Morecambe Sat so a great opportunity to get an overdue win on the board. We were awesome at their place with Mattee and Ellis briliant. They had a player sent off last match so assume he will be banned this week.Don't think the away support will reach three figures as we get more away than they do at home!!! Not sure how they manage on such miniscule crowds but they have a neat stadium with cover and good facilities for visiting fans. Also, the Guy that made them tick,Jack Redshaw, has left. Reckon we can we get back on track and complete a double.Hope we will all be smiling again at 5 pm Sat. I can't remember how many times in my 30 odd years of being a gashead this combination has ended up as a 1-0 home defeat despite us having all the play. ?

From the other point of view, Morecambe fans will be laughing themselves to sleep tonight! Anyone remember a Rovers goalie scoring for us??No but I remember Jocky saving a penalty after Mr Glum had been sent off. If I'm correct it was against Brighton when they wore the most horrendous pink Christmas tree patterned shirt. We still lost though.

Firstly I did not call YOU racist I just called your post racist. Secondly I did not resort to calling you names and insulting you personally. I felt that your post was unacceptable for the reasons I have already said. If you had written 'you'll never beat a large corporation like Sainsbury's' I would have agreed with you wholeheartedly but to write something of such a general and sweeping nature that does come across as intolerant at best was something I had to respond to. I believe that you and I both want the same thing -a shiny new stadium and a successful rovers team - but I stand by what I said which is statements like the one you wrote do not help the image of our club as you have no idea who is reading a public forum.

It's more about racism towards the Jews on Holocaust Memorial Day. I cannot abide any form of racism but yours seems particularly inappropriate today of all days. Furthermore you have no idea how many rovers fans are Jewish or have any connection with the Jewish community and your statement hardly helps the general image of the club. I would simply ask that in a world where intolerance is the cause of so much that is wrong you think carefully before posting intolerant and inflammatory statements.

I am extremely sceptical as to whether anything good will come out of it. To be honest I'd take a decent bit of compo right now even if nowhere near the full whack. I hope I'm wrong but unfortunately in this world 99% of the time the big players get what they want, that's why they are at the top. UTG will never beat the Jews Seriously. On Holocaust Memorial Day?

You would have thought that a club with their low average gate would welcome the money the bigger clubs can bring in. Seems to me they are trying to put people off unless they think we are all idiots who will pay inflated prices.

worth noting that Bolton who are £180 million in debt have paid £1 million to agents this season which is considerably more than our total budget. And they haven't paid their players this month.

I think that is harsh on Nicholls. He's let in some long range shots I'd expect him to keep out but worst ever - how about Luke Daniels and Sam Walker. Walker for me is the worst keeper I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt. Sam Walker and Luke Daniels were playing behind an atrocious unorganized defense and our club was in free fall. A top keeper would have struggled. Nichols has managed to concede goals left right and center where Mildenhall puddy and chapman looked as solid and assured as their defense with only the odd mistake here and there that can happen to any keeper. It's all about opinions of course but Nichols looks lacking in ability , reflexes , positioning, confidence and pretty much everything to me. Neil Etheridge played behind the same defence as Walker and he did very well. I personally think Nicholls is raw as a keeper but has shown some good signs - including yesterday where he did well in tricky conditions. I'm not claiming he's as good as Nigel Martyn but he's been ok on the whole. I've also got little faith in Mildy who towards the end of last season looked completely out of his depth. However the debate about Nicholls is almost over. I'm getting more concerned with whoever takes over.

I've seen all his home performances and one away and going by that he's the worst keeper I've seen in my 30 years supporting Rovers. He seems to concede more shots than he saves to me. I'd be happy if we could go out and buy Chapman in January. We need a keeper who is our number 1 and preferably on the books too but if not then anyone except Nichols even a past his best over the hill Mildy would be better right now. I think that is harsh on Nicholls. He's let in some long range shots I'd expect him to keep out but worst ever - how about Luke Daniels and Sam Walker. Walker for me is the worst keeper I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt.

Aside from the great performance and win, I found the minute's silence before the match today quite moving. It was a brilliantly delivered speech from Nick Day and observed impeccably by all in the ground. Agree with this. Does anyone know if it was written by Rovers or was something issued by the football league?

Two great goals from Taylor. Lines looking back to his best with surging runs through their midfield.Montaño took his chance and put in some brilliant crosses that deserved better. Defensively solid and Nicholls did what he had to well. Happy days! This. A fit Lines driving forwards helped us break at pace and showed us how good we could be. Thought he deserved his MoM although there were others who did well too. Good finishes from Mattee. Am I the only one who thought Bodin was a bit subdued today?

Used to enjoy Keith Valle's unique style of talking the pxxs out of everything whilst we were at Twerton Was there the day we played the Teds and he commented on Substitute "Junior being Bent" Don't think you'd get away with that these days though... "Coming on for city is junior bent and I expect he is bent" was what he said I think. I think he either got the sack or was suspended for it. Another one was when he announced Man City's sub Gary Flitcroft as Gary Flip Flop. I remember that evening. I thought he said "And at no.11(?) is Junior Bent...and I hear he is" But Keith Valle did get suspended for it. He came back some time later but without the wit and sarcasm and didn't stay long."
Loved Runaway though.

As has been mentioned on other threads we are creating a lot of chances. What we need is someone who can stick the ball in the net as Harrison, Easter, Taylor etc. don't do it regularly enough. Is Tubbs still good enough and fit enough to be that man? If yes then sign him up, if not then look elsewhere.

I know, I was just being grumpy and having a moan. Got to face a school load of teds tomorrow so that's going to be fun too.
As a teacher? Detention all round if so. I'm not sure detention for being a ted is accepted as part of the school system. It should be though. Maybe I'll suggest it tomorrow in the staff meeting.

Kind of matches our home form doesn't it.
Moving the game to a sunday cost us 1000+ on the gate and we're out. Great call.
Wasn't the club's call. I know, I was just being grumpy and having a moan. Got to face a school load of teds tomorrow so that's going to be fun too.

From the current squad it's Lockyer because he's got so much time on the ball. All time is hard to choose but Marcus Stewart was genuine class. Although for pure excitement it could be Roberts or Hayles.

A coincedence or a sign? Just had a quick look to see what position Chesham were in the Evo Stick Premier. Turns out they're 17th, one place below and on the same points as Hitchin. I was there in 1995 when Hitchin beat a strong Rovers side 2-1 in the first round of the cup. That Rovers side was better than todays and only narrowly missed out on what are now the league one play off's. Finishing 10th, 3 places and 10 points ahead of City. Hopefully the fact that Sunday's opponents are in an almost identical position isn't a sign of a similar shock result. Given our home record and last years shambles against Bath, I'm not taking anything for granted. I nearly went to this game but chose not to. Wasn't it Archer who scored or is my memory not what it was?
