There was actually a bit of drunken brawling at the cricket! Considering how long it took to get a feckin pint quite an achievement. Stewards threw about half a dozen out near me. Someone suggesting it might have been football related. None of them had footy shirts on. Somerset won easily.

Yep suggest if anyone else wants to keep talking about cricket they start a new thread as it isn’t everyone’s bag and isn’t on the topic here of new stands in a football stadium. Well probably my fault so sorry g and e, but tbh there’s not much else to talk about at the moment. And….it’s all, been very good natured without any arguments! I’m sure someone can start an argument on something though. Is that the 5 minute argument or the full half hour one? But I apologise. If the Committee find me guilty I’ll resign my seat. Oops that’s the wrong place as well, it should be the political place! 😉 UTG!

Well I went last night and can confirm I’d rather watch nothing happening on the south stand plot. Other than the weather and being able to watch with (terrible) beer, cricket is a waste of time. 😘

Thanks. I know he played as he took me to practise a few times but maybe a different period Did a bit of detective work KP 😀 ‘Mac’ played for Hambrook, stones throw from winterbourne 🏏💙utg Brilliant, that makes sense as he did embellish things. When i was friends with him he was head bouncer at Lords nightclub and was Keith Moon funny mad. Saying we were at winterbourne would fit this narrative, perfectly. His father was ex para and well respected and known in the area. Thank you very much. He spent years in USA and now lives in France but i no longer have contact, long story. Thanks again PS Are Hambrook in the same league or, put another way, deemed as good as Winterbourne ?

Great match last night, unfortunately Somerset were too good for Glos; great atmosphere in the Sportsman's before the match, come on the Glos.

I remember it being incredibly friendly in the early 80's at Gloucester, being offered cans of Red Stripe and funny cigarettes during quiet County Championship days. By the late 80's the party buses had started going to Taunton, again no trouble but less cricket watching.

This actually ties up a great deal. If we met, now, i could certainly have something to say, after my family died, he continually wrote some purely evil stuff to me. Now i know so much more, this is just one tiny part. Thank you

Gloucestershire for me , old enough to remember the great Glos one day sides of the past , The great Mike Procter's hattrick v Hants was it? Zaheer and so on, Mark Alleyne's all conquering one day side, remember that semi-final v Lancs finishing in the dark, David Allen holding out for England to draw a test match and so on, always regretted not going to Lords for one of Glos finals... perhaps next time!
