What was it DC said not long ago, something like... "When Bristol Rovers lose a game, all of a sudden it's a disaster" I found myself thinking that since Saturday as well, but it's really not unless that feeling lingers. 20 games unbeaten, 5 wins on the bounce, that does it to you. But it's really not. We are still top of the league. Barnet haven't got the form for a title run in. Our performances aren't upto scratch? Grimsby fans have wanted Paul Hurst out all season, citing boring 1-0 wins. We have beaten those teams, no one is special in this league. I listened to Martin Allens interview 10 or so days ago. My first impressions were that he's lost the plot a little bit, the exact opposite of where I see DC. I know we have a few bad days at the office, but we still grind out the results, and how often do teams win 6 on the bounce or go 21 games unbeaten? How often does your keeper let the ball slip between his legs over the line? Halifax is a massive game for me. Important we don't lose. We don't want the rot setting in. Our last 5 fixtures couldn't get much better on paper. Grimsby, Macc and Barnet also have hard games on Saturday. It's only natural to start assuming the league title with our form of late, and to feel very down after a defeat. Grimsby will get that feeling again soon. Their fans, and Barnets, are talking about going undefeated for the rest of the season. That just won't happen. I don't actually feel we need an attacking centre midfield that much, as I'm not sure we would use him. We played aimless long balls on Saturday. Our strength is on the wins, two passes and you get the ball out to Balanta and Dawson (no more bench for Dawson, please), that's all we need. Get your best players in the game. Of course, I wouldn't say no to an attacking midfielder, but are there many about? Worth noting that Dawson has played a fair few games in AMC for Leicesters development squad... Onwards and upwards? We're already top. Trust in DC the defeat on Saturday meant nothing. we were gona lose a game at some point . i think most people could see we were gona come unstuck given the way we have been grinding out results. were just fortunate barnet lost as well. hopefully saterdays defeat will give the players a kick up the ass they need to cross the finishing line first.

Barcelona would struggle to put on a good show on this pitch.

i think we'll be ok , we still got Lockyer , Mansel and Monkhouse can play CM. if he want's to play 3 in the middle balanta can play behind the front two . so its not like we haven't got any options but still gona need a player in on loan.

Will be absolutely gutted if The Beard has done in his ACL or something, it really couldn't have happened to a more undeserving player. Easily my favorite player since Sir Rickie left, he's got an absolutely first-class attitude and has been an incredible ambassador for the club in his short time here. Even if he doesn't kick another ball this season he's my player of the year by some distance, he's epitomised everything that's good about this team compared to the half-arsed dross we had last year. They weren't half-arsed last year ! Why do Gasheads keep writing that - maybe a half-arsed manager and board, but I remember the players trying hard all the time - the tactics were often poop and players out of position but the players DID put effort in even the much -maligned Eliot Richards ! Oliver Norburn wasn't kicked out the club and tom parks striped of the captaincy for nothing. JW was to soft and allowed players off field antics to ruin the season

what a total non-story. were in pretty much the same position we've been in the last month or so, wakefield wasn't in the team anyway. i'm sure there must be a couple of first year pros who can fill the bench.

I doubt constable , burton and midson are earning peanuts also turley was quick to turn his back on us and join Eastleigh. Wouldn't of done that if there wasn't more money on offer. Good try but Eastleigh and FGR are a lot higher up that table than you think.

If and when we get out of this God forsaken league I hope and pray that the team, fans and board make the pledge:
Never again will we allow ourselves to slip this far Never again will we sign players because they like the size of the paycheque Never again will we allow ourselves to be duped by agents touting below average players as saviours Never again will the board take the fans for granted Never again will we take our league status for granted Never again will the team turn up and simply expect to beat a bunch of part timers, or clubs with pitiful league attendances. Never again will the team give less than heart and soul for this club Never again will we, as fans, slag off a signing before he's even played a game Never again will the board or manager allow whatever malaise that took over the players last year and before, to rise again
add your own........
most of the things on that list have changed because of darrel clark , once hes gone the three year deals will soon be back

Everyones always going to hold different opinions about different players , our success this year has been more about being a good team than having individuals winning games for us . That's probably testament to Darrel Clark . I'm Personally encouraged by the fact we have just gone top and we probably still got a bit in the locker. The people who complain are a minority and would still be complaining if we had back to back promotions and won the fa cup , some people just like to moan. Cant agree with that last bit. No serious Gashead would moan the tiniest bit if we'd had back to back promotions, let alone won the FA Cup!! I can understand both sides of the argument. After spending so many years waiting for some success, we actually went further in the wrong direction, and for a lot of Gasheads, dropping out of the league was just a step too far. In recent weeks I have found myself saying: let's get our ''too big for this league'' heads out our asses and make sure we drive the boys on to promotion, BUT for plenty of people who've supported the Rovers for years and years, nothing that we do in the Conference would ever be good enough... not even being top of the league. The fact that Brostol Rovers would win the Conference ought to be so obvious that it's nowhere near worth thinking about - and I can understand that people feel like that. And it's why we've been on a great run of form, knocking on the door of top spot, and yet still aren't getting 7k at home. I know plenty of people who spent decades supporting the gas, caring about it so much and desperately dreaming for the club to do well, but just don't go anymore because it's too much to take. There's only so much suffering that some supporters can take. I would think that the people who are criticising and moaning a lot, are people who are close to the point of not being able to face it anymore, but are still desperately clinging on... still putting themselves through it. These Gasheads (including myself) are so so disappointed/frustrated/hurt by where we are and feel that seeing as they are still supporting the club, they still have a right to voice their views/feelings. So although I can understand the Gasheads who have stopped coming, I'd much rather have people still coming to support the team/club and moaning, than have people who don't come at all. If everyone gave up (which believe me, a lot of people are close to) then the Club would die. So I kind of feel that we should be grateful that our crowds have held up as well as they have, even if the moans and groans are spilling out occasionally. UTG! That's a good point , i suppose we should be grateful were getting people through the gate whether there complaining about the football or not. I haven't checked but i'm pretty sure attendances are up on last year and if we were to go up and were operating at the business end of league two we would be hitting that +7k mark. but that's just getting way ahead of myself thinking about that.

i noticed a few certain "fans" that have turned up in the blackthorn the last couple of games who spend the whole game shouting abuse at players and complaining about everything, they even stayed behind to wave wnkr signs at certain players when they were being clapped off at the end of the game.
why even turn up ?

'BLACK PLAYER APPLAUDED BY OPPOSITION FANS'
Why is it the media has totally biased reporting? Why when there is love and hate in the world go they only focus on hate? My only guess is if they stir up enough hatred there would be a bigger story for their next pathetic edition.
We had so much to be proud of last night, so proud to be a Gashead today. where did the quote come from ?

There is no doubt in my mind that Clarke rested Dawson last night. Do people genuinely believe that Clarke believes Gosling is a better player? Football is about utisilising the squad not just the first 11 and who knows if Dawson was to get injured for example then Gosling would step in so Clarke is right to show some belief in him. So you are saying that in a vitally important must win game our manager has failed to pick his best team? isn't every game a must win game ? were not going to be able to play the same 11 players for the rest of the season. sometimes a manager needs to give a player a rest. you don't see whats happening in training every day but dc does . at the end of the day we won and dawson will be that bit fresher for Saturday. lets get our heads out our asses and stop getting upset cos we didn't beat braintree by four or five. 3 points in the bag , next game please.

gosling looked good over the Xmas period but hasn't really been in the starting 11 since, either way saving Dawson for the last 20 mins worked in the end so i don't think you can criticize dc to much on this selection. Easter and Sinclair will be back on Saturday which will be a huge boost to us considering we've been pretty average the last two games.
