they aren't bad managers. Why is it always treated so black or white on here? Why are so many people unwilling to add some balance to the debate? It is clear for all to see that we've been becoming progressively worse since our initial upturn in form when Joey arrived. The results and our final points haul bear that as a fact. Joey and those that support him should be mature enough to admit that, but it doesn't mean he has to be sacked. He just needs to accept his failings with humility and move on to bringing us success next season.

I was very much pro-Joey before his appointment. None of this predecessors took us into the relegation zone and I’m convinced we had good enough players to stay up. Some recent statements “Some of these players wouldn’t get in a school side” “Alleged strikers” “Worst team I’ve ever been involved with” Etc etc. To me there’s certain ways you go about doing things and ostracising individuals and being plain rude shows a complete lack of class. I don’t mind calling a spade a spade but I feel he’s pointing fingers at previous managers and current players when in truth he’s been the worst performing manager we’ve had in my lifetime that I can remember. I’ve renewed my season ticket and til be there in august but jury now well and truly out. UTG have a good summer folks. I love honestly and Joey is just saying it as it is but some if the things he says does cross the line, should they be said? Maybe not, but it's the truth and maybe that's what's needed right now at this club. JB gets a summer to rebuild and then has no one else to blame but himself as he pretty much said in his post match interview today. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I find it amazing how many people love the whole "Saying it as it is" thing, when it's actually completely inappropriate and detrimental for a manager of a football club (or any organisation come to think of it) to publicly "say it how it is". To a certain degree it is OK, but JB goes way over the mark. In fact the whole "say it how it is" thing is often worn like a badge of honour by dickheads who think they're clever or insightful, but actually are just arrogant tossers who wouldn't know diplomacy or empathy if it jumped up and bit them on the arse. There's a lot that I like about what Joey says, I do think he's a much more intelligent bloke than many in the media and wider world give him credit for, but he oversteps the mark with his comments far too often and I would bet my bottom dollar that it's for reasons like that that our form has fallen off a cliff since the Accrington game. You make your staff feel like worthless pieces of sh**, and what are you going to get? Probably performances to match. It's not rocket science, and he had it right when he first joined, trying to big them up and give them positivity. Why did he suddenly flip and go from positives such as "Hanlan can be a 20 goal a season striker in L1" to calling him an "alleged striker" just a few weeks later? Is it true? I personally think Hanlan is abysmal, so I believe it is true, but that's alright coming from me. Coming from the manager it is not something to crow about, it's bad management. End of.

We are so lucky to have Joey at the helm. He knows exactly what he wants to get us back in League one again. We are in for a very exciting season and we will be coming straight back up, no doubt about that. He will get the crap players out and bring committed players to this club who will be proud to wear the shirt. The majority of the fanbase is behind him and I won't be surprised to see 8-10,000 at our first home game. Really excited for the future with somebody in charge who actually knows what he is doing! Hold on tight for an exciting season with a team that can score goals and actually defend. Happy days to come and the Mem will be rocking come August! Yes, we're so lucky to have been taken from 18th to 24th in the last 17 games. I count my lucky stars every day for that. Honestly, I don't get it? I genuinely do not get it?

According to BBC, Tutonda right midfield, Hargreaves left, Rodman up front. Has Barton lost his mind? His attitude in the last couple of games since relegation was confirmed has been "* it" so I can't say I'm surprised, but surely we're better off trying to actually win and restore a bit of pride, rather than having a chuckle with nonsensical selections?

Mullin I have a feeling will not score anywhere near as many in a season again after this year. His goalscoring heroics have come from nowhere after he showed nothing to suggest in previous seasons that he had it in him. Fair play to him but I think it would be slightly dangerous for any club bringing him in as a "marquee" signing on the basis of this season.

In the end we’re all League 2 clubs. Big club / small club meh.... our performances on and off the field have led to us being where we are. I hope everyone associated with BRFC develops some fight and don’t assume any sense of entitlement. UTG! Absolutely. The likes of Bradford, Salford and Mansfield in the last 2 seasons have proven that club size or budget don't equal success in L2. Bolton struggled until February as well. We need to be professional, respectful and humble in the face of good teams like Morecambe, Harrogate etc. I can't see any game being easy.

Amazing that Daly still doesn't get a start even with no strikers in the 11. I'm not quite sure what is wrong with him, as I really liked the look of him earlier in the season. Perhaps he isn't fully fit, as surely Joey would give him more of an opportunity if he was?

He will not get a custodial ! Even if he does I’m sure he’d do a better job from behind bars than Tisdale and Garner What, like he's done so far?

Ohh right! God knows, both have overseen shocking declines. At least for them Pearson was never in danger in the first place.

As depressing as that league currently looks and as deluded as I am, I will be disappointed if we don’t go straight back up with a top 3 automatic finish. We aren't even in the top 3 of the current relegated sides. An enormous amount of work to do by Joey and the coaches to turn this sinking ship around and makes us a top 3 side next year. Certainly possible but I have no expectations of it.

I remember all this talk at the end of last season. We were going up. Top four finish. Mid-table. All faith was put into our new manager, that had only had a dozen or so games? He knew what he was doing, H.M.S. P1ss the league.. Does all this sound weirdly familiar??? Gotta admit I got a little caught up in it myself, and christ does it sting now. I'm not falling for it again this season. Cautious skepticism from here on Same here Hugh, very cautious indeed from me! It will be a tough league and frankly I would take a top half finish to stop the rot.

I don't agree with your pro Garner agenda, but I can't disagree with this post. I'm no sports scientist but I'm tempted to call BS that pre season could still have a severely damaging effect on the team even at the end of the season. Fully prepared to be corrected on that though by people more knowledgeable than me. I do think that only bringing the players back in for training on the Thursday, considering we've got the summer break after Saturday, is highly questionable. What have the players done to deserve a 4 day break after the last game!? What's the point in one(?) additional training session, do you really think that's going to change the outcome tomorrow? Barton's making his bed by seemingly moving on most of this season's under performing players, I wonder if the posters criticising him, are prepared to do the same if he does turn things around and make us into a top 7 challenging side next season. I seriously think some posters will be gutted if he does. Topper, I really hope you're not inferring that I'm childish enough not to give credit where it's due? If you are then you obviously know nothing about me or my posting style. Barton gets praise from me when it's due, and stick from me when that's due. Objectivity and balanced debate seems to be quite limited when it comes to Barton because he is such a divisive character, but believe it or not I don't dislike him, and I very much want him to succeed. But he is not immune from criticism, much like no other manager would be.

Remember similar breaks being taken by McGhee when the drive from Brighton was getting a bit much. You're probably right, but that doesn't make the 4 day break acceptable. I work away from home a lot and I can't just willy nilly neglect my responsibilities for a few days in order to see my family. You take a job knowing full well what the sacrifices are, and the time for extended breaks is during the summer, or if that isn't enough then perhaps he should evaluate whether this job is for him. No shame in that in my view, although considering the pelters that many gave Coughlan when he chose to move closer to home, I guess many others wouldn't see it that way.

I’m fed up with reading nonsense from blame avoiding Starnes, Widdrington and Barton. Yesterday presser has Barton still talking about pre-season yet in the early days of the season we defended with our lives in the last 15 minutes of the game to win at Lincoln and Draw at Sunderland...i don’t remember us having fitness issues! We have 15 players who have played over 25 games this season for the club, 10 that have played over 30 games and 6 that have played over 40 games. Claiming he needs to “review the players” to see who stays and goes next season but only had the players back in training on Thursday after a Saturday game! Claiming they are tired is nonsense...get them in for recovery, talk tactics, work on defending set pieces etc. Utter bollocks and after Starnes scripted sh** yesterday it’s all becoming too much I don't agree with your pro Garner agenda, but I can't disagree with this post. The last season Hylton played at League Two level in 17/18 he scored 21 goals and got 21 the season before that. A proven goalscorer at the level who is a nuisance that can ruffle the feathers of defenders and also bring others into play. The list of out of contract strikers isn't particularly great this summer and if we are looking for one with a bit of experience I doubt we would find anyone with a better track record of over 100 goals at that level. Four or five seasons ago he might have been a decent signing for a club looking to get 90 + points Not saying you're wrong per se, but Cheltenham as an example are looking to be crowned L2 champions this weekend, and they don't have any stand out star players. Just a good, well-drilled team. Then you have the likes of Salford that put their money where their mouth is as you are suggesting, that are nowhere near Cheltenham's standard this season. Basically, it's not quite as simple as "we need 90+ points so let's break the bank for a lethal striker". Sure it would help though, but the key is to have the team be well drilled first and foremost.
