It’s looking again like other than half season of luck (a formation he had no intention of playing and a Geordie he knew nothing about) joey may not actually be that great a manager.
I know it will now be a Joey lovers vs hater thing but huge improvements needed between now and December to convince me he can get us out of this division (the right way).
Are we even really playing entertaining football? Or living off a short lived past

Facts are at the moment his record in L1 with the club is awful and needs vast improvement and quickly

Are we even really playing entertaining football? Or living off a short lived past JB has now managed 133 games with us ,against 128 with Fleetwood. His win percentage at the latter is 39.8% ,with us its 36.8% ,and in a lower division with the gas (21/22),which tells me
things aint getting better ,it's looking like this IS as far as it goes. Now we won't know how he would've got on with a prolific striker , but for me a good manager gets the best out of what he's got
and sadly JB's tactics v the majority and that dreadful record since New Year ,leaves a lot to be desired. I'm willing to get to 15 games , but nothing new has convinced me JB is more than a
average manager...

If it wasn't for Steve Harper and Shola Ameobi it's probably not outrageous to say Barton would've probably have knocked this management lark on the head by now.

Are we even really playing entertaining football? Or living off a short lived past Aside from a handful of games towards the beginning of last season, I don’t think the football’s been particularly entertaining since the last three months or so of the L2 promotion campaign. Yes we have a lot of the ball in some games, but most of the time we do very little with it and dominating possession against teams who are happy to not have the ball for large spells (Wycombe, Cambridge, Lincoln) isn’t anything to write home about, really. Let’s see where we are at Xmas and reassess IMO.

We have recruited top of the league players or championship players with a view to play offs or better.
Perhaps we need a top six manager.

We have signed 13 players in the window, maybe they do just need to play together a little longer than just over a month.
Think we will be fine.

Evolution innit, we don’t want to find ourselves in a Luton type situation. I think we will time our run for when the Fruitihad opens.

If we can't build just a stand or sign a striker without a complete mess up, then how on earth are we ever going to even get to the stage of getting pp for a new ground, let alone build it?

Still can't see who'll put the ball in the net, teams just know to sit deep at the Mem and we'll create very few chances. History is just repeating itself, DC signed Payne, BG just Hanlon and PT missed out on Stockley, all paid the price with their dismissal.

But nothing is pointing to improvements yet. Joey does need to start winning games, especially at home... I would feel like our ability to handle paper work Friday night has possibly hinder our chances though. I am expecting a few draws just like yesterday until we sort a striker out. We've left ourselves in a tricky position would argue not entirely JB fault either.

Its the lack of plan B that is a problem, especially after going a goal down. You could argue yesterday that there was a change in formation after taking off a defender for an attacking player and that got us the equalizer. After that Lincoln were on top and could have easily scored again. I was fully expecting them to hit us on the break and go 2-0 up.
Our opposition scouting teams must have the easiest job when trying to work out how we play. "They don't like to shoot, they put lots of crosses in but never have anyone in the box and they like to pass it around at the back a lot"

Predictable thread i suppose but it is only 6 games with all these new players and i believe that is part of the problem at the moment, JB finding it hard to decide on his best starting 11. Think it will take a few more games yet before he cries 'Eureka' with no one sure of a place .As for individual players mentioned well it's tough on Hoole who has been fortunate to be a regular imho, one of the tiny few to have been given the chance from the youth ranks. He is a very good footballer but as is the case with TAA at Liverpool it is hard to know where to play him as defensively he is imho very suspect. As for Taylor he is in the mix with the other defensive options and has to earn his place based on current form ,not on past heroics. I like JB and am desperate for him to do well here BUT i realise he has to find the answer quickly if he is to survive and where as i do not expect promotion this season i do expect a strong top 10 finish. We will all select different starting 11's and can extoll the merits of same , our ideas will never be tested on the pitch, JB'S are and will be tested and scrutinised, i hope he finds the answer as if we are still 17th /18 come Christmas he can have few complaints should Wael reluctantly wield the axe.

Marquis, Collins whoever it is appear to get nowhere near it and lack instinct. Let's say we did sign JCH do you not think he would have made sure he was in and around the box.

I also do think we were more of a threat when Marquis played at the beginning of the season. He may not score many but he puts himself about, holds the ball up well and would at least be in the box for some of those crosses. He was also very unlucky not to get a goal or two in the first few games.

Style of football has to be quicker. One thing I notice in the blackthorn is the crowd now are starting to have no engagement with the game until we get near the penalty box.chatting and looking at phones it's no wonder the atmosphere is pretty quiet.
