Before people assume Bobby Thomas left due to JB criticism of him.
Barnsley manager is ex Cheltenham Michael Duff who was the under 21's manager at Burnley and thus BT's manager there.

Heads not been in it for weeks, you could tell. Good player but poor attitude, could of played today, then sorted things out Monday. Reflects badly on himself, and lesser extent Barnsley and Burnley, obviously didn't care. Hope he makes plenty of mistakes for his new club and deserves plenty of stick when he comes back. Absolutely classless.

That's another Thomas we have lost back to Barnsley. I don't think he was that great to be honest. L1 is his level.

Funny how players leave and we slag them off as crap yet we’re still upset they’ve gone.
So people are a mess of contradiction.
If you dabble too much with loans, players that are not yours, this comes with territory.
Thomas is a good young prospect. We made best use of him while we had him.
Keeping him, even just for one more game ie today, was beyond our control. Let’s accept it, move on and cut the contradictory sour grapes.

I’m sad he’s gone. I thought he looked , at times, like a great prospect. Quietly commanding and confident. In the last few weeks everyone in the defence seems to have dropped their level significantly. An old head required back there somewhere to steady everyone maybe.
When I took my two youngest ones to the recent meet and greet the players at the club shop late stand in “bad boy” Bobby Thomas, as we called him, was an absolute gent! Polite, enthusiastic and great with the kids! He was kind enough to help me and one my daughters get over our stage fright and perform the rap she had written for Luca hoole. He is a legend in our house and I wish him all the best!
Oh Luca! Luca hoole!
He’s like a mechanic, but for football!

Thomas has been poor in recent games, he was all over the place and at fault for at least one of the goals against Plymouth. Deserved a rollicking, personally glad he is gone, gives Joey a chance to bring in someone who will man up and want to play for our club.

Need to boo every touch he takes next month. As I alluded to earlier from the games I’ve seen I think he is bang average certainly league one level, especially on the floor. Massive boos get in his head along with Collins running at him. Tremendous.

Wasn't as good as Kilgour. Only reason he played as many as he did is the bad injury to Connolly and Gibson rarely not injured, if it were in isolation he'd unlikely be missed.
Hopefully this hastens us adding some experience at the back, along with a few better standard loanees. UTG

It’s a fair point of breakup syndrome but let me put it this way: You’re offered the following previous loan players for £250k each, would you buy Thomas? True, but I think location is a factor, not the only factor. Timing sucks though. It was all sorted by Friday. Had to be otherwise he wouldn't have been able to be in Barnsley's squad yesterday so I am sure this all started early last week. Not sure why it wasn't announced then rather than a couple of hours before yesterdays game though? |
