I could bid a million pounds for a player if i had no intention of actually signing the player. This is the sour taste i still have on the JCH deal. I shall wait till the summer to make up my mind about the Manager but more importantly the owners. Talk is of a complete rebuild but this is not totally necessary as we will still have some good players left from this season. For example Brown has shown signs of being a very skilful player who could do a good job for us. He has not yet matched his Exeter form but perhaps this is because he has not yet found his place in the team. Wilson is another who recently has struggled but was a good player for Plymouth and the sort of player who many on here were saying was a great coup. Maybe yet he will prove that it is not his legs gone but a bad period of form due to return from injury. I think MT will be stupid just to write off players. Yes i appreciate that he will need to cut the wage bills-most Managers do have that stipulation but will the owners again come out with their Top 8 budget or will the Andy Tilson record signing remain during these owners tenancy? If it does the chances of Championship in 3 years are nothing short of a pipe dream. How many players are out of contract at the end of the season, plus loans returning?

How many will still be under contract ?. Its around 11 with 2-3 academy players ( under 21) . This don't account for any bids on players like Evans . I have never known it this low ever .

Never mind lads it don't matter because as we all know "We have our Rovers back". In 60 years I have never felt any worse as regards where our team are. Yes we have had far worse times on the pitch and far worse times off the pitch but together this period takes some beating. Any new project takes a time and we have had god knows how many rebuilds but I cant recall any time i have felt worse than with the combination of decision making owners who seem to make decisions on other than football reasons with no real clue on what they are doing together with a Manager who whether it was his decision or the owners or a combination failed us miserably in the window. On health grounds I havent attended a fixture in two years an d worrying from my viewpoint im not sure if as a sofa supporter I am worse off or better off. One thing i certainly know are I feel a mile away from Having my Rovers back and not until I have faith in both the owners and the Manager will i feel like I have.

It’s not half as bad as you’re making out Steve , surprised you feel so despondent about the Gas. But ….we’ve certainly not got our Rovers back ( ridiculous saying anyway). We’re floating somewhere between the two camps, all a bit meh at the moment.

Oh no now the Return of the dust as if Roady returns wasnt bad enough. Where have you both been? Can you not go back there? I am sure every supporter is able to have an opinion as to whether they have their Rovers back and also know if they have without being told. This in all honesty is not about the sacking of JB. With or without either him or Matt Taylor how can anybody feel with these owners that they have their Rovers back when I have never thought until this season that I had lost them!! So many things that supporters have complained about coupled with numerous Board changes, a supporters club that is split, the cock up which has caused the new stand to be empty for so long, the JCH signing, ticketing. six weeks to find a replacement Manager and release of a letter just before season tickets go on sale which is the first we have heard from the new owners in an age. Do you really feel we have our Rovers back?

Yes, I think what I meant was if you are not well, rovers are bridge too far, this season especially, not sure about new owners or manager Hopefully next season with his own squad things will improve, 🤞I’m feeling it a bit of a chore watching them at the moment ,so I can understand Where Steve is coming from 🤔💙

What period do you mean exactly? In the last 3 years we've been promoted in probably the best way anyone can, established ourselves as a solid mid table L1 team, we've probably spent more on transfers in those 3 years than we have in the previous 10 and we have a new stand being built. I am hardly a new owners supporter, but I cant understand how this is the worst period in our recent history.

One player I’d like us to sign is the Wycombe goalkeeper for next season.

Do you really feel we have our Rovers back? Steve, enough is enough now, I didn’t know either you were unwell to go to games and this saddens me as you were one of a few die hard home and awayers every week. Forget the trash talk, I genuinely hope you are ok, I enjoyed meeting you at games away and I also enjoyed us being both proved right on Tony Craig, we need more like him now! I only came back on here to help get Barton gone, I was at Wycombe Boxing Day 2022, we lost and I said to my Farher, this play off talk is bollox! From Jan 1st 2023 we collapsed that season, I saw it weeks later where were proper humbled at Morecombe! From the start of the year until he was sacked, we averaged 1.04 PPG, it was beyond relegation form, he was having a breakdown, abusing our players, opposition managers, refs, and look how he’s carried on since leaving? I like you question the owner 100%, they are businessman who are here for themselves. When I say we have got our rovers back, I just mean a humble honest manager. Time will tell if he will make it, all I’m saying is let’s give him a window first of all, As for you, I do hope to see you at games again one day, I would happily pick you up and drop you at the gates of the Men and take you home after, anything to help. Let’s stop bashing each other, get well soon, and I do hope Rovers at least make you smile watching from home. All the best Paul

We've got eight contracted players for next season. I think three of those might be bombed out. Taylor will need help with the recruitment and those plans should have started months ago. Unless something extraordinary happens I think we're looking at best at something similar to Ollie's first season in 1996/97.

I've been very impressed with Jed Ward I'd be happy if he was trusted to be our Number 1. Connor Taylor Conteh, Grant Ward and Anthony Evans And Chris Martin for another year possibly. That's a good nucleus to build a team around. It all depends on what backing Matt Taylor will get in the summer I suppose.

Plus Luke Thomas and I would extend Finley for another year.

Plus Luke Thomas and I would extend Finley for another year. Still think my op is right and shows we have a nucleus to build around. Maybe Jevani will play his way in there too. One issue might be - are we willing to offer decent contract extensions to the likes of Evans or look to "cash in"?

Plus Luke Thomas and I would extend Finley for another year. Forgot about Luke Thomas. Absolutely. A nucleus of 7 players to build a team around. Maybe the rebuild doesn't have to be a complete overhaul after all.

It’s possible, Oxford stayed up last season on the second last game, in total I think by 3 points. What makes it so hard is we have no football department so the manager and whoever they can get together as scouts are working from nothing. What gives me hope is the Conteh signing, if this is a glimpse of what is possible, we should all be happy.

And are you still quite pleased/confident with the calibre of the 3 potential new players we are talking too currently ahead of the summer? Get some better durability around that core of players and we would be doing a lot better.
