I have a four year old son, I would not take him in the south stand. South west, probably.
If I were on my own or with a few mates my own age then I would have no hesitation in going in the south and heading for he area at the back near the away fans. Not in the slightest bit interested in violence personally, but I do not mind a bit of back and forth with away fans, adds to the atmosphere on big game days for me.
Point being, plenty of areas in the ground where you do not have to worry about plonkers. They are easy to avoid.

Was quite entertaining watching the posturing between the rams and rovers fans in the south stand. Especially the stewards attempting to stop people moving or climbing over the netting, I wouldn't be risking a smack in the mouth for minimum wage so I don't blame them for doing essentially nothing!
One for the club to look at if they are going to get the go ahead for 100% capacity

Hopefully most ST holders in the south stand next season are less 'edgy' Very few issues when it was the tent and generally good banter. Repeating myself from another thread but Exeter had it spot on. Boisterous lot behind each goal and the segregation netting in the seats was pretty much removed so some Exeter supporters could use the away toilets and food outlets as they were closer. No hassle

Had been tempted to look at a move to the South but think I will stay with the grown ups in the East Still of the opinion thatchers end should be sorted before east - if nothing else where are they going to accommodate people if they did a knock down and rebuild of the East stand. Seems to be worse at away games these days - stood for most of the game at the last couple I have attended. Used to go to many with my dad who would have struggled to stand for the whole game and never had any issues. Don't understand where this mind set of sitting where you please and not caring if you block peoples view by standing came from. I guess people just don't have any manners and think they are being clever - they are not they are just plain rude. Sorry if I sound old Bottom line is we have loads of standing areas, if you want to stand with your mates go there.

Only at Rovers, where the majority of stands are terracing, would people go to one of the few seating areas to stand wherever they like. We've finally got a decent space for young families and people who struggle to stand all game to use and, as usual, it's already being abused by people who don't give a toss about anyone else.
Hopefully it settles down a bit next season when all the new season tickets take effect.

Felt sorry for them as they trudged off to try and find somewhere else to sit not sure they were regulars so wouldn't have known. they obvs do now .

Not only are we losing up to £500k a season on limiting away fans to a mere 1300 which got to be one of the lowest in the league. I expect Cheltenham will offer a lot more with a capacity of 7-8k .
But to compound the issue even more . We are encouraging fans to switch from terracing to seats at a cheaper price next to away fans to wind each other up.
Of course NO increase in gate receipts for all this hassle just empty spaces on the terraces !.
Eg. And yes fans were rushing pass me heading to the south stand near the end of the game .

We left just after they scored their third goal. Did not encounter any fans rushing in the opposite direction to get to the south stand. Just loads of gasheads making their way out along the back of the west stand. I await media/club reports about this, if it indeed happened. As regards away fans, we had the lowest number of seats available in the league before the south stand was built, so why on earth would we hand over the majority of them to away fans. The club are selling ST’s in the south stand up to block f and it would appear that will allow away support what Derby had Saturday. That’s perfectly acceptable to me. I would suggest the club erect a fence just behind the dugouts and give that section of the east terrace to away fans. I am quite sure that will still leave plenty of room for standing ST holders and casuals alike.

The only way they could get to the Derby fans was through the seating in the stand. There were several coppers and two police horses by the toilets behind the stand when we left and two more horses just inside the Mem gates. As I said I await reports on this from the media and club, if indeed these massed ranks of gasheads started any trouble with the opposing fans.

I thought I read somewhere that a group of fans were rushing through the car park to get down to the South Stand? Didn't hear of any actual trouble, so no doubt they were headed off at the pass!

I thought they were all stood at the back so not in the way of children/families etc. I actually think it adds to the atmosphere with them there so fair play. Stand was half empty so so sit where you want (like 99% of away games) is fine isn’t it. Different if it’s a sell out I agree

The only spaces left were in the south west stand. Every seat around us in section e was full, as were f and g. I’m still waiting to here where these fans rushing towards the south stand were coming from, there were loads if us leaving behind the west stand and there were certainly none rushing past us going in that direction. Tilly mentions about lads rushing down the car park towards the away fans exits at the south east corner. Nothing unusual there as happened several times in the past. Can’t wait to see people putting all the social media photos of the trouble up on here. Us two old timers love a good scrap.

No it is not OK - you get allocated a seat when you buy a ticket - if it is unallocated seating the ticket would say that - in no other environment would it be acceptable. At away games people "sit where they want", but I have still had people ask me to move out of their seat when no doubt someone is sat in the seat I am allocated. It is just unnecessary hassle. If it is sold as unallocated that is fine, everyone knows where they stand. Nothing worse than getting there an hour before kick off, randomly sitting somewhere and waiting for the tap on the shoulder from the big bloke who has just left the bar two minutes from kick off and insists you move when all the good seats are gone. We should not allocate seats based on who is the scariest

Got to say it was very funny watching two tribes of Joe Hawkins wanna be's doing the hokey-kokey from either side of the sheet, seeing them becoming brave and gingerly pushing aside the hessian fabric, and then seeing the enormous sense of relief on there faces as the referee blew the half-time whistle, meaning they could scuttle away out onto to the concourse with their honour intact for a much needed vape and the thought of thank **** that's over. hahaha.

How do you explain to a 11 year old their behaviour, he noticed some were not watching the football at all, find it quite sad not funny to be honest, glad we don t keep saying we re a family club, we ve got our share of munters.
