Possibly the only players that looked good last night were Number 20 Omochere & Number 5 Lawal of Fleetwood. Impressed with both of them.

Play offs will be back on by Saturday evening Yeah I guess. How did the stay away fans enjoy the show last night? 7500 wasn't it? Nice. We will have done well to finish 10th. We always include season ticket holders in the attendance number.. and easy to imagine many season ticket holders didn't fancy the traffic/weather.

Really poor. Arguably worse than the Exeter home game. Can't think of any postives to come out of that. Fleetwood looked stronger, quicker and more determined from start to finish. It's pretty clear we haven't got the players to compete with that sort of side, particularly in poor conditions. Our performances against the likes of Wycombe, Fleetwood and Exeter at home in the last 4 or 5 weeks highlight some serious weaknesses that we'll have to address in the summer if we're to have any chance of improving on a mid table finish. The defending for both goals last night was awful. Two of the worst goals we've conceded all season. We never managed to put Fleetwood under any sustained pressure and created very little. Can't say anyone impressed me last night but Vale and Thomas at least put in some effort. Just when you thought it couldn't get much worse our top scorer gets himself sent off in injury time. Not looking forward to Burton much after that as I can see it being a very similar type of game. I've got a bit of sympathy for the defensive performance actually. Our defensive players last night included a rookie GK in his 3rd? game, a debutant, a CB who has played less than 10 games and another who's played a couple more than that. The conditions were awful and Fleetwood were big and aggressive. I'd give those players a break but they only get 1 free pass. A few days training as a unit and establishing who is in charge back there should see a hugely improved performance next time out.

Posted the below on the rebuild for next season thread but it’s relevant to last night. This is bloke who has had a career, just come off a promotion in front of 15,000 every week and doesn’t really want to do it anymore. We need hungry captains all over the pitch, he ends it with “we have to keep on trying and see where we are” not re play offs, anything, just see where we are! He doesn’t hurt enough, he can’t stay fit either, I ask everyone to compare him to Tony Craig at the end of his career for us. x.com/official_brfc/status/1755010780150296758?s=48&t=bhN6HOKs1kzYSj3KfeKg9QThought that was a shocking interview. The most uninspiring since the one from the awful Max Ehmer. Certainly doesn’t come across as a strong leader. How I wish for another Tony Craig. .

Spot on Si, if we finish 10th or top 12 with this lot then it’s been a good season and upgrade on 17th last season. This is a Bristol Rovers Masters side, I play for a Vets side on Sunday and we are allowed 4 blokes over 35 I think but they all can’t be on the pitch at the same time, it’s been like watching us the last 2 seasons. If you ever wanted to be a physio to learn the trade, it would be with us, you’d be on real personal terms with a lot of them! Which team is that? I play for a Vets team on a Sunday too (Bristol Corinthians over 35's Div 4) I’m up here in Oxfordshire.

Those two wins papering over the cracks got me excited of a legendary climb to steal 6th place.
After last night I'm just hoping we don't drop like a stone and have squeaky bums until may.

Hi Rich here,
My hopes were raised for a while. For sure, I’ll be back. 😆
Meanwhile, some very good advice on this thread about how we could improve over next few months and of course in the summer.
Always hopeful but for now I’ll reflect.

At least the 87 Cod Army went home happy with their free pie and coffee. The three points gained and the chance to remain dry in the new stand might have been a bonus.

Possibly the only players that looked good last night were Number 20 Omochere & Number 5 Lawal of Fleetwood. Impressed with both of them. Spot on .... Omochere looked unplayable at times and Lawal was just a Beast at the back. I did laugh late in the game when Lawal ventured forward and his shot at goal smashed high into the South Stand.... he saw the funny side too. Bosun Lawal is Irish and on loan from Celtic !! Promise Omochere is also Irish and was signed from Bohemians he is under contract until 2025. WE should keep tabs on both those boys.

Absolute sh*te! Terrible team selection, game plan, game management and substitutions. That's what you get. If I was Aguilera I'd be wanting to go back to Forest ASAP. You've got an absolute gem of an attacking talent, being asked to play just in front of the back 4. Wasted. Pathetic. Good job we didn't ask Elliot Anderson to play the Makelele role! If this is the Football we are going to be served up the majority of the time under Matt Taylor then I ain't interested. I'm sure I'm not alone. Here you go, your last sentence. Well it’s not his squad so let’s judge his football when it is, I mean he was left with so much pace wasn’t he up front! You ain’t interested, that’s fine, you were not interested at the start, your hero was sacked! Just had a look at who liked your posts, good old Betty! And before you mention, Dust, you mentioned him. You ain’t getting the wife beater back pal, move on, you sound not interested, Gas Girls or Mangos 👍 MT renewed CM contract, paid surprisingly big money by our standards for Conteh, and signed BA, Vaughan and El Kanon loan, plus picked Ward over Cox, I make that 6 out of the 11 players who started last night. You could just imagine the melt down on here today if JB had brought on 3 defenders last night when we were already losing 2-0 to a bottom 4 side.

Plus he already had Jevani Brown here when he came in who played so well for him at Exeter (yet nobody can get him anywhere near that form here)

Don’t like that interview - firstly chewing gum whilst being interviewed is not a good ‘ look ‘ ! having a bit of a pop at the crowd criticising the short passing on a heavy pitch to my mind is ridiculous ! tactics were completely wrong from MT ! Having arrived home ( like many others) absolutely soaked to the skin his comments have gone down like a lead balloon !!!! 🙃🌧⛈☔️💦❄️ 💙UTG

Players have to carry some of the can for that performance too, mind. I might be well off the mark, but Wilson looked culpable for both goals to me and seemed quick to remonstrate with others after them.
The substitutions did look odd, but without being arsed to analyse the before and after I just assumed it was a change of shape, not just replacing forwards with defenders. I've seen us chasing games under previous managers who end up with 6 forwards on the pitch to no avail too.
I suppose I'm defending Taylor a bit here, but the tools at his disposal last night were lacking CT, GW and SF. I do think starting Vaughan was a mistake in those conditions against those opponents though.
As for playing BA further up, I doubt it would have worked any better. He'd have been suffocated and bullied. I presume the idea was for him to get more time on the ball playing deeper, with Conteh cleaning up and feeding him.
Ultimately, we were out fought and out thought, but some of the more experienced players let us down as they were either not completely fit or up for it enough
