Shambolic owners. Building new stands, buying players, what will they think of next ? That stuff helps to generate revenue from gullible fans and sponsors. It's pretty clear that these guys have rotated in without any idea of how to run an English football club. It's like giving a jigsaw puzzle to a 3 year old..they might work it out in the end.. This situation is nothing more than helping mates, real estate, visas, and ego. Hopefully amongst all this, us losers might see our club be competitive and win a few matches for good value. We aren't unique either. Look at the state of the national game at club level. Yes, revenue is up, tickets for the top teams are scarce, but the money involved is all overseas from players right through to corporate sponsorship and investment. Its ruined. Best post I’ve read on this forum for a long time

Great analogy, Wael had 7 years trying to work out the puzzle, Alan Sugar, Tony Fernandes (QPR), Todd Boehy now, all struggled and with serious money. My concern is this lot don’t and the only victim is then the club and the team. I’m happy to give them time on the puzzle but I think the fans and media can tell the kid they are using the wrong pieces!

You're starting to sound like the AF. Just look at the evidence and if anyone has half a business head on them, it will show them up so far to be utterly out of their depth. Maybe. So why was everything so fabulous under Wael, why isn't it now, and what has changed? He could literally do nothing wrong in your eyes and any criticism was jumped on. Yet he appointed Barton, who you and many others turned against, he oversaw the biggest losses we've ever incurred, and he failed to deliver two stadium projects. Yet he was beyond reproach. So why was it so good then, and it's so bad now? It doesn't add up. Something has happened to make you change your views and it's more than just the current, business as usual, ragbag Rovers. I never ever said it was all rosy. You've picked up what the AF say about me and use it as fact. I was critical of the whole Al'Qadi regime when it first rode into town. A split board room, family and directors pulling the club in different directions that resulted in DC being promised one thing by one person and not getting being told by another. Not building the UWE stadium was the single most gigantic mistake they made. Wael to his credit, once he assume full control appeared to be trying to steer things in the direction of original intended travel, and did so for a while, capitalising debt along the way. However it was largely too late now to do anything meaningful on the stadium front, he tried to put a stadium deal together and he made some poor decisions in who he appointed as manager, execs of the club, and never structured a good footballing department. Wael is though, a very well connected football person and believe it or not people seek advice from when it comes to their own careers in football. So overall whilst we had an owner who made some mistakes, and made questionable decisions on some fronts, which no doubt added to the losses on the balance sheet, I think none were made out of any malice with the intentions always to be honourable. And let's not forget, there were some when he first took over who didn't like him simply because he no longer engaged with them in the way they had been used to, eg, whispering tales from a leaky SC and PC. The AS are now the majority shareholders, as such they are responsible for the day to day running and are the ones responsible for structuring and running the FC. The father seems to let the son have full control. The son appears to be woefully out of his depth with zero clue on how to operate any business let alone a big one like BRFC. There are now 6 people on the board of directors, 2 of them we haven't been introduced to and have no idea about. Who are they? What are their skill sets? Are they part of the structure going forward and if so, what are their roles? Do they need help and experience? What about Tom G? What's he doing now? Where does he fit in to everything? The football department. Who is in charge of recruitment, scouting, player negotiations, and overall operations? Are we going to build that network and if so when are we starting because that should already be in progress. We had a semblance of all of the above under Wael which went out of the bath with Barton. Quite right too. But that happened in October and it's now the end of Jan. On top of that some people aren't being paid, or having to take benefits from the club in exchange for invoice values that they probably wouldn't otherwise have taken just as a means of settling up. As I said before. If Abdul is the man to run the show, he needs a damn good wake up call and learn to be a proper businessman quick smart because currently he's making a proper cats arse of everything and is so clearly out of his depth.

I'd be happy to give them time as well Paul as long as they at least opened up the puzzle box and put the pieces on the table. So far it's like they've picked up the box and are mesmerised at the rattling sound of the pieces inside the box.

People saying are a we a little less shmabolic now... The club having some player on the book is probably the absolute minimum I would expect following any football club.
The areas that need improving are obvious and hopefully the club are actually doing something about it all. Really is time the club stepped up it's game.

Cheap journalism simply reading fans forums. Simply needs to open his pc for stories. Each sports reporter for each EFL club just cut and paste forum panic stories word for word to each other. Nonsense. I’ve said why I think that earlier in this thread so no point double posting. What is a concern though is that we have fans who instead of questioning or calling out bad things that go on at the FC that are to the detriment of the FC they prefer to stick their fingers in their ears and try to discredit the messenger! Why would anyone do that? The owner and the FC are completely separate things! Not sure you clarified it tbh. I saw a post that says "Clearly he has spoken to people at the club". I then asked you what part of the story points to that as my read of it was the story was simply taken from Gaschat. You didn't respond to that question. So I don't think you really have answered why you are thinking that this wasn't lazy journalism.

i think that we need to recognise that some of the best and most effective leaders start off by getting things wrong and acting inappropriatly. What matters is the long term plans for the club and the abiility to deliver a future that is safe and gives the fans/ owners what they want. It is true that we seem to have experienced some short term operational issues but that is not a problem as long as lessons are learned and egos put to the side. Learning from past mistakes is perhaps the most important steo on the road to success.

This has been asked since the 1950’s I believe, some things never change.

Read a great article on the Venkys when they took over at the other Rovers where they didn’t have a clue and it caused mayhem. They are still there now but it took them nearly 10years to get to grips with running a football club. Originally they were doing everything getting their mates involved, now they have proper football in place. These new boys could learn a thing or two from the Venkys, let’s hope it doesn’t take 10 years because at this rate we won’t have that long. Appreciate, also, that the Venkys are absolutely minted and to all intents a purposes we know absolutely nothing about the Al Saeeds at present

As far as DC didn't he also tell you Finley was past it? Come on Topper. Wael had been hamstrung from the start. He eventually gained majority control when the damage was done. Jezz I am only assuming that if he had his own way from day one we would not be here now. The guy knows his football and the contacts. Just never had 100% control including the bank account. There are so many clubs that are f?:/ed by wrong owners and we unfortunately are now one of them.
