Exactly this. In the last 20 odd years: Francis (round 2) after Holloway and caretakers - terrible appointment. Graydon - Terrible appointment. Atkins - did some good but the football was ugly and won nothing. Penney - old school didn’t work with the players. Sacked. McGhee - talked a great game, but couldn’t manage a beer up in a brewery. Ward (round 2) a good half season but had no passion, lost his tactical nous, signed awful players and cost us our league position. On the younger managers: Trolls - had LL holding his hand but ultimately he was a good coach/manager. IMO was sacked to quickly. Buckle - would have probably worked long term but he shot himself in the foot with comments made but signed some excellent players. DC - probably goes down in history as our most successful manager. Since when was PT a good manager on his own, he's continually failed when given the managers role, with us and then at Cardiff, if anything your list proves we've been incapable of employing any decent managers apart from DC, then clowns like MidlandGas call for him to be sacked!! Sadly this is actually right. We get a good young Manager, hard working, decent chap, loyal and successful. Without doubt one of the best 3 or 4 in the last 50 years & some idiots call for his head. Incredible really and quite without any thought about how sh** most of our more recent Managers have been & how lucky we are to have him.

Game after game Rovers fail to create chances and score. We have recruited players who have scored with their previous clubs. Then they play for us and the goals stop Surely it must be the training and tactics. I am becoming very worried the way the season is going on and off the field. ...beat Coventry 3.1 just 10 days ago 🤷♂️

I’m guessing here but I’d bet Payne is carrying a niggling injury of some sort. A strained not very good tendon?

Not according to Football Ground Guide!
''There are no pubs for away fans in the immediate vicinity around the stadium. In nearby Shepherds Bush Green there are a number of bars, however, most do not welcome visiting fans and employ doormen to enforce this, checking match tickets on entry. One exception is Belushi’s Bar, which is located in the Vue Complex, opposite Shepherd’s Bush Tube Station. This basic bar also shows Sky and BT Sports. Otherwise, alcohol is available inside the Loftus Road Stadium (albeit just bottles of Carlsberg at £4.95), although for some high profile games the Club opts not to sell any to visiting supporters.'' Theres plenty. Far better off around Hammersmith just two stops down the line!

I think Broadbent is more of a natural winger, why not try Bennett up front as a target man? No - Bennett alongside Lockyer st the back surely!

I do not know enough about Rhys so have no idea if he will be a success or not. However so far the it appears we are unwilling to spend money on a good striker so an immediate attitude change at senior level within the club is needed. Cole is available for a permanent deal (I understand he is not available for loan) I suggest the club stops pussyfooting around and tomorrow go back to Wigan make him our fourth signing and a permanent one at that. Prices to watch the Rovers have gone up, the last thing season ticket holders need to hear is a senior member of staff sitting in front of a camera whinging about how tough the market is, a good player is available go out and get him. Dead easy just like that!

In his interview to-day DC says that he's carrying an injury and will be paid on an appearance related deal.DC looking relaxed. Not sure he said carrying an injury just on the long road back from an injury!

DMAC is a gambler in both business and in his football dealings. It’s like he is playing Football Index type stuff but with real players & a real club. Over 30 ins/outs this close season & practically a different side on the field for our first game than for our visit in April. Wants £7m for Marriott - who is very good but....?

Think he took craigs place at left back and played all season for millwall last year. They nearly made the play-offs. Yeah, didn't realise he got on so well at Millwall. Clearly out of our league now, literally and metaphorically. Meredith would be an amazing addition. Great player but probably well out of our range!

You don’t think the likes, of sercombe and Craig, aren’t on 4K Really?? Yes, really. The average at this level two years ago was about £1,400 (I think), I'm not sure it has risen significantly in 2 years, so it would be a surprise to me if those players were on as much as that. Got to agree with Pirate - doubt if any are currently on that sort of money but as time passes I’m sure someone will be! Absolute madness really and in most cases totally unsustainable level of wages.

Are you serious? I don't post on here often, so excuse me if I have missed a joke. You have not missed a joke it's just that I cannot stand dc What an absolute idiot. Not sure I can believe what I am reading here. The bloke leads us to the healthiest position for ages against all odds & shows loyalty far far greater than the club deserves & you don’t like him. What’s not to like?

Telford being offered a contract is common knowledge. I wouldn’t mind seeing him back but I doubt he will reject Stoke for us after we gave him so little game time last year. In truth I have never known why DC has bothered with Loans, he never uses them to our advantage Lumley & Sweeney.....?

We are only proposing to organise the relevant number of buses for the trip as an alternative from Edinburgh to Sunderland and back. Anything else would be up to the individual. Please note this thread is putting the feelers out for numbers Easyjet will do the same for the Edinburgh flights as soon as numbers start rising - will only need 20 or so booking seats for the prices to start rising dramatically again. I hope the team weren't planning to fly up by easyjet. A (good) car with 4 passengers with 2 drivers leaving Bristol at 6 am will get to Sunderland around 1 o'clock - and home around midnight. Cost each around £35. Wouldnt be be surprised if Sunderland shut the top tier or sections of the stadium off whilst they are in this division. Come on it’s 5 hrs max.

....or perhaps the Managem3nt don’t want to sell too many STs where the average price per game is almost half the walk up price.

I too would keep Rory, hard working, never selfish & we know he has a goal or two in him. Take him out & we really need two more strikers & I doubt we could replace him with much better with the sort of fees clubs are demanding and wages players expect. Rory is another of quite a few lads who (I guess) have done very well for this club without costing us a fortune in fees or wages.

Peterborough signed a LB Jason Naismith from Ross County said to be one of the best in the SPL - 6 figure fee - but Ross Co were bottom and would struggle in the League below us. Spending over £1m already but cashing in on Marriott, Maddison, Forrester, Grant & da Lopez Silva all moving on.
