Got to be helpful Bradford playing tonight. Ok probably not the full 1st team but it’s a place we never seem to do well at and they are also struggling like us so any slight advantage has to be helpful. I remember a 4-2 win for the Gas there, and a certain Bruce Bannister scored for Bradford City. ...it was March, 1970.

Spent 5 years in the Second tier during the nineties even playing in a higher division than Manchester City at one point. I hope they make it back up to a professional level in the future. Being at Uni in Manchester I saw Rovers beat them 1-0 at Edgeley Park on a Tuesday evening in 1969 in the old Div 3. I think Wayne Jones scored with a long shot. 50 years later we are still at the same level but I remain optimistic! UtG

Great to see the Fan Cam for the Donny game on the BRFC Youtube channel. I like the way the Gasheads gradually rise up off their seats as Ellis is storming up the field then all go mental as he smashes the ball home! Fair play to all that made the long journey - a win always make the return journey easier. My last away trip was to Gillingham...

For Gasheads coming from the London area today- don't forget the M4 is closed between junctions 12 and 13 (Theale to Newbury) all weekend, so allow extra time for the lengthy diversion.

I sometimes check out the press reports from the opposition's point of view to get an alternative (and less biased?) perspective on a game. Here are the introductory paragraphs from a match review in the Northampton Chronicle - they make enjoyable reading...
Congrats to Darrell and the boys, days like these don't come around that often. I just hope I don't have to wait another 18 years before the next one! UtG

Watching the highlights - we played some great football, plenty of skill and movement. Luck didn't go our way with some deflections. Just a question - are players not given offside anymore if they stand in front of keepers and don't touch a shot/cross ? Looked like their guy did just that. Locks - why did he do that at the end ? he's let the team down - next games and himself - don't understand why he didn't just chase him back. Wilson was miles from goal ! No-one let anyone down last night. It's easy to criticise from the comfort of your armchair but Lockyer just acted instinctively bringing down a sub who had much fresher legs. All the Rovers players put in a terrific shift last night and deserve our praise.

Do people really not to go an away game because we haven't done well there recently ? A few things putting me of so far: Charlton did us home & away last year Our defence looks weak without Sweeney/AN Other The ground is a pain to get to on public transport or by car You maybe able to watch it on iFollow for £5/someone might stream it. There's two home games the following week. Although a couple of decent signings next week may sign it the other way. On the other hand... I haven't seen the Gas in a competitive game for 75 days, so I'm going!

Another one. 2 children are born at exactly the same time, on the same day, in the same hospital, to the same biological parents, but they are not twins. How is this possible? How about the mother doesn't stop at two and pops another one out, so they are triplets not twins?

1. Light both ends of rope A and one end of rope B at the same time. 2. When rope A is completely burnt (30 mins) light the other end of rope B. 3. When rope B is completely burnt (+15 mins) then 45 mins have elapsed since step 1. Well done - you get the job! Thanks a lot! Only problem is that in an interview situation my brain turns to mush.

We give these types of questions to interviewees where I work. Here's one of my favourites... You have two ropes and a lighter. Each rope has the following properties: If you light one end of the rope, it will take one hour to burn to the other end. The density varies throughout the length of the ropes such that it burns at different rates. So, the first half could burn in 1 minute, the second half in 59 minutes - you just don't know. You need to time 45mins by burning the ropes - how? 1. Light both ends of rope A and one end of rope B at the same time. 2. When rope A is completely burnt (30 mins) light the other end of rope B. 3. When rope B is completely burnt (+15 mins) then 45 mins have elapsed since step 1.
