An aside. 19 fouls by Colchester United tonight. BRFC remain the most fouled side in the league this season. By a country mile. Postcards out. Is there any reason for this? Seems weird we're so consistently getting fouled more.

“A poor scouse background” when has anyone said this? You don’t need to cite sources for an opinion. It’s a suggestion as to the motivations as to why you believe someone’s been unfairly treated. I think it's probably fair to say he's been overly maligned in the wider media coz of that sort of background, but the idea that lower league football fans would hold that against someone has gotta be strange.

"We've dispensed with boom and bust hires. We want Southend United to have a club football structure which decides what the club wants and its vision, which will be set out clearly to you guys in the next week or two, not the dangerous cycle of a manager who comes in, rips up the old guy's team, buys his own, only to be sacked a year later." Sounds relevant. Wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't wait to f**k off. I think I would. Fully expect to see Southend above us in the league soon, then, with BG's Swindon and DC's Port Vale, and probably LM's Gloucester.

You know how it works. Win a few and he’s the almighty himself. Lose a few and he’s a deadbeat. Football really is that fickle. Get us into the top 6 rapidly, and you’ll find the “he’s an awful man etc” will be a very isolated and small group. It really is that simple. As with any workplace, all that matters is merit and results. Got to be honest I think Rovers fans are more fickle than other teams fans these days, I really hqve to try hard to stop myself commenting on some posts these days, what you say is exactly right I think we obviously have a middle ground of fickle fans who sway with the recent results like any club, but JB brings more than that to the table. The idea that the only argument against JB is a few recent results is bizarre, and I suspect you're being wilfully ignorant. Talking of stopping yourself commenting, did you ever come up with an answer to my question last week, when you said we shouldn't call for JB's sacking coz we should always back Rovers managers, and I asked you why you had called for BG and PT to be sacked. Did you think of an answer or were you just trying hard to stop yourself commenting? Kinda ironic that you're accusing others of fickleness.

If you took him at his word everyone he comes into contact with who doesn't do exactly what he says is incompetent or negligent or cancerous or whatever and everything he does is great and the only way forward. Either he's the greatest football personality there has ever been (looking at his record I'd suggest this isn't the case) or he's full of sh**. He’s been complimentary about Wael, several other managers and most of the current squad. He’s not been complimentary about the shower of sh** who assembled a squad of no hopers (who the previous 2 incumbents couldn’t get a tune out of) and most pre existing parts of BRFC which we all used to moan about constantly. The good thing about fairly narcisstic and nasty streak individuals like JB is they don’t sugar coat sh**. This club has been a shambles for years. With or without Joey B, this collection of underperforming deadwood had to be cleared. GC got a break with JCH but other than that since DC left we’ve been completely mismanaged. As for JB, his own judgement of himself is somewhat immaterial as everyone as nobody tends to slate themselves. I gave up backing or berating managers long ago as I admit I’m not privvy to the situation behind the scenes, and I am not a football professional. However, this club definitely did need a root and branch review. Yeah, he's been complimentary about Wael. I wonder why. I'm sure as soon as he leaves he'll spill a load of bile about the bloke and some people on here will lap it up. Makes I larf, too, about everyone on here saying about what yes men BG and PT were, when the real yes man is JB. My perception is that he's a slimy whiny creep who can't be trusted. Just because we've been a shambles doesn't mean JB is solving anything, I fear he will just create slightly different shambles. I'm not privvy to anything, either, but JB mouths off so often, I think it's possible to take a view about him. To be honest, I don't understand why people are so keen to make excuses for him. The underperforming deadwood underperformed more under JB than anyone else. Though I didn't particularly rate BG, with the benefit of hindsight, I feel like, looking at how he's doing atm with Swindon, he had a better chance of keeping us up and turning that deadwood into a team than I gave him credit for at the time.

Just take this in. On 18th October Just 210 gas chat members had voted in this poll. An incredibly small amount of members are actively involved in this. It’s hard to use this poll as a representative sample of the gaschat base. Even less if we include fan base. To build any credibility in this poll many more need to vote. I wait to see the figure increasing. As I said 210 people. Take that in. A sample size of 210 is perfectly reasonable to get a pretty accurate picture of a wider population, all things being equal. What isn't reasonable to do so, is a self-selecting sample like this. So if you're gonna disparage the accuracy of the poll (and why not, it's probably not very accurate) on mathematical grounds then you can do, but not for the reason you are claiming. In any case, why suddenly invoke science, when your posts are usually more concerned with a gibberish sort of rationale? More people voting won't really build credibility. In any case, I don't think anyone's really claiming the poll is scientific, so you don't really need to worry about pretending to refute it.

Does feel a bit weird voting for which charity should get money. Yeah, I feel like we've just bullied a load of charities out of some money through weight of numbers. Obviously a cynical ploy by Asda to get some clicks, rather than their genuine wish to help people.

No, that's the law. You're allowed to have an opinion about stuff independent of a court of law. Otherwise you'd just be having other people tell you what to think. I mean, this is so obvious, I don't understand why people keep going on about innocent until proven guilty, without adding 'in the eyes of the law' after it, as if it means something. thought this was a Bradford v Rovers match day thread and not about JB personal life, sorry my mistake Why did you start posting about irrelevant court cases, then, if you're so concerned about the purity of the thread?

16,664 at the game. A mystery to me how Bradford are so consistently mediocre. If a club could claim to be even more under-achieving than us, it's probably them.

Not the best comment when it's Joey we're discussing.... sounds like you have already found him guilty, I believe he is innocent until proven guilty, anyway that's another subject for another day No, that's the law. It clearly doesn't work for the teams relegated each season who replace their manager's as otherwise wouldn't be relegated. With hindsight perhaps we shouldn't have sacked BG, although I can't recall Wael seeking advice from Gaschat members before he made his decision. As far as Tisdale, he was a totally disaster from first interview when he claimed he didn't even recognise some players. The issue with sacking Barton now is that he still seems to have the support of the players, will any incoming manager have their support, if not, January is a long way off for any new manager to be able to then bring in his own players. You missed the point I was making. Clubs sacks a manager and keeps sacking them until they get the right one. Your example for when it doesn't work like when a club gets relegated, is irrelevant because when it doesn't work you sack again and again until it does work, which was my point.
So, sacking managers does work. It just works sooner for some clubs than others. Some clubs sack a manager and the replacement does very well. Some clubs sack a manager and the replacement is just as bad. The cycle repeats until you get the right one.
Literally every single club does this. Or are you saying every club is wrong and a handful of gaschat members are right? And as for gaschat members, your comment about not recalling Wael seeking advice from this place, what on earth are you talking about?
Every appointment is a gamble. You ask will any incoming manager have the players support, well the players may get on with a new manager better than JB regardless of their current support for JB. It is all pretty common sense stuff really.
That's not how it works. Hiring managers is a throw of the dice, just like Yahtzee. And as everyone knows, in Yahtzee you get three throws and then you have to stick with what you've got. Those are the rules.

I've read it. You're wrong. Again, whatever floats your boat- you lot on here are literally everything that’s wrong with this club. So, now, you are, too.

Ludicrous statement. It's quite plain that it's possible for three managers to be wrong. It's just fundamental to the nature of existence. what is ludicrous about that statement? Are you saying that the strikers those managers wanted, they got? We haven’t scored enough goals since JCH left. That’s been our main problem. Cutting our cloth, which the board wanted to do, is the reason for our demise. Pay peanuts get monkeys. No, I'm saying that the idea that three managers cannot be wrong is inherently untrue. This is obvious. The three managers in question haven't even agreed with each other. Using the idea of three managers not being able to be wrong as the basis for your argument undermines that argument. I agree we've had a series of underperforming strikers but that has nothing to do with whether a number of managers must be right. In any case, we had a higher relative budget than our position in the table last season, and currently this season, so that cannot be the reason for our demise. If it was all about budget we'd still be in the third tier.

the point is that its all irrelevant, you can be any position after 20 games and it has no impact on the outcome out of interest who were the top three after 20 games last season and where did they end up? 5th 6th and 10th

's food.
Bristol Rovers turn to ex-West Brom and Wales striker Hal Robson-Kanu to aid League Two campaign
Hal Robson-Kanu’s The Turmeric Co. will be providing nutrition support to Bristol Rovers throughout the season
Bristol Rovers have signed a partnership with Hal Robson-Kanu's The Turmeric Co. providing first-team players and staff with nutritional shots each day.
Turmeric is said to house anti-inflammatory properties and helps aid the recovery process for athletes, and Robson-Kanu's company also work with Brentford, British Gymnastics and rugby league side St. Helens.
Robson-Kanu, who has 425 professional appearances with West Brom and Reading plus 46 Wales caps, founded the Turmeric Company in 2018 after several years of research into the plant, sparked by a serious knee injury and his frustration at taking so many anti-inflammatory drugs just to enable him to play.
Luton Town, Swansea City and Plymouth Argyle are some of the other EFL clubs who have also signed turmeric partnerships over the last 12 months.
"The players and staff love The Turmeric Co's products and they have been extremely popular at the training ground," Rovers nutritionist James Aitken said.
"The players use the products on a daily basis, helping to relieve the strain on the muscles and joints that the demands on professional football put on the body.
"We look forward to working closely with The Turmeric Co. as the season progresses and thank them for their support so far."
The main active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, which holds anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-depressant properties, as well as helping with weight management and improving skin conditions.
Rovers players Sam Nicholson, Alfie Kilgour and Paul Coutts at The Quarters with Turmeric Co. products.
Speaking about his company earlier this year, which is on track to turn over £12m this year, Robson-Kanu claims turmeric became a “secret weapon” in his career after a "light-bulb moment" in which he woke one day without pain in his knee after taking the product.
“I began to realise I would recover quicker than my team mates,” he told The Grocer. "From there, it snowballed. My teammates began using them, then family and friends.
"We want to affect tens of millions, hundreds of millions of people through what we do."
