It's one thing having masks indoors, but outside? Ridiculous
Those home lateral flow tests are pretty useless as well. 4/4 of mine have come back negative while I was positive for covid, and others have had the same experience. People are taking the negative result as some confirmation they definitely don't have covid and thus they may end up being more damaging than useful.

While 32k infections is quite high, what was worrying was the speed of increase each week which was going up in itself. The last few days this has slowed right down, and if it carries on like this then the increase in daily infections may well stall soon. With July 19 coming up, could not be better timing. Fingers crossed.

There was always going to be an exit wave and the public health situation is very different, this is where we now have to learn to live with Covid as we do seasonal flu. I struggle to understand why people cannot make an informed choice around when and where to wear a mask,it's not rocket science is it.All the carping from Starmer just adds to the confusion,he clearly intimated that the PM said you don't have to wear a mask and that is not true,it was clear that whilst it is not a legal requirement guidance will be issued as to when it is the sensible thing to do,how is that difficult to understand. We live with 20k of flu deaths a year without wearing a mask and this is no different. But this is deadlier and more transmissible than the flu, at this point we should stop comparing it with the flu IMO. We will almost certainly have to learn to live with it at some point, but I do feel 18 months in is too early. Let’s see, maybe I’m wrong, but I can’t help but feel that all Covid measures going is a good idea. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t be mandatory to still wear masks inside like supermarkets, transport, cinema, pubs & restaurants etc (unless you’re eating or drinking). It would make such a small difference to our lives yet make such a large difference to cases. Would make such a large difference to cases? That is questionable to say the least. Plenty of US states got rid of mask rules with similar warnings, and it made no negative difference whatsoever. I’m not saying Covid isn’t serious or dangerous, but I can’t help but feel like the media are guilty of leaving people far more scared and risk averse than is rational. baggins.. I currently have Covid, and having had both jabs it’s barely a mild cold, which is what most people can expect.

Where would this segregation stop?if you applied this to all aspects of life then would the likes of supermarkets have a mask hour? Not a bad idea, although probably better to have a mask free hour. If by wearing a mask it allows more fans to go, why would people object? Because having a mask strapped to your face for two hours isn’t everyone’s idea of entertainment. Especially when outside there is a very likelihood it would achieve nothing.

Arguments for masks inside are one thing, but if you try and make people wear them outside, it will probably get the same respect it does at Wembley and Wimbledon. None
If you’re worried, an open air terrace would be a good option.

There’s still a chance Rovers will enforce masks or something, unfortunately. Hopefully not

So tomorrow I start my long journey back to the UK! Starting from a 'red list' country which has less than 150 daily cases and still not yet recorded a single case of the Indian variant. I had to decide a couple of weeks ago if I should first go to a Greek Island or one of the Balearics. Talk of Balearics going green later today so maybe I've gone for the wrong choice! This will be followed by another ten days of home quarantine when back in the UK! So more than 20 days after leaving I'll be free to move around the UK! I just used Randox for my amber list tests and they were quick and recommended. They do a day 5 test to release for under ÂŁ50. There are also discount codes I believe.

Certainly not as bad as the media loves to portray. Give it a week or two and it could well be back on the way down. “Exponential growth” was the fear, well every day it’s edging away from that. That’ll be the part where you see the R rate above 1 It’s 1.2-1.4 . And dropping every day (those R numbers always have an obvious delay anyway). Clearly we want to look at this through different lenses so let’s just leave it there.

The weekly rate of increase is decreasing every day. I know that wasn't really your point, but just to paint a different picture to the doomsday foaming sky news. 20 % increase in a week. R rate 1.2-1.4 in England Latest growth rate for England 3%-6% a day . That’s going well ? Certainly not as bad as the media loves to portray. Give it a week or two and it could well be back on the way down. “Exponential growth” was the fear, well every day it’s edging away from that.

Thought they were decreasing, not increasing the time gap? Just read that, that was the date I got when I booked it last week, I’m hoping they bring it forward. Login to the NHS vaccine booking portal and you should be able to switch to an earlier slot

Boris says all adults in the UK to be offered the vaccine by end of July. I’ll be devoured if we can hit that More under promising and over delivering. First doses will be offered two months before this and every adult will be finished by July-August Unfortunately after that it’ll be “we all need a booster before we can get rid of all the rules”

When was the last time we made a successful managerial appointment of someone not already at the club? Out of god knows how many

It's not like Tommy Widdrington hasn't played 100's of football league games, and is pretty disrespectful from one ex player to another. Holloway never f**king managed anyone once and used his QPR contacts to get started signing Lockwood, Power, Parmenter, because that is all he knew
[/quote]
TW is ultimately responsible for how successful the football is and in that respect he has been an absolute failure. I don’t see the correlation between Olly using his contacts as a rookie manager and TW throwing his weight around with influencing tactics and team selection instead of letting the manager get on with it? That part could well be poor speculation on Ollies part admittedly with only one side (probably Garner) having their say.

Don’t see a problem with the Olly article, he absolutely hits the nail on the head. It was been monumental f up after f up this season by those in the higher echelons of the club. To be at risk of relegation this season of all seasons...

Ignore the May date for the top 9 groups, the government just wants an easy target to smash. It will be mid-late March There is talk of every adult in the UK being offered their first dose by the end of May, or likely the start of June I've seen a lot of articles going round about having the country vaccinated by May tbf. I was then surprised to see the main news article from BBC about May being just the top 9 groups. I guess it all comes down to supply, as with Bags maths - if the supply is there, no reason we won't vaccinate them by end of March. The government is purposely dampening expectations with messages of doom for two reasons.. firstly to keep people sticking to the rules, and secondly so that they can save the day. Take a look at this weeks polls, it’s working. It would take some drop off of supply for it to take until the end of May. In reality it’s likely to keep going up.

How we football fans love a target and scapegoat. It's not hard to get fit/lose weight.. just don't eat junk food/drink booze. The blokes getting paid to do it and also has the added calorie allowance from playing football several times a week. He deserves to be called out, its lazy and unprofessional.
