I can't see we "got rid" of any wingers? Released · Tony Craig · Tareiq Holmes-Dennis · Liam Sercombe · Sam Matthews · Tom Nichols · Gavin Reilly · Rhys Kavanagh To clarify... The two loan lads from championship clubs.. Ginnelly and Mr double barrelled surname.. How do you expect BG to keep loan players, when they simply returned to their own club's. As far as Mensah I never saw enough of him to work out whether he was a winger or striker although the sooner he departed the better for all concerned. Also.. People moaning about no creativity in midfield now.. News flash.. We had one in sercombe who has now been released.. If BG likes to play attractive football then you can only assume he has someone else lined up to take in this role otherwise he'd have offered sercombe something. So, don't panic!!! Those moaning about a lack of creativity in the midfield are probably the same ones who moaned that sercombe gave us nothing after his maiden season.. Careful what you wish for. The reason why he was less effective was because he was dumped out on the wing instead of being in the centre where he could've influenced the game more. Then GC came in and decided on a brawn rather than skill approach. I feel sorry for sercombe. Talented boy but as stated, BG must have someone of that ilk lined up as I can't see him changing his football philosophy to accommodate three hoofers in the middle. I don't really see where Sercs fits in a central midfield role in an L1 side when he can't tackle to save his life, it'll be interesting to see who he signs for next season and where he plays, as it looks like his new team will have to build their CM around him, rather than him just slotting in to a 2 man CM.

you are very negative about your own team. I remember seeing Ogogo and Upson having some f+cking good games for us last season. Sercs and Ollie - yeah they had mediocre seasons. Ed Upson has had a F-kin good game?? Ever? Last season he was one of our best players up until Christmas. Seem to remember him playing particularly well in the 2nd half against Southend but I don’t seem to have the picture memory some seem to have of games which aren’t highly significant.

I think the point was that we've lost two winger options from the side that last played and will need to be replaced.

I agree that sercs is better as part of a trio.. Just slotting in behind the front two in a sort of paul Scholes role. With Abu and dare I say, Clarke, to do the tackling, his role would be to add creativity. I don't remember Glenn hoddle being the best tackler in the world either but this is where the comparison ends. Hopefully BG has something lined up and I'm sure he has

Yes, good luck to Sam. Scoring against Real Madrid in a friendly for AFCB to Crawley, I hope he does well. Sad it didn’t work out here but perhaps not the easiest 2 years with 3 managers for any player. UTG!

"It's a bit of a coup for us in all honesty."
More of a coup for SM to bag another 2 year contract with a league club after hardly playing any games for us in the last 2 years.

I think that's a good move for him, gives him a chance to get the opportunities in league football that he didn't have with us and at a level I can really see him shining at. There's a really decent player there, we just didn't get to see it because of injuries and him being behind others in the pecking order. Good luck sam.

Last night Tom Nichols started for Cheltenham in their 2 nil win over Northampton. No doubt if he signs for them and they come up he will score against us.

Has he scored for cheltenham yet? What do you think? I'd be surprised if he's even had a shot on target, I'm just glad for him he wasn't the player who missed a pen last night.
