Anyone still think P’Boro willl drop JCH for the upcoming game??? If we have tacit agreement with Peterborough that we will be signing him in January I reckon there’s every chance he’ll be on the bench come Saturday - it will be a big statement if he is.

I was amazed when it was first suggested on here that he’d be left out and I’ve not changed my mind. DMaC will think I’m paying this guy £7k odd per week, he’s our player and he’s bang in form - he’s playing.
We will undoubtedly be back in for him in January but so will others. Is he being left out of those games as well? It’s ok to say what if Rovers miss out on promotion by 3 points that JCH may have deprived us but what about looking at it from P’Boro’s perspective - what if they miss out on promotion by three points after losing to Rovers with JCH left out and he doesn’t even sign for us in January. How stupid would that make them look?
(If this game was taking place right at the end of December I’d probably think differently but that is three months away).

If he keeps scoring goals until Jan, it won't be a deal that we can make. If he was to go anywhere, he'd get a good offer from a club in the championship to score survival goals.

Which means if he wants to re-locate to the south west to be with his girlfriend then that relegation threatened championship club would be Bristol City 😳

No chance he won’t play. You are kidding yourselves! I wouldn’t be surprised if we get outbid or move onto a new better target (Longstaff for example) to make an even bigger statement in Jan!

He isn't a loan player. If he's fit he'll play.
What effect it will have on JCH is another matter. He maybe hacked off with us for the deal not going through and/or want to show what we missed out on.

I thought Peterborough wanted to play pacey attacking players and have signed replacements for JCH. Yet JCH still starts every game for them?

I think people are deluded if they think Posh will let JCH leave for a ‘bargain’ £3/400k in January just because he only has 6 months left on his contract.
I reckon if they are in with a shout of promotion/ playoffs in January they will keep him for the season and forfeit the transfer fee.
Promotion would be worth a heck of a lot more to them and JCH could help deliver this.

Just look at the losses incurred by clubs in that division.

Luton and Wycombe and to a degree Plymouth are bucking that trend. I think this is the best season for any of the "smaller" clubs to make it, but they will be relegation fodder due to the gulf, unless they have some of their own promising younger players or have unearthed a diamond, which we don't appear to have.

If a club went up and just said "we'll give it our best shot" but kept the budget broadly the same, you'd make an absolute killing off the one season of being there.

It also depends if anyone else is interested, how much Peterborough need the cash and if Chris Martin proves any good. If I were to guess now I don't reckon he'll go anywhere in Jan.

On previous form they will miss out on selling him again by insisting the January fee is £799,999 until 3 minutes before the deadline when it drops to £350k but without any time to do the forms

If Harris is worth a million then I think the money would be better spent on the toilets.

I think we might have dodged a bullet on JCH. Watching him closely, I think he’s peaked and not the same player we saw at the likes of Plymouth that away day.
He’s filled out, lost that yard of power pace he had, more of a fixed object now upfront.
I’d pay £400k for him in January but £800k with no resale value seems an awful lot.

Exactly what I’ve been saying for ages ! 400k tops , he’s immobile and only gonna get slower. Still scores a few , hence 400k.
