We now share the same platform.
Many post on both.
What's the point of being separate?
Are we actually stronger as a divided voice? I don't think so.
All we need to to, now that we share the same software, is to merge and emerge as a true one strong voice. A new name, same forum, same fans, same club.

Some posters didn't feel welcomed or comfortable by the IF so another forum was created. Ok, you could argue that may have split the fan base. The IF was out of date and very much needed a new format. When that decision was made IF users could have come here en masse. That decision has helped maintain any divide there may have been. I am sure that IF users are very tired of all being labeled Board Bashers and its something I have recently tried to avoid. Equally, I am getting watered off with suggestions that the people who set up this forum are responsible for splitting the fan base. I don't know how possible a merge would be. Both these forums were created by the different needs and aspirations of their users. Maybe if we woke up one day to find a new group of people in box 1 then who knows?

I agree hugo, pretty fed up with being accused of that. How can I split a fanbase? We have brought loads of ppl back together who were in limbo. Im also very proud of that and have no regrets.

Should have no regrets. It would have been nice if people could have stuck around on the IF, but if they feel it wasnt for them fair enough
We have managed with more than one forum for 8 years, i think we can manage with more than one now

Having had a few looks at the other forum I'll definitely be sticking with this one.I'm not against debate but it seems to me that a lot of the vitriolic negativity that was tainting the last one has migrated to there. Yes,we need to have a platform to air all sorts of views but there seem to be a few people who ,no matter what subject the thread is about, manage to turn it to a bash the board vendetta.

No reason at all to suggest this forum is the cause if any fanbase split IMO. If there is a split (and remember we'd only be talking between online fans and not all fans) then it happened when the IF was created (not getting into who's responsible for that!). I use both forums for info but only post here because it has a better feel about it (more positive). That said its horses for courses and the feel of the IF suits others better.

Yes,we need to have a platform to air all sorts of views but there seem to be a few people who ,no matter what subject the thread is about, manage to turn it to a bash the board vendetta. Out of over 700 members currently there are a few who use boring terminology to describe the current BoD. There have been numerous posts asking them to give it a rest. But The general theme is about holding the BoD to account. Should we not do this? On division. There has always been a difference in approach on how we might tackle the issue of the interaction between fans and those that own and run the club. This dates back to 2000 and the subsequent debates and antagonisms between different groups of supporters, some who would set up legal entities to capture the passion. They all failed, including a moribund SC, because of division. So personally I think it a great shame that at one of the lowest points in the clubs history, that this low point could not be used as a catalyst to unite fans under one banner. Sadly I think the decision to separate the main communications tool is symptomatic of this inability. Just my opinion.

I agree with Oldie, any division ( purposely or accidentally ) has been caused by the club. The IF has and in all likelihood will continue to be seen as a bod bashing entity by people who have made this forum their home after trying the IF but generally not finding it suitable for their personal needs.equally the old OF and now this forum are seen as happy clappers (which there are very very few of imo) by the IF and again that will probably remain the case. Its all down to personal experience and personal choice as to which one you use which I view as a good thing not any sort of division anyway.

Both these forums were created by the different needs and aspirations of their users. Maybe if we woke up one day to find a new group of people in box 1 then who knows? Look, its fine to have different forums, the I.F was set up to be an alternative to the main stream. Its focus and interest is quite different to what the official forum was. As it was me who made accusations about trying to split the fan base let me explain what I meant. Its not setting this forum up its the fact certain posters take words from a poster on the I.F and then associate them with the entire forum. They read a post they dont like or they have a row with someone on there and then create threads or posts on here saying the I.F is unwelcoming or the I.F is always this or always that. My point is the forums are made up of individuals and many use all 3 forums. By labelling the I.F as being anti club or anti board is generating an us and them mentality. It would be exactly the same if the I.F stated this forum was full of rose tinters etc. When / if it does it would again be splitting the fan base. People need thicker skin and both forums need people coming from different angles in order to maintain a balance and healthy debate. What I dislike is the split and the us and them mentality. People should not be afraid to express their opinion or feel put off by a bad experience with a poster. The I.F has 600 members and a huge variety of views. Just because a few people are more active on it does not take that fact away. This forum is great, I get a different experience from it and thats why I come on here. Lets enjoy having different types of forums to interact on and experience.

I always used the OF and AF in the past, and am now using this forum and the IF. The good thing is that people on both forums are happy to share info/ideas, so I don't see the fanbase as being "split" - it's not as though either forum is a no go area for anybody. If you prefer one forum more than the other, I don't see that as a problem - posters will be kept abreast of any ground breaking news via those who use both sites. UTG

I'm on both and will try to contribute to both until we join. Both forums are not far apart from each other. We all want the same thing.

I'm the father of identical twins. They are identical but very different.
One is really laid back the other is a lot more aggressive.
I wouldn't want them to be the same.

I think we should just join together now. Only reason I really signed up on here was because of the forum format.
