Charlton train just off the A20 which, would make it an easy route from Kent. You're looking at under an hour from Ashford so, plenty of scope of places to live.

If we get the lad- great. But I'm dubious of the pedigree of Scottish Champ.
Feel the £1m click bait article has raised the prestige of this one. No need to panic about Bristol House prices here. Let's just see what happens.

Not surprising that Charlton can offer better wages than us and they were splashing the cash in January.
It's a good sign that we are willing to pay transfer fees, for the right type of player, even if the wage budget is being cut.
When a reduced wage budget, it will be hard to fight off competition from other clubs though. Although we managed to, when Conseh was signed.

The profiling generally seems to be about targeting players who will retain value at the bare minimum. I just hope we don't get wrapped up in idealism and are realistic with the approach.

I don't think we ever had a chance here - Our crap facilities and set up or Charlton ... Not a difficult decision.
Charlton would have offered good money whilst we have little scope to offer much at all.
Sadly I think this will be the first of many this Summer that we allegedly offered but who opted for something elsewhere. We are no more a better home for players than Cambridge, Shrewsbury etc....

Didnt we all want a different approach to transfers like Peterborough ect..
We got outbid on wages by a bigger club it happens at all levels, I'd rather us be sustainable than blow the budget on a left back. Its promising that we're looking to pay fees puts a whole different slant on the market

Fodderingham played for rangers. That's a money thing. Also there's a bit of an age difference. Robertson was 18. Clearly very impressive. I'm not dismissing the lad but I believe our last Scottish Championship signing was Reily? Few trees pulled up.

Oh my point was mainly to show there is the talent there, we shouldn't care about what level they're currently playing... If they're good enough, they're good enough!

Shame we missed out but shows we are willing to spend for the right player but not over pay on wages.

The Quarters crap? Really? Whilst they are better than anything we’ve had previously, I don’t think at present they are a game changer. Basically, it’s a nice flat pitch and a half , changing rooms and a car park.

Was this the guy who Ian Holloway signed from Stirling Albion, turned out more like old mother.

Yatton is spot on !! The Mem is a joke .... The South Stand is an improvement for sure but the rest is non league standard - the dressing rooms are non league standard. The best thing it has going for it is a decent pitch and first class fan support on a good day. When compared to the Valley, the training facilities, the match day experience etc ... there really is a vast difference. Sadly that's not just the Valley we possibly rank in the bottom dozen teams in L1 + L2 for facilities etc...

Reilly was picked up by DC from St Mirren. Other Gas lower league pick ups have in the Scottish lower leagues have included; - Sam Nicholson (Hearts of Midlothian) - Jim Eadie (Dumbarton & Kirkintilloch Rob Roy) - Ian Alexander (Motherwell) - Scott Shearer (Albion Rovers) - Scott Howie (Clyde) - John Anderson (Greenock Morton & Livingston) - Paul Coutts (Cove Rangers) - Darryl Duffy (Falkirk) On the whole I'd call them absolutely fine!
