Taylor just spoke on Jevani Brown "footballs a performance based industry*
Doesn't wanna play him because something may happen with him in next few weeks.

I was vey disappointed in McCormick & Sinclair especially. Cardiff were quicker and more skill full and deserved their win .There was hardly any creavity from our midfield and Promise needs more support. Can't wait for Chris Martin to return. Thought three of last seasons four who started tonight were very poor, Sinclair, Thomas and McCormick. I thought Taylor had a stinker tonight too, I know he's just come back from injury so will give him time but looked like he was running in treacle half the time and had an annoying habit of complaining about unmarked men when it was his man. He'll need to get back to his best and quick if he wants to get in ahead of the back three from Saturday.

The normal rules being, if the ball goes over the goal line, it’s a goal? Is a bit odd though that if this game was at our place that goal may not have stood. Should just be the same for everyone. Well it’s the same for both sides tonight isn’t it? Dangerous territory to start saying the goal shouldn’t stand because although it’s over the line it wasn’t our goal!! Which is effectively what is being said. A goal is a goal and that was a goal. When we start arguing about that…… Anyway. We have played well and with more familiarity we will get better. some very good moves and a few better crosses and we could have been 2-0 up. Fine margins as ever. But tbf Cardiff have played very well as well and some of their moves had us stretching. I thought it was an excellent advert for football played in a good spirit. UTG!

VAR is used at the play off finals yet isn't available during league matches. If they have tech available then it makes sense to use it. Not good enough tonight anyway.

Bilongo the legend. If he doesn't get his own song this season, he'll be short changed Danny Nedelko by Idles.

I’ve never judged a player before on poor first appearance, but for Micah Anthony I think I might make an exception. Harsh. Chasing the game and worked hard unless I missed something ? Didn't change the game but neither did any other sub.

Predictable result but we were well in this game and could easily have taken it with a bit more composure.
Takeouts for me:
Omochere - a mixed bag but whereas he lacked composure with his first half chance, his link up play was excellent and he has a presence about him which leads me to believe he can play that number 9 role, but he doesn’t quite have the nous needed yet to get the better of his markers physically. Looked a whisker away from getting on the end of a good cross at the start of the second half.
Bilongo looked all at sea against the right sided attackers when he came on. Admittedly the game was stretched at this point but he doesn’t look a natural defender. Has more to offer going forward, though.
The free kick apart (and it’s great to see him have the confidence to take it), Shaw looked very bright in his cameo. Would like to see more minutes for him in the coming games.
Our players looked a bit leggy and ran out of steam. Macca looked knackered when he came off. Thomas struggled a bit at the end too, with two 90 minutes in three days. Interesting to see if he starts again on Saturday.
We lacked a bit of quality overall in our passing and finishing but it was by no means a bad performance.

Held our shape and passed the ball well in the first hall without creating alot; second half generally past us by, substitutions did not help, by the end Cardiff were on top and deserved winners. Thought Kofi Shaw showed he has the ability and sharpness to do well, my MOM Jake Garrett has a touch of the Gascoigne's about him, class and creativity will go on to be really good Championship player.

Some tidy football at times but we are still lacking that clinical Touch in the final third.
That said I think we have a good number 9 in Promise, worked hard and some good link up play, however he needs service if he is to get goals.
Thought Senior was competent and Mola continues to impress but it was our established players that disappointed last night, Sinclair and McCormick did the square root of nothing all game.
Taylor also needs a wake up call, the keeper didn’t help but Taylor stood rooted to the ground in no man’s land for their opener.

Lets hope Omochere can learn from Chris Martin, then he will be some all round player!
Maybe Garrett has earned a spot in the 11 Saturday? Not sure how we get everyone on the bench with Shaw doing well and Martin returning!!

Bit of a curate’s egg performance, good in parts but overall unsatisfactory. When you see a decent shooting opportunity missed and a superb cross not quite anticipated quickly enough, both of which could have put us in the ascendancy, you regret even more the rash actions of your one natural goal scorer in a meaningless end of season game.

Conner Taylor is given 8/10 in the Post ratings and Matt Taylor is quoted as saying he was our best player.

After watching the first two games, a few takes on where we are….
We look defensively more organised and have found a real gem in Mola.
We have options in the middle but are struggling without our true creator Evans. Hoping either Hutch or Garrett fill that role, although Shaw showed he isn’t out of place around the first team
We are woefully short of options up top at present, Promise needs help up there but he will prove an astute signing.
The goalkeeper looks a class act
It feels like the support is really behind this group, great atmosphere at home and we never stopped backing them last night. With a few more tweaks I can see this group growing into a decent league one side.
Shout out to the players who came over to sign a few lads shirts and take selfies with my boy, meant we didn’t get back to Dorset til 2am but overall a good day out and plenty to work on.

Overall Cardiff were the better team. We looked ok for 60 mins without really creating much. Forbes got beat for the opener and didn't track back for the second if being critical. Thomas really didn't fire, we need him to be more ruthless and have that killer instinct in the final third. Some promising signs in Mola and Senior and a good impact from Shaw. Plenty of room for improvement but the squad will need time to gel and settle. My only worry at the moment is goals and where they are coming from, hopefully Taylor works that out!!
