Cricket club looking at moving to another site and selling the ground for redevelopment according to a telegraph article now highlighted by the post. That will get the little green lambs frothing at that thought.

Great site that for a football stadium. If the site is becoming available then our owners should seriously look at it. More space and better access than where we are now. You'd be right next to the new Ashley down station too. Not as many direct residential neighbours. Lets start the thread and get more than the fruit market. All joking aside I think this could be an ideal location for us.

The locals would never allow us to build a stadium it's actually surrounded by residental properties not actually a huge site

Great location but no chance building a stadium there with all the flats they included when they regenerated it before. I expect it’ll be a load of new flats and student accommodation built there.

Could be turned into a car park for the newly redeveloped all seater 30,000 capacity Mem. You heard it here first……!

There was a poster on here called county ground gas or something similar, had a flat overlooking the ground. Bet he won’t be happy.

Hopefully this isnt Lansdown tempting them to go south of the River. Will they leave Bristol completely ? Why would Gloucestershire CCC move to Somerset? I agree...i dont see south of the river as even Bristol...just a suburb in north somerset. However Bristol (as its own county) apparently includes south of the river. Technically Gloucestershire cc shouldnt play in Bristol at all. Bristol county cricket club ? You know how the empire builder wants all first class bristol sport in the Ashton gate area.

Ha ha - yeah man, let’s tell her we’re building a new 25000-seater there and selling the Mem to Tesco to finance it . . . 😀

The locals would never allow us to build a stadium it's actually surrounded by residental properties not actually a huge site Actually I've measured on Google earth and the site is significantly bigger than where we are now. It's even bigger than the Ashton Gate site. As for locals, I can't imagine they'll be any more troublesome than what we already have. There are also less direct neighbours to the site. Add to this the county cricket has larger capacity than us.

I wouldn't put a football stadium on the GCCC site whatsoever. People moan about the traffic at the Mem so the problem there would be far worse. I lived around those parts 30 years ago and it's an atrocious place without Cricket let alone football.
In fact I was even born just 15 mins away from GCCC in Cotham, moved back in 1990 just before I joined the RN. Traffic has always been an issue from Cotham to Bishopston' it starts to ease up a little once in Horfield. Just my personal opinion. That is All
