Should your concentration be more on the Judge's verdict on whether what was said was allowable free speech or defamation? If someone in the public eye, constantly gets defamed. Does that mean they should give up on protecting their reputation? |

Well I guess the Crown Prosecution Service are satisfied the messages from Barton were 'indecent or grossly offensive nature' and he was trying to cause 'distress or anxiety'.
Barton will probably avoid a further stay at HMP even if guilty as prison are just too over-crowded. Still the defense and inevitable appeal costs will set him back a five figure sum but not to worry as he tells us he is very rich.
Thank God the owners sacked him.

You’re talking a load of tosh I believe there's also a civil case commenced and if he's found guilty in the criminal case then he won't have much chance of defending the civil case. Although how tweeting somebody reminds them of Fred West warrants police involvement/CPS charges is questionable. |

Not the first time this lady has been in the news.
Previously accused the then England ladies Manager of racism/abuse and later accused a member of staff of racism.
I believe the manager concerned was cleared of all allegations regarding the matter but was later dismissed.

Yep, need to await a conviction and then check with the lawyers if it's grounds for non-payment of his wages. Is the case where he's accused of attacking his wife still going ahead? I think I read the CPS appealed the judge dismissing the case as his wife was not being called as a witness? |
