I would hope a deal was already in place subject to PP to purchase the land. I think it's currently owned by a "sporting body". If we have permission and the purchase can complete soon then work could commence very quickly! UTG

Whilst agreeing that many changes of staff are needed, January is an awkward time to get the requisite players. Anybody any good is required by their current team, so will cost much more, anybody else we don't want anyway. It's the summer, when you get better value for money. That said, you could work your way through the team today, and be hard pressed to find someone worthy of their wage this week. Roos? Nuff said Brown- so so James Clarke so so Leadbitter- just not good enough. Won't take on full backs, and forgets about defending. Lockyer - long since time he was taken out of the firing line. Lines - just not good enough Etc etc etc. Until DC is willing to drop his untouchables, this will go on. Dont even start me on the rest of the team. DC has been here over two years and still can't pick his best 11. It's not a project DC, it's a bloody football match. Chelsea have just picked the same team 10 games running. And they can afford to chop and change every game. DC needs help, and I hope he gets it in January, because if he doesn't more and more people will start thinking the unthinkable. However, first and foremost he must help himself, by developing a settled team, give or take the odd one or two changes match by match. As for today, where was Boetang, who is big enough and strong enough to deal with the Barrow giants? This game proved, as if we didn't know already, our biggest weakness is that we have no height in the team, therefore we might as well give up on corners and free kicks into the box. We have a keeper that few have faith in. Therefore we are weakened at the outset. We must get a tall striker in, a tall strong centre back, and a tall strong goalkeeper. That will be the three musts in January, then in the summer, another three or four quality players to replace our conference players who have over achieved, but have now reached their limit. That said, I would still keep Sinclair, but replace the others. "Lines - just not good enough" Bullshit. Line is quality on his day and has been more consistent in his 2nd spell. I just feel he needs a kick up the ass sometimes and to get stuck in more but to say "he isn't good enough" is a bizarre comment. ....& Boateng had done stuff all to demand a place in the side. Very disappointed with him Hartley Roberts & Moore who have done little to justify being brought to the club.

I drove past the site if the proposed Training Ground on Saturday and there was a red Transit van appearing to be "emptying" the dilapidated changing rooms. Other than that nothing has changed up there for a couple of months. Let's hope for some movement very soon.

There is a good footballer in there somewhere - has been in two promotion squads, contributed when asked and on top of that a bloody nice lad and very much part of the team spirit within the club.
I for one will never knock the lad who has been part of a very decent few years for the team. His cameo sub performances at York & against D&R - making the winning goal by starting the move - deserved another years deal & I hope he comes back and is given another chance.

Very sad news, RIP Ray a true Rovers hero & legend - what a line up that was for my early games at Eastville including the likes of Hall, Hillard, Jones G, Oldfield, Davis, Mabbutt, Hamilton, Jones R, Biggs, Bradford & Jarman.

For a bloke with little acknowledged ability it's amazing how every week the finest Manager in the history of BRFC picks him ahead of stars, legends and future stars!
Either the doubters are wrong or he knows something about Darrell.
Personally I think he is one of the driving forces behind our team, the bloke who will do anything, sticks to his instructions, makes a mistake but goes on again and rectifies things. A classic example of why we have come so far in a short period of time, prepared to run through a wall for DC.
Linsey too different class, head up often bossing supposed better players and again driving us forward.
As for Charlie - the world is his lobster - he can go far in this game. Bloody genius!
Lucky Gasheads are we!

Haven't the squad had a few days off over the international break - Easter poster pictures of Dubai on Instagram & Sincs was fishing with his nephew. Peter Hartley was watching ex club Hartlepool Saturday. Guess DC saw a squad training session as a priority rather that a day on a coach/minibus to play in London.

He's bringing investment into the uk by funding facilities which will benefit the local community, landsdown is taking his profits offshore and not paying tax on them. So the £47m stadium Lansdown has funded isn't a facility which will benefit the local community?! What does that have to do with a chap from Bristol not paying UK tax on his income and investments?

We missed him terribly on Saturday. We missed him yes, sign of a decent squad is winning (with some ease) against a decent side without your best players! Thought our front 3 did very well despite missing Matty.

Almondsbury district council have lodged an objection to the training ground on the basis of spoiling local residents quality of life. It is thought to be Highly unlikely to make a difference I think you mean Almondsbury Parish Council - think they have been a thorn in the side of quite a few Sports Clubs over the years including Almondsbury FC & Hallen FC/CC

Went up there earlier this week and it is a fair sized site. I cannot see us being there any time soon as I assume we can only start developing it when the planning permissions has been granted. OK, we could put up temporary porta cabin changing rooms almost immediately, subject to planning BUT the pitched will take some time to create and for them to be playable. This does look promising provided we do not have to allow the Police/Ambulance helicopters from landing there as apparently the locals are already up in arms about that possibility. I also hope that any floodlights will not cause a problem. Police and ambulance stations both a mile away on A38 before M4/5 junction. It seems previous applications for lights were agreed.

Roberts played a few games for Yeovile last season; and its not as if Browner or Leads have been pulling up trees; I am looking forward to Bradford City match on Saturday, hopefully the fella makes his debut. He played 45 games and was Player of the Season.
