FWIW Tisdale and Widdrington played in the same Southampton squad 96/97 and will know each other very well. Won’t be disappointed if it is Tisdale but my number one choices would be Adkins or Cook. They both have a bit of pedigree at a higher level and I see them as coup for the club.

Paul Cook (WR 43.1%) my first choice, experienced but highly unlikely to leave the north west, Second choice was Flynn (WR 42.1%) who's doing a good job at Newport maybe lacking experience and we'll have to compensate. Third choice is Nigel Adkins (WR 42.4%) who's experienced, managed some bigger clubs and available.

Came as a shock for me as I thought he would given a little more time. As a supporter what was glaringly obvious was his inability to affect games with tactical changes or tactical subs. He almost seemed so blinkered that his style of play was superior to changing to more direct approaches when trailing or needing penetration in the opponent’s final third. I think we have a talented squad of players maybe just missing the most vital of ingredients GOALS. I liked Ben as a person and wanted him to succeed but it became obvious come the end that he was not a leader of men. I was not a GC fan but he could lead a dressing room and as with any manager in any line of work you don’t have to like them for them to be doing a good job. The next manager has enough time to evaluate his squad and make necessary tweaks come January. I remain optimistic that this season can still be top half.

On Saturday vs Burton I really struggled to get a stream. I tried Chrome, Edge and a VPN setting. I made sure I logged out of ifollow everytime. In the end I switched of wifi and used my phone as a personal hotspot and ran a 4G connection which worked perfectly. Im not that computer savvy but it must be said ifollow is a ball ache! Hmmmm... That's a tricky one. Could possibly be your home internet connection (any idea what speed you pay for?) For example, my Mum's on Sky, and honestly her WiFi is rubbish, I have to just use my 4G when I go and visit, and also depending on how many people are in the house the speed gets shared to everyone, but as you then hotspotted your phone, you likely had a better connection all to yourself I think! Pain in the ass granted, from what I've been reading, certainly sounds like it! It was at the in laws very basic speed broadband, I have fibre at home which is much quicker.

I did the same on Saturday (hotspot). My internet is crap as can't get fibre at home so it's good to see other people are having a problem and it's not just my internet! I'm not sure what difference a VPN setting would make though? Hotspot chewed my data allowance about 5GB for the match. I was at my in laws who have very basic broadband in the end just pleased to get the game on. VPN always works for me getting glasto tickets so was trying anything.

Genuinely thrilled by this signing. Hope he can show the form that regularly used to rip many teams apart including us. Unplayable on his day at this level. Still only 29. If we can play a system that suits him and the team its a very shrewd signing. Welcome to the Rovers Erhun!

Perhaps we are buying him to use/convert into a left sided attacking winger rather than a defender?

Having a change in club philosophy with a rookie manager was always a risk by WAQ and co. I don't want any manager to fail but being realistic its a results based business and results haven't been good enough. I would give BG until early November (8 weeks) at the most to get some decent results/form. If we did need to recruit a new manager it gives them time before a new window to evaluate his squad. Again hope BG is successful and turns his and the teams form around.

Good luck to JCH clearly the championship didn’t offer him what Posh are. We have made a good profit on him not forgetting he’s not the fittest of players. Only worry is where are the goals coming from. Would like to see us break our transfer record to replace him.

Apparently there are 12 trialists involved tonight. Any names? No lame trialist family jokes please. No sorry no names.

It was just nice to watch my team after so long. Upson bossed it first half. It was understandably rusty but it’s all about minutes in the bank. Cam Hargreaves impressed me as well. Disappointing that Barrett did his hammy as he looks the sort of player that needs a decent run of games to get fit.

I've been told that the JML deal is done, this from someone who I believe to be reliable.

Cov in for Arsenal’s Ben Sheaf. Westbrooke would be a hell of a signing for us, he is that midfielder we have been missing. Plenty of scope for our coaches to improve his game as well. Cov seem to have a surplus of midfielders hence why he could be looking for another club in order to get the games he needs to progress his career. Him and Jack Bridge as back up would be impressive.

Welcome to the gas Jonah. Now can we get on and sign that dominant, expansive midfielder who can break the oppositions lines and get us on the front foot in the centre of the park! Well norton, we’ve been waiting for that one for a couple of seasons really haven’t we? As you say though we do need that midfield creative player. If we get him then I’d be really looking forward to the season. Some say Barrett is that player, I’m not sure but I hope they’re correct! UTG! Agree, our midfield sit so deep because we lack this player. Barrett has promise not sure he's ready. Our signings have been great but creative CM has to be addressed if we are going to play more possession based high intensity level.
