Probably a lengthy spell unemployed for JB, for us who knows, it's not like JB is some L1 Messiah who's irreplaceable. Let's just hope JB & EJ have learnt from this season's mistakes and we have a far better summer transfer window but you just have a nagging feeling that experienced players don't want to sign for a club managed by Barton. You are literally just making things up all the time Topper. Sorted that for you, it’s a much more accurate statement now 👍

Joey got the club promoted last season, and comfortably kept the club in League 1 this season, his target for next season his play-offs, all good imo. Maybe Joey will decide to leave on his own accord; then what ? Probably a lengthy spell unemployed for JB, for us who knows, it's not like JB is some L1 Messiah who's irreplaceable. Let's just hope JB & EJ have learnt from this season's mistakes and we have a far better summer transfer window but you just have a nagging feeling that experienced players don't want to sign for a club managed by Barton. What like Paul Coutts, Sam Finley, Glenn Whelan, John Marquis, Scott Sinclair, Grant Ward you mean? Complete novices that lot ain't they.

I remember when he signed for us Walsall fans were saying that he was a good player but had an arrogance about him.I was really surprised when he gave it the big I am to the Rovers fans.

They were hardly L1 players who were in demand this season, Sinclair clearly wanted to move back to the west country, Ward was recovering from a serious injury and Marquis totally MEH after his poor spell at Lincoln.

Very strange in a meaningless game giving it large to gasheads who (the majority) liked him and wanted him to stay. You can understand it from the snake or Mr 50-50 but not him especially a former captain. Just a lack of class really. Ellis got some stick playing for us in a successful team and still didnt celebrate

Pah! Stats! Garner looked at stats and look where that got us! Stats are no match for my subjective opinion. I've provided some facts as well though. Facts don't lie and quash subjective opinions. Sure, your 22 goal 3 man frontline with 7.33 goals apiece is fire. Good luck with the loft, Coburn and Marquis frontline. That’s a league winner if ever I saw it.

Good luck with the loft, Coburn and Marquis frontline. That’s a league winner if ever I saw it. Again all I've done is state facts. Collins 16 goals, Coburns 10 goals and Marquis 8 goals as a combined total of goals scored is factually one of the highest scoring front lines in League 1. All I've done is point out that the top 6 and the rest of the Division haven't got considerably better forward lines than us. They may have 1 player like a JCH, McGoldrick, Alfie May or whatever who have scored 20+ goals but their other forwards haven't scored as many combined as ours. Plymouths forwards Ryan Hardie and Niall Ennis have played far more games and have only scored a few more each than Coburn and Marquis and they've just romped to promotion.

I doubt any Rovers fans would have even mentioned Leahy if JB hadn't raised it.

I think any kind of celebration against an ex club shows a certain lack of class, especially in such a meaningless game. I'm sure he will get a warm reception next season though

Ellis got some stick playing for us in a successful team and still didnt celebrate There’s a kind of machismo thing going on in football with pushing everything as far as it can go. Bannan giving it large to the (lol) family stand. Leahy doing this. They are young lads on loads of money, idolised by a lot of people, women all over them. I’d say it’s “going to their heads” but it isn’t. Ironically, people who lord it over others when they have the chance are actually showing their insecurities. It’s classic, the dinner lady who suddenly has some kids to bully on trumped up charges, the team leader who’s job means nothing more than a title lording it over their team members. The Gareth Keenan of football if you will. If you feel you need to prove you’re a big bad man 9/10 you’re not a big bad man, you probably got bullied and are thinking “now you gotta deal with my shyt for a change” Part of it as well is kudos bagging. Who can do the most out there thing. I see it a lot recently with todays players. Matt Taylor was one of them. Ellis showed that he has no need to intensify the misery of others for his enjoyment. He’s secure in himself. We have next year now and lots of opportunities to see karma bite, and as sure as the morning follows the night, it will!

This not celebrating against former clubs is a new trend. It never used to be the case. Just off the top of my head I can remember Peter Beardsley scoring for Everton against Liverpool, Shearer for Newcastle against Blackburn, Paul Ince for Liverpool against Utd, even a few of our own players Mark Walters v Stoke, Jason Roberts v City they all celebrated wildly...... As long as you celebrate with your own fans and teammates I don't see an issue. If you goad your former clubs fans for no reason then that's a bit different.

But in any event, to get wound up by such a nothing is pretty childlike. But we are talking Barton here

Fast start by them and us being asleep at the corner has given them something to hang on to. Eveything from us has been coming down our right from ward and gibbons, but with 3 forwards up top that means we sacrifice a bit of width. Notice the touch line seems to be miles from the edge of the pitch. Reason why he’s gone for a narrow line up? Sorry mate I missed your post last night. I think by going narrow he asked too much of the full backs, because apart from them we had no width so they both (gibbons and Gordon) had the thankless job of trying to get high and wide and yet also defend against their wide players too, so it asked a lot of them. Personally I felt we did better down the right in our play and ward and gibbons played better as a combo than gordon did down the left with Finley. Ultimately though we couldn’t make any of the crosses / pressure pay using that formation and really the 2 defensive errors meant we were punished twice.
