It could be argued that we've got the best keeper, centre back (Ehmer) and striker in the league. Always going to be difficult for the centre mids this season if we play 3 at the back. I think if we can get a good left back then I think we'd be very strong this season. Simple then; goalie to CB to striker ........ Goal! Forget all these diamonds and triangles; a simple line will do. Even better, Lines? Never forget your lines! UTG

Sorry Ben Garner but you can't just get rid of a player who has scored the majority of our goals and who is under contract. Are you mad? You are certainly embarrassing and to be honest whether you eat humble pie is neither here nor there. The fact is you can't just go out and find a replacement. Remember when we got rid of Lambert! Personally I think it is far more sensible to9 go out and sign another striker to play up front with him. We should only let him go if he wants to go and nobody has a clue what the situation is.

Anybody got the highlights - especially the goals? Thank you for this. Exeter kit design is something else. Red / White with Black shorts and zebra crossing socks. What a mix. As you go from head to toe, the socks made me dizzy? Pretty sure that Exeter played in red / white only in late 70s / early 80s when I used to watch them? Tony Kellow, David Pullar, Ian Main in goal, etc. I think you are better off changing your shorts and definitely your socks and you may get better than a pedestrian approach? That's a cracker! Hope you get promoted this season! As for us, big screen not on? Hope it works in season; same applies to the clocks and sound systems. UTG

I know it’s hard to tell too much from this but did anyone else notice Exeter were constantly targeting our left side?
If we have any signings still to make I’d like to think we are looking to strengthen at left back.

To clarify, I'm not saying it somehow makes JCH a poor player, or that we should sell him. I just don't think a professional footballer should be showing up in the shape he has - everyone else seems to have managed to stay in shape and, to be honest it's the least you expect from a professional sportsman. I just think it's very disrespectful in all honesty and, coupled with sitting on his contract extension for over half a year(?) I do think he's giving us the run around somewhat. Again, he's entitled to - but that alongside the lack of fitness could be construed as not giving us 100%, which I think is the least we deserve TBH. I get why he's loved by many - I'm a big fan too in the main - but, IMO, that doesn't mean he can get away with treating the club disrespectfully (which I appreciate is perhaps a matter of opinion at this point). Just wondering what Gas eds reaction would have been if we had signed Akenfenwa and he had turned up preseason looking like....well...Akinfenwa?!!!

Utterly inexcusable coming back in the state he's in. Smacks of arrogance to me. I'd take the contract off the table personally One times write off , there you go mate 👍 No...... no... that's not remotely correct. You stated, and I quote "You literally stated in a earlier post we should get rid of him.". I said we should take the offer of a new contract off the table if he isn't prepared to sign it. I.e. we shouldn't wait around forever and if we've felt we've made a fair offer, we shouldn't be held to ransom. I certainly did not state we should "get rid of him". I'll await your apology with bated breath.

I’m assuming that’s an edited Exeter version of the game, or was it that one-sided?

Not a lot mate, only heard like you that he's a good prospect. They've also got the highly-rated 16-year-old England youth international Ben Chrisene who has already made appearances in the first team. Conveyer belt of talent coming through their academy in recent years. www.devonlive.com/sport/football/why-exeter-city-academy-good-3135431

So were Exeter the better team ? did we have to do a lot of defending to do ? early days I know just curious to know. Even if it's a friendly we should beat Exeter comfortably ??

They played a very strong team from what I read on their Twitter reply’s. “Not far off what is expect for the start of the season” vs our mixed but strong team. Better team first half In the first half for sure imo. 2nd half we dropped off. Apart from Cameron’s goal that was about it... I literally fell asleep 10 or 15 mins into the 2nd half and woke up like 5 mins before the end so didn’t see much of it.
