FFS - stupid bint asking Tis about his cap! Hope he got a grilling as to why he couldn’t wear Gas branded clothing. Blokes a disgrace!

He reminds me of Lines in his final season! The fact he's been benched by the new manager suggests he feels the same, I can't never understand how a footballer gets to play pro football when he can't tackle to save his life, how do they get though youth football and the Academy without any coach teaching them how to tackle, it's not that difficult. Westbrook must be a major headache for Tisdale as he's probably now our highest paid player and he's on a 3 year contract. Interesting thoughts. I think Tisdale will see him as a challenge not a problem. He has bundles of ability and Tisdale can manage him into being the player we need him to be. A decent manager will know when a player like him needs to be dropped even if he’s oozing with talent so as to make an impression on the player and work on the frailties in their play. Totally agree. I do get the impression that Tisdale will work with him, to bring out his best. It was good to hear him say from day one, that these are 'his' players now, and refrained from suggesting that he would need time to build his own squad. I do not see Westbrooke's time on the bench, or rested, as him being frozen out. Westbrooke won't be discarded, but developed, hopefully from a very talented player to an effective and accomplished one. And to be fair to the player himself, there has been no sign of petulance and his attitude seems good, so there is no reason why he cannot remain / become an influential part of the squad. UTG!

Boom! Give me one good reason why I shouldn't start our match threads. 😉 I think we've found our lucky charm 😊 😇 We win 6 - 0 and only you could put a downer on my day. Knobber all day long. 👍👌

Watched the first 30 minutes and thought we looked awful until our goal tbh. Went to watch the start of the F1 race and got completely engrossed in the awful accident there, before getting a text about Rovers, which I'd completely forgot about at that point and to see we were 4-0 up!
Came back for the last 30 and we looked in control, without anything spectacular - which is fine, we were comfortably ahead and no need to get more injuries.
Wednesday will be an interesting game, win and we may have turned a small corner where we've gone back to basics where we've got something to build on. Lose and we can look back at this as a one off against a lower league team.
Fingers crossed we can really build on this

You’d hope that even if the play wasn’t great they at least looked like decent footballers against a non-league side.

I thought we were on fire, for a while.

Totally disagree with reference to Westbrook. He was only on 10 minutes. He was the pick of the midfield in several of the earlier games in the season and is clearly a very good technical player.
Westbrook plays the same role as Oztumer. Hence PT doesn’t look like he is playing them together and I completely agree with that. Not that it’s anywhere near the same level, but it’s the Lampard/gerrard thing.
Oz is the pick of the two. I approve of Oz starting and ZW off the bench or if Oz drops in form.
Harries on the other hand sad to say I’ve seen as a slow, dallying liability all year who often loses the ball.
I am known amongst my fan mates as always being behind players despite poor performance. Backed Nichols to the end to turn it around and I really don’t like fans who single players out. Harries really has rubbed me wrong.
They obviously rate him within the club. From what I’ve seen he wouldn’t be near the team.

I had the laptop on with the footy on, saw we went 2-0 bantered on our group chat we would lose 3-2, got engrossed in th F1 and then saw the half time score!

Complete disaster for me and my prediction of how the game would go. I thought we did a very professional job today and it seems we are going in the right direction. It feels a repeat of the Atkins/Trollope era when the former got the players and the latter got them to play. Excited with the prospect of Tis developing these players.

Surprised at some of the negative comments about the performance.
Granted, we weren’t great for the first 30 (although never felt we were about to concede), but once we went 1-0 up it was a very comfortable performance & win. I thought some of the quick one-touch passing in the 2nd half was even quite nice to watch!
Heck, we used to lose games like this when we were in the middle of a good run under DC with a team full of confidence & goals, so there was no way I was taking it for granted today that we’d easily brush Darlington aside. But I thought we made it as easy as it could have been.

We got lucky with first goal then the second killed the game, although the third(?) was a poor pen to concede by Darlo. GC seemed to have luck on his side, BG zero luck, our early hom season fixtures were all shockers, Tis back with a bit of luck on his side. Gillingham on Wednesday will be the real acid test as Hanlon should be back meaning Tis will have virtually a full squad to choose from.

Take this into the Gillingham game on Wednesday please Gas, that’s the important game with where we are in the table. Nicholson, Oztumer and McCormick had excellent games, caused Darlington all sorts of problems. Truly dominant performance. Hope we go on and get a big FA Cup draw now, feels like we’re overdue one as the last big draw in this competition for us was all the way back in 2011 at home to Aston Villa. Agree about these 3 but you missed out Grant - had a very good game again - always there to mop up threats, good passing and energy. Doesn't lose the ball.

But that isn't hard. I think that was what brought us the win really, we looked solid but not spectacular and we seemed to do the basic things right.

It seems odd to win 6-0 without sounding like we played well as a team considering it was against non-league opposition. Let’s hope it starts to come together on Wednesday then.

Ozzy goes wild infront of the south stand Surprised he didn't get booked for inciting the crowd. If fans had been allowed in, I reckon the South Stand Ultras would have been throwing their knee blankets on the pitch.

A good confidence boosting win at the end of the day. Yes only non league opposition etc but look at Peterborough. A team many would say are far superior to us. In fact, are we not the only league team to dispatch a non league side so easily this season?
The only criticism I have is I though the substitutions were a bit bizarre. Ok Kilgour like for like swap was ok. It looks like PT is trying to help get his confidence back. Its a real shame Barrett wasn't on the bench again as this would have been the perfect game for him to get another 30 minutes.

Some moments of rare midfield quality won us that game. Some of the interchanges between Nicks, Ozzie and the Chelsea lad took the Dario defence apart. That and some assassins play from Daly to get us 2 pens. He’s quality, that lad. They couldn’t live with our passing game when we got it going. Their journeyman defence did their best but got torn open. That ex Shithead looks like an extra from Lord of the Rings.
