Thought it would be nice to mention Josh Grant. For some reason when he does well he seems to go unnoticed. He - in my opinion - had a great game last night. His fitness and desire to get around the pitch looked great, and he is getting better every game. I can see him becoming a very important asset to this team. QUIte agree. He showed us what he could achieve last night. Was it because TW told him to keep it simple, keep his position in relation to his team mates and use his size and strength to unsettle the opposition? Not sure what it was, but he seemed to be in the right place at the right time on a number of occaisions. He's taken a lot of stick on here, and I think it's only fair to say well done Josh!

Anybody else think that Leahy improved even more last night with the responsibility of the Captains armband ? Still think he gets caught out of position way too often. I know he needs to get forward as a wing back but there's knowing when to push on and I'm not sure he's mastered that yet. I agree, I like Leahy and I think he def needs to be in this side, but I have always seen him as a Wing half in old money and not a LB

NOt been easy this season in the left back slot as many teams main strength is down their right where he hasn't had much cover in front of him But he has kept going and never given up always looking for the ball and trying.to drive us on. Personally think be has a lot of qualities to play in centre mid

What a lovely lad JONAH seems to be, can see how much it means to him, seems to have a very engaging personality , bit like Ellis, hope he kicks on to become a gas hero, hope those who criticised him based on a start /stop injury season cut him a bit of slack now.

Well, that was a surprise, certainly surprised Pompey. Rovers returned to a Coughlan "they shall not pass" style game and discovered that two big quick strikers will cause problems for any L1 team if the ball can be delivered accurately enough. It did mean that Nicholson was bypassed most of the time, and when he fell deeper to get involved, could get caught in position in vulnerable areas. Should have been replaced with Rodman when Brown came on. Yes, I’ve read several say Nicholson didn’t do too well but I thought he was good. With two up he was midfield and he was always hassling their defenders and when he got the ball he was a threat and you could see Pompey were worried. He played his part esp him and McC being energetic, like all the team last night. Either way it was good to see us do well when some thought he wasn’t at his best perhaps? UTG!

Good interview by Jonah. Very clear and confident without the ego of so many and thought he side stepped the comment about what had been said about the strikers. Well done. UTG!

Talking about his badges he for achieving back to back promotions you mean? Putting aside your obvious sarcasm, don’t you think it interesting that DC achieved his back to back promotions before he gained all his coaching badges? I doubt very much if Walsall fans gave a single flying one over the back to backs, they were concerned solely with the here and now and the constant changes in formations, tactics and personnel whilst boasting about all his coaching qualifications, which I suspect you very well know. In all seriousness, DC was successful at the Gas because he was had all of the players trained to change formation during games, and sometimes more than once. This often caught the opposition out. I would say that this was one of his biggest strengths, sand if the Walsall fans didn't like it, it was probably due to a failure to get the players to implement it. I agree with you, I don't think that his coaching badges did anything to help, maybe just gave him too much to think about when deciding how to influence a game from the bench.
