Matt Taylor reminds me so much of Jamie Cureton - similar movement and finishing (and goals scored). People used to get on Cureton's back too: calling him lazy, wasteful, too individual, saying he was sh** if he didn't score during a game and blaming him for the collapse at the end of 99-00. Some would even moan on the terrace when he was banging them in, complaining he wasn't tracking back etc. Fickle sods will always moan. Taylor has his weaknesses, but he ain't Neymar, so as long as he does his job (he did it yesterday) people need to calm down and let him get on with it.

Hamer didn't baulk at any questions - his narrative of how the Al Qadis aquired the club was very transparent.

Sod the old bus - it's been scrapped; aren't we now on a gleaming new coach, with a decent driver and a decent set of moving parts?

I read bits of otib quite often tbh. I am quite impressed at how every piece of news or info about us gets noticed and twisted into a negative! They really don't miss a trick. Some might call it obsession? I am not sure what they are worried about, we have a long journey before we come close to their dizzy heights. They've been doing that for years - always look for the negative with us; it's how they must live their lives. After the banter over the Ashton Vale debacle, most Gasheads seem to say fairplay on the new Ashton Gate, it looks awesome, but you can bet if we built a stadium like that first, they just be full of negative bile and future doom. I also love how they believe themselves, as a fanbase, to be superior to us. They seem to forget idiots like this:

The UWE may not fit the new owners business model. They may decide to buy land and build elsewhere in the city. They seem non committal atm over a new ground although acknowledging an urgent need to provide one. As well as wealth the owners are connected to the real movers and shakers. Interesting times. I do hope they build on the UWE site (having acquired the freehold). I can't bear the thought of more years of investigations and feasibility studies, planning applications, false dawns, TRASH/ROSE style blocks and general process codshite. Steve Hamer said they are very keen on the Abbeywood location, and with a freehold the commercial opportunities would be much greater (full control/full receipts).

We all know where we want it to end, but before we start out, just a few thoughts. Will the share scheme now cease. Will the 50-50 be required as there is now no real funding required? Will helpline still continue? And of course the same goes for the other fund raising that is currently done. If I can, I'd like to make an early suggestion as to how we proceed. Before we get to carried away, and I am just as guilty, let's all remember where we are today, when we hopefully become the Man City of the West Country. We all owe a debt to those that have gone before, amongst them Denis Dunford and Ron Craig. So I was thinking, it must surely fall to us to preserve the memory of those who fell in two world wars and ensure that the much maligned gates to our current home find a new and fitting setting when we eventually leave the Mem Can we therefore set funds aside to ensure we leave a fitting home for the gates, whether it be at our new home or indeed moved to a better setting near their current location. Maybe the men could be knocked down and the land used for our new training facilities and acadamy? if we move to UWE then surely the Mem will be sold for housing (and a memorial garden)? a training facility on a prime bit of land suitable for suburban housing seems unlikely.

The decision to pull James Clarke and go to 4-4-2 was spot-on. It still took a half time word to really get us playing better, though.

Steve Hamer said to 20man, something along these lines: "Tomorrow we have a game and football has a nasty habit of bringing you back down to earth quickly". Hopefully the changes haven't jarred the team and we can show the Al-Qadi family something good today.

I think now the supermarket isn't being built, it would be possible to have a decent sized space for the already planned Memorial Gardens next to the houses or whatever does end up there. spot on, i'm sure if they want to buy the freehold of the UWE land, then the mem will be sold on to house builders. Can they insist on a fugly grey sky scraper with a big window facing Radish's garden?

Hamer spoke clearly about evolving success, and that they feel the footballing side of the operation (as well as the Stadium plans) have a solid footing to work with. He was clear that meeting DC, they want to support him and grow the club not just buy us up the league. I think, aside from the blogger, most people, are humble but excited with mixed, but positive emotion for the next part of the club's future.

I'm going to thank Higgs with no reservations or caveats at all. He's invested a lot in a football club that has historically lost money due to the mortgage on the Mem and general cashflow contraints. He may not have every decision right, but i'm sure the new owners will make some mistakes during the next phase of the club's journey. Thanks Nick.

Are Northampton completely sorted financially now? If there are still any issues, I can't see why he wouldn't run off to Rotherham. It is still possible they can survive in the championship, and even if they don't, they have a new stadium, and must been pretty well funded. Also how classic is it that like 5 months ago Northampton were basically begging other clubs fans to donate and save their club and now they're wandering away at the top of L2 having spent more than arguably any other club in L2. Also if Northscamton are still in troubles, they may have no choice but to accept a fee for their manager. But even if he does go, a change in manager doesn't mean they will suddenly bomb.

Reality is they DO hate us, just like we do them. Offer them Cardiff winning the Prem or the sh** getting beat by Gas just once, they'd take the Cardiff option all day! And the levels of stupidity on their forum should be a surprise to nobody. Have you ever taken a trip through South Bristol!?? Hartcliffe, Hengrove, Knowle/West, Southville, Bedminster, list goes on. Take your pick! A special kind of moronic weirdo down there!! You won't find anything quite like it anywhere else!! I live in South.B and the deep south is crammed with Gas. When I taught at Withywood School a lot of kids were pure gas and seemed to wear their colours with so much pride they seemed more numerous that the other mob.

If she is still upset I don't mind giving up my time to comfort her, if anyone has her address. I have comforted lots of maidens in distress. What are you some sort of pervo? Are you in to sloppy seconds or summat? The sloppy second brigade are the ones who buy a pasty at full time for a pound. On a similar note, is there now a burger bar in the blackthorn kop by the turnstiles? does it sell burgers?
