Great result, Matt seems to have pulled the club together, going forward cant see Scott Sinclair featuring and at his age he needs to be playing, if opportunities came up for him think it might be better to negotiate to end his contract. Loans look good, strong end to this season, then get preparing for a good go next season. We had Connor Roberts and Ollie Mcburnie on loan before and never used them, now we will be trusted with young gems to help develop them, future looking good UTG. He couldn’t go to another football league club now. Not sure on the rules about non league and Scotland etc. Sinclair seems happy just to sit on the bench and use our gym to keep fit, it's all a bit odd as you think at his age he'd just want to play football.

I love our fanbase, i really do. 8 days ago we were plummeting towards relegation with a poor squad, poor manager and shambolic owners. Now we are making a burst for the play offs!!
We are a very streaky team. Good run, poor run, win a few, lose a few. I dont see that changing. Having said that, we have favourable fixture list, with our tougher games all being at home. I dont think we will make the play offs, but i dont think we need a massive change of players at the end of the season to have a good go next year. I would be happy if we pretty much kept what we have, and exchange our loan signings for good quality permanent first team starters.

Why wouldn't any club take advantage of the loan system, as how else are we going to get players of the quality of EA, Vale and BA? We need to keep developing our contacts so we have a steady supply of such talent.

Only saw parts of the 2nd half today, but Jed Ward take a bow. Not sure if our standards have been lowered so much, or he’s truly an excellent keeper, but honestly, every time Exeter were 1:1 or through on goal, I just immediately assumed goal. I’d forgotten what it was like for our GK to actually pull off a save where you expect the striker to score. It’s so refreshing. Looking forward to seeing him develop in the 1st team Absolutely and we might even have a goalkeeper that saves a penalty. What a novelty that would be

Still down here in a hotel and forgot how annoying rooming with your kids can be re waking up early so gonna reflect as he farts about in the room 🤣 St Ann’s well pub was great before the game. Took a gamble as wasn’t clear it was actually open as a bit of research suggested it had shut for a while on and off recently but alas it was. Got there early which was a good call as became mobbed by 1,15. Pretty sure at first we were on a table at first next to one of the GasCast lads as recognised his dulcet tones. Toilets in there proper old school stinking of “man water” 🤣 On to the ground and signs stuck up every 5 metres “Bristol rovers no alcohol served in this stand “ Decentish performance did enough.quite liked the look of “Christina” and a good goal. Seemed the terrace was a bit overly packed ? Super Jed ward in goal was solid again, liking the look of him. Special mention to the Exeter sub who took pelters in the corner where we were stood because of the size of his nose 🤣🤣 Walking back into town amongst their Exeter “yoof” was a good laugh. Faces on the floor and few of them trying to kick off with their own fans. Another great day. We’ll go down for breakfast soon so I’ll stop rambling now Up the bloody rovers 👍👍 Got a picture of the BS16 flag outside the pub but says too big to post

Only just read the whole thread. Nice to see some more positivity on gaschat! Enjoy your weekend people. We might not quite make play offs but I for one am looking forward to watching this team and manager for the next 3 months. UTG

Just got back... From Ifollow.
Wow we break our Devon hoodoo! In dogmatic, last gasp defending and stubbornness in performance.
I thought we played well.
I quite liked our starting line up, balance and players playing in their natural positions.
After starting by surrendering possession early doors, we settled (I don't know why?) and played some easy on the eye football and exhibited a smooth rhythm for the majority of first half.
The second half was more Exeter, credit on them (see what I done there!?) but I still think we helped them by defending too deep and retracting.... which leads us on to the last form of defence - Ward, again looking more than competent, made some fantastic saves (even giving the fist pump yay to see his heart is in it as much as anything else) and penalty box presence. Another excellent performance to suggest it wasn't beginners luck. Has the jersey for foreseeable for me....he looks like an imposing keeper we've been pleading for for years that isn't going to treat his jersey with nonchalance like Belly, but rather with respect.
I liked how Hunt managed to get himself into a couple of goalscoring positions.
I liked the running and time CM gave to the team.
I liked Crama being more masterful in his role.
I liked the covering Friend offered the mid and defence.
I liked Vale's confident passing and crossing.
I liked Conteh winning ball passing to player, he just never gives away possession.
But in particular, Aguero scoring a scorcher on debut, was my m o m..... oozed class, brilliant control on ball which appeared to give him more time and looked absolute quality. Settled in straight away, looks a real coup and exciting proposition....plus, must be up there somewhere with quickest time scoring on debut?
In conclusion..... A great result and first time on long long while we keep a clean sheet, and see out a game from an early winning position. Well done MT for exacting revenge for a few weeks ago where we just weren't good enough and propelling us into the top 10. Nice one.

Mixed feelings as im bit disappointed Exeter didnt get a draw there but a great result for the gas. Exeter on top early on and should have squeezed a goal or 2 and played some decent football. The goal was indeed a cracker with nice positioning from the ref! The goal destroyed Exeter's momentum. Rovers came into the game a lot more in second half and Exeter started to run out of ideas. Despite the great saves from Wards and another crossbar hit I thought Rovers looked just as likely to get another as our defence started to messed about. Chris Martin's late shot almost hit the Exeter drummer! Dont really agree with the so called 'shithousery' 'anti football' comments, thought Exeter shot themselves in the foot with too much defensive play out from the back style when time was running out.
PS Apologies on behalf of most Exeter fans, that drum really annoys the f**k out of me!
PPS Gonna check the playoff odds!

Watched on Ifollow. A couple moments for them... but I actually thought we limited them pretty well. Need to figure out those transistion moments- but that's where Finley/ Ward returning will be helpful. But for a brand new, pretty inexperienced that was good going.
Love beating Caldwell. He's a proper promoter of Banned word tactics.

Noticed the Exeter Manager Gary Caldwell having a rant about Referees in particular the injury time at the end of the second half He has a rant about and with referees almost every game. It should have been longer than 5 minutes for sure but he likes to put the blame anywhere else apart from his tactics.
